[Q] GameGuardian doesnt work - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi gues. I install that app, and they always produces an error - "Is your game dead? Reset all lists", or freezes on searching. Any use that on Razr i ?
(xt890 4.1.2 + root)
UPD1:
GameCIH gives an error - "Error the system deny to root"
But i have root. Titanium BackUP works great.

Same problem here...

I I also have a Razr I and thats something I miss about my old Droid 3...
Appears that razr i ram architecture (or the SU permissions) works a bit different from the usual, what stops the memory editors like GameCih, GameGuardian and DaxAtack (that is the same as GG) from even look at the lines...
I've tried even move the editors to inside the rom, what apparently worked for some devices with the same issue, without success though...
Im still looking for a fix to that (or a better explanation)...
If i find something out, i'll share here.

D:
Same here.
Why? Game Killer is not finding any Number, Game Guardian says, my game is death and Game Cih says my device is not rooted. But it is.

[Q] Just rooted my phone! adivce? cool apps?

Ok, first off i'll say i don't have much android knowledge. I did successfully root it following a video. I now have one click lag fix installed. Now, someone please answer these for me
1. Now that its already rooted successfully, is bricking still possible? or is that only something that happens during trying to root.
2. What is a good way to backup everything on my phone? and where do i find it?
3. What are cool apps or widgets to have that can only be used on a rooted phone?
4. Lastly, will someone point me in the direction of a manual or instructions on how to install custom roms and how to get froyo.
Thanks!!
i'd like to know that too...

1. No
2. Titanium Backup from the market
3. I don't know but I don't care much for widgets.
4. Check sticky posts here and the dev board of galaxy s
try SetCPU for conserving/overclocking your device,
Titanium Backup is godsend! well worth the price
Try rom manager from the market, it will assist in making a more comprohensive backup
Most custom roms should have a good install guide with them and aslong as you read it first, download everything first, and not get scared off by the reference to all the diferent csc files its qctually fairly easy. In the event that it does go wrong it probably was a user error but easily fixed by going over the steps again (i myself only just flashed my first android last weekend, and the improvement is worth the time and small hassle of learning to do it your self).
Some good apps are ShootMe (screenshot app), rescan media root (controls the media scanner function), cache cleaner, and there are some wifi transfer app that need root to work (still fairly new/beta/buggy). Not root but the xda forum app aswell
Hope that helps a bit

Root Explorer is the best file manager i've come across, works great and well worth the price.
Best apps (I know these dont all require root) I've come across are
"App 2 SD" - This moves your installed apps (that are compatible) to your external memory card to save phone memory
"Titanium backup" (root) - As mentioned above, its a great backup tool for your apps and settings
"CacheMate" (root) - clears your apps cache, helps speed things up
"MixGet" - increase headphone volume, very useful if you find output it quiet, be careful not to deafen yourself
"PhoneMyPC" - Connect via wifi to your computer and control, useful if you want to be lazy and sit back to move the mouse
Best thing to do is goto market and search "root", that will return the majority of them
"Handcent SMS" - Very customisable sms app, much better than stock samsung one
Good games:
Angry Birds - This is free but includes ad's (turn off internet on phone so they dont display)
Talking Tom cat - repeats everything you say in a funny voice
Need for speed Shift - Excellent graphics, really good racing game
Asphalt 5 - (can get this free from samsung apps)
Widgets I use:
Accuweather - self explanatory, great for the days weather, includes a clock (find this on samsung apps on F.W JPM) available in market
Facebook - Facebook Status updates
If I think of any others I'll let you know

[STICKY][FIX] Full market (improved market fix) on G Tablet

**NOTE FOR VEGAN TAB USERS** Steps 1-5 are no longer necessary for you, as the build.prop file in your /system directory has a working market fingerprint out of the box. Just apply the standard Market Fix (steps 6-8) and you are good to go.
I've seen several people complaining that the "full market" we had on G Tablet after the established market fixes wasn't quite full. Well, I've solved that problem, through a mixture of reading what others have done with other devices and experimentation. I will not promise that this gives you *everything*, but I do believe it gives you apps that otherwise required the release-keys status. Some of the apps you get may of course not work. But several applications I looked for before (TV.com for example, with streaming CBS video content) were not available with the previous market fix, and are now available with this fix. In fact, TV.com even works, except for a very minor video glitch in the upper left corner of the screen, and it's a cool app to get some quick streaming video content going on your G Tablet.
**NOTE** I take no responsibility for you screwing up your G Tablet. Please backup your system in Clockwork Recovery before doing any of this!
**EDIT** Removed unneccessary steps after feedback in this thread. Process is now very simple. Edited step 1 to clarify you need paid version of Root Explorer.
Here's how to do it:
0) Backup in Clockwork Mod. Please. I don't want you mad at me if this messes up your ROM.
1) Get the paid version of Root Explorer installed on your G Tablet. Apparently the free version lacks a text editor. If you only have the free version, the text editing step will need to be done in a separate program, or you will need to copy build.prop to your desktop, edit it there, and copy it back. Or use adb to push an edited build.prop to your tablet. Just buy Root Explorer though, it makes this very easy.
2) Browse in Root Explorer to /system. Then click on Mount R/W.
3) Long click on build.prop and click on Open In Text Editor.
4) Scroll down to the line ro.build.fingerprint=....
You are going to replace that with the following text:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2/FRF91/43546:user/release-keys
5) Now you are going to click on Save and Exit. And then remount the /system directory as R/O.
6) Now you are going to re-do the original Market Fix. I used the simple version illustrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l-nySibzeA&feature=related First, make sure Market is running, and browse around in it for a few seconds. If you don't do this, there may be no cache to clear and for some reason the market fix may not work. Then, go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Running and scroll down to Market. Then hit Clear Cache, followed by Force Stop **DO NOT CLEAR DATA FOR MARKET, JUST CACHE**. Then go back, scroll down to Google Services Framework, hit Clear Data, then Force Stop.
7) Now try starting Market again and you get the famous Market Error. Now shut down the G Tablet, then turned it back on. Wait for Wifi to connect to your network before doing anything! I forgot to do that on the first try, so I rebooted again, waited for wifi to connect this time.
8) Now restart Market again. It seems to have sourced the fingerprint from build.prop somewhere in steps 6-7. Searches for previously missing apps now show up. Voila! A truly full market!
And steps 6 and 7 can almost certainly be replaced by the equivalent steps using Titanium Backup that I know a lot of people have been using, particularly with TNT Lite. I am running ZPad 2.2 here, so YMMV with TNT Lite. Please keep me informed if this works/doesn't work for you if you try it!
Credit goes to: Paul at Modaco for hacking on the Advent Vega and making the Market work fully on that device and for coming up with a working build.prop for the Advent Vega, Roebeet for inspiring me to look at the Vega ROM stuff with his current work on the VEGAn ROM, Rothnic for his excellent work on the ZPad ROM that I'm currently using. Basically, I'm just hacking and slashing here, this wasn't any sort of rocket science.
Paul from Modaco is awesome -- and you are as well, for making this post!
Any apps in particular that you found after this, that were missing before? I might want to try this on my device. Thanks again!
FWIW my Nexus One running a CM 6.0 nightly from 2 days ago has
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2.1/FRG83/60505:user/release-keys
Note the more up-level version (2.2.1) and build (FRG83). I haven't tried this on my GTab yet but I will as soon as I can get it up and running.

The only specific things I can tell you off the top of my head are TV.com which I know wasn't there because I searched for it a few hours ago. Also, I tried searching Market for Handcent before and found 14 or 15 results, and after this process I was able to retrieve 24 results.
There were a bunch of random apps I saw in the Top Apps list that I don't remember seeing earlier today. So that was enough to convince me that most of the missing 10-20% of apps are there now.
And thanks for the compliment, especially coming from the guy who made the G Tablet useful!

I'm sure that will work too, though the FRF91 build string seems to match the existing data in the ZPad ROM at least. I'm guessing the two signatures will produce essentially identical Market results.

Yeah. I may be somewhat overoptimistic going with FRG83. The build and version numbers identify the version of the system code so apps may read them and make some assumptions as to certain API characteristics. We're probably closer to FRF91 than FRG83 on TnT Lite.
This one worked ok for me
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/SGH-T849/SGH-T849/SGH-T849:2.2/FROYO/UVJJB:user/release-keys

Yes this is Galaxy Tab. Probably better a Tegra tab once a full market one comes out.
I did the following:
1) Edited build.prop as described in step 4, rebooted and searched for tv.com - no results
2) I preformed the edits in step 4a, rebooted and searched for tv.com - no results
3) I stopped Market & Google Services Framework & wiped Google Services Framework, rebooted after getting Market Error, waited for wifi and opened Market to search for tv.com - no results.
I can't say if it works. I haven't had trouble finding apps, but I can't find tv.com before or after the steps above. Perhaps, I missed something.
Wait!!!! It does work. I tried again after posting and it's there! Thanks!
Is it possible to post the TV.com app? I don't want to do the mod but would love that app!
Great post man worked like a charm, I can get my slingbox app from the market now.
Edit: dammit I can't get the downloaded sling client to launch even after trying it many times which usually worked.
I'm going to give it a shot but being a newbie I'm not clear on this step:
5) Now you are going to click on Save and Exit. And then remount the /system directory as R/O
Will "remount as r/o" be an option to select at this point? If not, can you provide more detail.
The rest of the mod is easy enough to follow.
Thanks.

Thanks works great
Can't get this to work. When I toto building.prop there s no option to open it in text editor. Only toopen as text. But then there is no way to edge the sentence.

CM7 issues?

I've searched and haven't seen folks with this issue but here goes:
I've installed CM7 (daily release 3/22) on wifes phone (D1).
I've kept the default governor and set the max CPU to 700 (800 drained batterly life far too fast).
After a reboot or fresh install the phone operates smoothly as expected. After a day or two, the UI becomes quite laggy... alomost painfully so. I've tried two different versions of CM7 (I think the other was RC2 available through ROM manager) bot with similar results. I changed the governor to interactive and no difference.
Anyone else with these issues?
My DINC loves CM7... so thisis a bit dissapointing.
Try the supercharge link in my signature...
If she needs background apps running (music, 3rd party sms app) try the new script contained in v3
I have also encountered a rather odd issue with cm7 rc1
I'm on a htc desire s-off
baseband 32.49.00.32u_5.11.05.27
kernel [email protected]#1
mod cm7.1.0-rc1-desire
build GRJ22
all system info is telling me I have 64mb of internal storage 1.1gig of external but when I come to download anythink of the market I get an error message [error while downloading "app name here" there is insufficient space on the device].
I am fairly new to flashing roms and have only done 3 in the past all without any trouble, but this has me dumb founded as it effectivly prevents me from installing anythink not even able to add via apk directly from sd any ideas?

I used this and it really has made my phone run smoothly. I run lots of apps and special affects that just tears through my memory if it isn't managed. I had to constantly kill apps before I could start other before I applied this. Only had it for a day but I see the difference.
@OP I'd give his supercharge a try.

[Q] Galaxy S plus ( i9001) SIM toolkit problem

Hi everyone,
First sorry to post this question here, but the forum doesn't allow to post it in the realted thread, but maybe someone can help.
So, I have a galaxy s plus ( i9001 ) and i installed
[ROM][NEW][22-Mar]►Simplistic Plus◄[2.0] Clean | Simple | Stable | Fast
this rom.
My problem, is that this rom doesn't have Stk.apk (SIM toolkit application), this little program uses OTA installation by the manufacturer, and, well in Hungary anyways, you can buy lottery tickets, highway stickers through it.
I have googled stk.apk, found a couple of ones, tried to simpy install it, it looks like it installs, but in the end it says application isn't installed.
Later I figured out that it's a system app, so I tried adb install it, it either says UNCOMPATIBLE UPDATE, or MISSING CERTIFICATES. When I used adb push /system/app it shows in the app list, but when I try to run it, it freezes, and also causes com.android.phone to stop, and goes into some sort of looping with this, meaning the phone part doesn't work at all.
Same results with copying the stk.apk to /system/app in root explorer, and setting the permissions according to the other programs.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

[Q] XBSALL'S ICS Ported Rom on Thrill 4G 3D Converter problem

Hi everyone,
I'm sort of like new here, I had a problem entering download mode after flashing xbsall's ics ported rom, that's solved now due to some users posting threads with the same problem. Thank you
I noticed that no one is talking about the 3D Converter not working properly, I tried Angry Birds 1 (Space didnt have 3d functionalities under GB and Star Wars appears to be going the same way, I think Rovio is planning on realeasing another trilogy on the 3DS and that is why they took away 3D functionalities for smartphones).
Anyway, Angry birds 1 3D functionalities were not working properly under the 3D converter so I decided to delete the application through root uninstaller in order to be able to install the GB HRZ.apk version. While I was trying to do that, before being able to touch the uninstall feature, I noticed the root uninstaller did something and it deleted the application but in a wrong way. I was not able to install the HRZ.apk posted inside an xda thread because the system was telling me that it was going to replace a system application, bla bla bla and after going for its installation, it gave me the message that the application was not installed.
Through root explorer I deleted every single com.lge.lge3dconverter / hrz file and folder I could find, I cleaned the dalvic cache feature through the ram booster program and after all that, the system was still telling me the same thing as before when I tried to install the HRZ.apk GB app.
What can I do in order to be able to have a perfectly functional 3D Converter application for my games like I had it when I was using the GB rom? :crying:
Thank you in advance...
