Hi, i've an issue with play store on Android révolution HD 3.6. I've lost the button (to see my apps....) next to the search button ?
Try to re install the play store but no luck ?
Did you install the back button mod? Flash again without selecting it, or install the xposed mod.
Also, you're best posting this in the actual rom forum
I think the only mod i've selected is the one to wake up with the volume button.
Will try to re flash

How do I configure and use it? I am currently using the latest Helly Bean "Devil Ed". I installed the removed gapps, but don't see it. I know it works, seen it fully functioning in a youtube video.
Push the search button in the bottom right corner of your phone. That should launch it.
That didn't work. But I reflashed to stock and flashed everything again. Works good now. Must of missed something.
Hi folks,
I've had a good search around but not managed to figure this one out. I've just flashed CM10.1 first nightly and gapps-jb-20130301 using cwm 6.0.3.2 on my M7 (Orange UK, HTCDev unlocked). I followed the instructions on codeworkx' thread, doing a factory reset/wipe after flashing.
Now the phone works great, and the gapps install obviously did something, because I have Play Store installed. However there don't seem to be any of the other standard Google apps installed. I had to install Play Music, GMail, Chrome, Maps, Youtube myself, and I can't find Car Home anywhere. I was expecting to have to install some of the apps which are available in the Play Store, but things like Car Home aren't available in there.
Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the case? Or is there some way I can check if the gapps install went wrong somewhere (there was no error message in the cwm console)?
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Hmmm... Looks like the right gapps but to be sure here is the link from CM http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip but looks good. You should have Gmail and youtube maps and navigation. Don't know for sure about car home but sounds right. Try reinstalling it. After wipe the cache. If it still isn't working try install Team Win Recovery and then flash gapps again and wipe cache.
Thanks for the help. I downloaded it again and the MD5 is the same as the one I installed. Tried flashing it again with the same results, so maybe it's something specific with this version. Anyway I'll carry on for now because the phone is setup and happy for a bit. Most of the Google apps I can get from Play Store anyway. Would like to get Car Home going at some point though. Next time I wipe the thing I'll try with Team WIn.
The newest gapps for 4.2.2 do not install any apps besides the play store and play services. That's it. Everything will need to be downloaded thereafter.

I see, so seeing as Car Home isn't in the store, any ideas where to find it? I found an older version in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257329 but I presume there'll be a more updated one for 4.2.2 somewhere.]
Thanks for the info.
Just to follow this up, the package in the above link works fine so far.

I just looked at my phone (CM 10.1) and I have no Car Home.
Just checked on my mate's Nexus 4 with 4.2.2 and he doesn't have it either, so I guess that's that one answered

I installed CM10 Look Ma No Hands from pengus on my phone with TWRP, the ROM was working fine, all the buttons too. Then flashed non neon google apps from tonyp for Android 4.2.2, and from now, the home button is not responding. In fact, it vibrate when I press it, but Android does'nt go back to home when I do... It has no effect (but the phone is vibrating when pressing it, so it's not dead).
So, I thought that making a full wipe, and flashing CM10 again without the google apps would fix this issue, BUT no at all ! Actually, now, Google Play, Search and Google Talk are installed after a fresh install (even if I did'nt flash them after flashing the ROM, which is normally free of google apps !)
Why are they still here ? (after a full wipe !) Also, my home button still doesn't respond !
I'm confused ! What is going on, and how to get rid of those google apps ? And getting my home button to work again ?
Thanks !
Managed to fix it myself. How : by chance, I had a backup of an ICS rom, so I restored it, then made a full wipe, and installed again CM10. Result : no google apps, home button working again.
Does anyone know what happened, and HOW google apps can still be there after a full wipe ? Where are they stored ?!
Yea we know what happened. U didnt read first few post that explain how to install it correctly. Go and read it to understand what went wrong

How are you installing the new play store application?
i download the modded playstore by chelpus, i just press the "install and Reboot" buttom
when i install and reboot nothing changes and i still get the orginal googe play store..why?
Problem is that stock kernel write protects the system partition, so the installer can't write the new file.
Okey what i need to do now that i can install the modded google play?

Which version did u update from and what to?
More than likely, you will need a different version of google apps. To do this you will have to flash from the cwm recovery once you hasve the right gaps. Also i would highly recomend a factory restore in settings afterword. I always factory restore after an update if going from one vrrsion to annother and not a fresh install

Did you try reinstalling the play store -> http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-play-store-activity-iap-indicators-and-more/
Download .apk and install from cm file manager in the apps list. You'll need to enable settings -> security -> unknown sources before installing.
Perhaps it will work after that.
Or you can reboot into recovery and flash the gapps again. Flash gapps for the version of cm you use.
Otherwise, you should make full backups in the recovery before installing an update so you can roll right back.
Or you can wipe and do a clean install.
I've never tried installing an older update but if you want to see if that works or crashes and burns then there's an option too. That won't bring back play store though
