[Q] Usb Host serial communication - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
What's the status of usb-to-serial devices? Is anyone able to establish communication? I mean mainly the Arduino, because after one week of fighting, still couldn't communicate. The device is recognized correctly and appears as ttyACM0, but cat/dev/ttyACM0 returns I/O error.
If someone could move on this topic here I would be grateful

Kaiser & Linux & Synce: problem to get it recognized for syncing

Hello all,
I'm trying to use Synce to synchronize the Kaiser Calendar with my KOrganizer (Calendar Application on KDE), but after several attempts, I still have some problem to get the kaiser recognized.
First of all, note that I don't have any problem to use the Internet Connection Sharing, since I can use usb_rndis kernel drivers to browse the Internet actually.
Note that I have Windows Mobile 6.5 (T.i.R. v20k) on my Kaiser and when I connect it to the USB port it prompts for a choice, wich is between ActiveSync(AS) and Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
Of course, if I tap on ICS, the rndis interface comes up, the connection to the Internet starts and I can browse... Instead, if I tap on AS, synce-kpm, doesn't become green and this is the output of pls:
Code:
** Message: Hal reports no devices connected
** Message: Odccm is not running, ignoring
pls: Could not find configuration at path '(Default)
dmesg:
Code:
usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8
usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
I use hal, of course, but it seems to not recognize the kaiser. I guess there's a fdi policy file wich is missing.
I read many guides I found either in the Synce website and other wiki, but none of them helped me. I also searched in this forum.
Please could you help me to solve this problem?
EDIT:
I've just found out that the USB_SERIAL_IPAQ module was missing.
I compiled it and now Synce-kpm is able to recognize my TyTN II.

HD7 not connecting to pc

Hi Xda, I have a problem with my hd7. I got a new phone so I gave it to a family member. After a week or so I got complaints that it wouldn't connect to the computer so I checked it out... The hd7 won't connect to any computer, I've tried every possible usb port as well as several different versions of Zune and nothing helped. When I plug it into a computer is says that the usb device is not recognized and in device manager it lists the hd7 as an "unknown device". Also in the device description it says that no drivers were loaded for the device. Is there anything I can do to fix it???

Problems connecting to a PC

Hi guys. Please help in solving the problem. Since the answer can not find anywhere else.
The essence of the problem as follows:
Phone Samsung Galaxy Note 5 GT-N9208 has ceased to be determined by connecting to a computer, does not define when I connect the phone OTG flash drive, but there is a charge easily with any charging device, including a computer. The flash mode phone is not detected on your computer (connected to different computers, the result is the same), which advise to do? Called the service center Samsung said the phone is not in our region, so they will not do it. I apologize for the English.

Moto G5s plus (sanders) wont communicate over usb at all

Alright, so I finally convinced a friend to let me root her Moto G5s plus and I have immediately run into the problem that there is no usb connectivity at all. When you connect the phone to a pc in android nothing happens apart from it charging (I've even tried on Linux and checked the kernel for usb connections), and if you put it in fastboot and connect it, windows tells you that the last device you connected malfunctioned and on further inspection the error is either "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the USB device descriptor failed." or "(Code 43) Device Descriptor check failed". I've cleaned the usb port on the phone and tried multiple computers and cables. I'm considering opening it up and rewiring the usb but I don't know if I trust myself to open someone else's phone. Anyway I'm at a loss for what to do so any help is greatly appreciated.
