[Q] HTC Cloud Backup | resolved - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made a backup before flashing AR HD 3.6.
I did this backup via dropbox and HTC Cloud Backup (built in). To restore the content you normally get asked after a factory reset if you want to restore data etc. ( https://support.htc.com/en/005-HTC_One/0A0/010/010 ) but it just does not recognize any saved backup although I confirmed it IS there... So it just don't want to let me restore my saved data
Any solutions or suggestions? I don't want to downgrade to stock firmware again just to get this decent feature working^^
Need some more informations about anything? Just let me know.

Problem is resolved in ARHD v8.0.

[Q] X8 GDX backup and restore problem

Hello everyone.
So I have a pretty unique problem. I've been using GingerDX for quite some time (about 2-3 months) and i didnt get any big problems other than some lag, not that serious though.
Suddenly, my Wi-Fi stopped working, it would say it's on, but wouldn't actually connect or find any networks, so I decided to do a full wipe, didn't work, and then I reflashed the stock rom (2.1) to start all over again.
Of course I backed up all of my apps with Titanium, and I found the stock backup & restore app here in XDA.
After backing up and reflashing stock ROM, then GDX. I installed the backup & restore app with xrecovery.
Sadly, the app wouldn't recognize the .sbf file, but the older ones worked perfectly. Can anyone help me please?? I didn't have any other backups of my messages and bookmarks. Is there any way to extract that .sbf file? I've been searching for an hour and didn't find anything!!!
If you backup using TB you need use TB to recover data.
By default it is backing up only user apps+data (not system ones), so it |IS possible that you lose your bookmarks and messages
Yes, my apps are fully restored, what I'm worried about is the msgs and bookmarks, and it looks like I'm not going to be able to restore them :'(...

Nandroid restore problem

Basically I'm using ICS333 which is great and to do I was trying to make some changes to the stock contacts apps. Anyway, I did a nandroid backup via CWM 5.5 so that I can restore if anything went wrong and sure enough I flashed something meant for JB. I went to restore my backup and afterwards rebooted... except now it is stuck in a loop when it reaches the ICS loading screen.
The only way to make it boot in ICS now is to wipe all personal data... which makes the backup meaningless.
In all honesty, the only thing I really want to keep is my whatsapp and texts. I'm currently trying to restore individual bits of the backup to see what causes the problem but can I extract data from a Nandroid backup?
This day gets better, now my home button doesn't work!

yes, download a nandroid browser from play store, and try My Android solutions (link below) for a suitable remedy
For for the tips, I used Titanium backup to retrieve some of the info but didn't to junk the rest. Less crap on the phone means it runs like butter again!

[Q] regarding back up & restore for contact

Hi All,
I've just flashed my Xperia TX to Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
Before flashing, I've used the Back Up & Restore application in the phone to back u all my datas (contact+email+sms++call log+apps & games).
But after flashing is finished, I tried to restore all the data back using the Back Up & Restore once again.
But after it finished, I've found that several restored games can't be played. And all my contact + sms is not restored.
I've tried to restore it once again to no avail, although in the Back Up & Restore - Restore tab still shows that the back up do exist. (checked the .semc-fullbackup folder as well)
Is there any other way I can restore those information, especially the contacts and SMS? Because those contacts are fairly important for my job.
I didn't do back up to anywhere else, including to Google ( I know, I already regreted it)
Thanks for the help.
I faced the same problem. Luckily I backed up contacts in my Google account.
You could flash old ics ftf and restore contacts/messages. After that download contact and messages backup app from Google play. Backup and reflash JB ftf.
I know it will be annoying but if you want those content, you've to do it.
Seems the new backup & restore app has bugs.
Try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idea.backup.smscontacts
Make sure you backup the content to memory card

[Q] How to backup and restore HTC One

Hi am relatively new to this. Planning to root my HTC one and install a custom rom. Is there a way to fully backup the phone(including contacts, messages, apps, pictures, music, settings, preferences etc) essentially make a clone of the phone so i can restore between custom rom updates? I mean since custom roms are updated so often i dont want each time i upgrade to setup the phone from scratch. I want the Android Revolutuion HD rom and i dont think its upgradeable over the air. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes once you install recovery there is an option to do a full nandroid backup. You can than restore said backup - but before you restore your backup, you must wipe system/data/cache
Edit: I think I misunderstood first. You want titanium backup probably to restore data. You shouldnt backup settings and system data only app data

Titainium backup question HTC

If I am on 4.1 and use titainium to backup my data and apps, save those bachups to my pc, then unroot and ruu so I can get the 4.3 OTA. Can I restore my apps once I reroot without problems.
Yes.
Also as a side note. Use HTC backup as well. It will backup your home screens and app drawer. What I am doing is:
Flash new sense ROM
Log into Google and nothing else
download Titanium backup and restore apps
Log into HTC account and dropbox through Accounts & sync
Change backup to HTC and restore from HTC backup
Has made life so much easier than what I used to do on other phones. Phone is quickly back to just how I like it.
