[Q] No sound output after Jellybean update - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi everyone,
I have a very serious problem after I have upgraded to Jellybean(HKG 20B, Leak version and rooted)
My phone has no sound output on the ringing speaker randomly. no ringer, no alarm and no msg alert...But all the sound will come back after reboot.
Do anyone have the same problem and a clue on this issue?
I am also curious if there is any difference between the leaked version and the official version of HK 20B? The official release date is just 1 to 2 week after the leaked version...I am still thinking should I flash my device again...
Thanks
Mike

If you have audio problems that weren't there on v10 then it is definitely worth flashing again.
Make sure you verify the checksum of the downloaded file
Make sure you carry out a full factory reset

I would suggest that go back to GB, do a full wipe and then after reflash ICS. DO NOT DO A FULL IN ICS....

Rooted and flashed a custom rom on my Ace, now call audio wont come through bluetooth

SOLVED! See next post.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I flashed a custom rom (Imaginary ICS Final) on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and now the in-call audio wont play over the bluetooth stereo in my Toyota Yaris.
Music plays fine through the speakers, but the actual call audio occurs solely on my phone speaker in headset mode.
I have tried:
- removing the existing "GT-S5830" from the paired devices and re-pairing them on the stereo OSD.
- pairing the phone as "audio/phone" and then as just "phone" following the stereo manual to the tee.
- restoring my nandroid backups in CWM, but they don't work.
- flashing some different custom and stock roms with CWM, but the issue persists.
- flashing an official stock firmware from samfirmware.com with odin, but the issue persists.
Can anyone suggest further avenues of troubleshooting for me to try?
See next post.
So I did some more research and there were a few people talking about how the wireless and bluetooth radios operate according to the baseband version.
Then there were also people talking about how flashing the firmware for a different region often fixes issues with the wireless/bluetooth.
Anyway, I went back to the samfirmware page and downloaded the latest firmware for Vietnam (version 2.3.6 PDA: S5830DXKT7) and flashed it via odin. (The baseband with this firmware is S5830DXKT5)
Audio now goes through my stereo again!

[Q] Updated to 4.3 & Now SMS Sending Issues?

Hey Guys
Just updated from 4.2.2 to 4.3 and now my SMS just sits on sending unless I make a phone call 1st.
Then as soon as the call connects all my SMS's send at once.
It is fine after that unless I reboot my phone, then I have to initialize it again by making a call 1st.
The APN's are all correct and the same as they were on 4.2.2.
1st time for me experiencing this, any ideas on a fix?
Cheers!

I am using Android 4.3 since it's released (few months).
I never experienced such thing yet but as long as i know and probably your firmware is messed or it was not updated correctly (maybe missing some code or binary), You have two choices...
1- Backup anyway your want and reset.
2-Backup anyway you want and flash a new firmware.
Yeah tried twice and same crap
I am rooted but running the generic international stock 4.2.2 and both times the SMS issue arises but works perfectly on 4.2.2.
Everything else is working g perfectly.
Still have root after the update.
Perhaps I should unlock the boob loader (lol) and flash a custom rom?

headset issue - not recognized after mod

Hi.
Im on Viper 800, a sense 6 based rom, 5.0.2, lollipop, firmware 7194012.
I flashed this sound mod - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211163
In the description, my phone appears to be supported, along with the sense rom - M7 international.
After flashing, the result was this - great sound on speakers (as it should be), headset no longer recognized (sound only on speakers).
Ok, as I was doing always when facing this sort of problems, I restored a back-up version using TWRP. No matter how bad the software was messed up, this worked every time.
Not this time = the headset no longer recognized (sound only on speakers).
OK, I am writing an older back-up version = the same result.
Ok, maybe some scripts or libraries are corrupted, I am installing a NEW lollipop rom, after full wipe = the same result.
Ok, I am installing a fresh new rom, Kit Kat based = the same result.
The problem is that the automatic selection of speakers/headset is no longer functioning. I installed Soundabout apk, with allows you to manually route the sound on speakers or headset and it WORKS, but I cannot live with that - I want to repair this process in order to be automatic, as normal.
I need to understand wth is corrupted and how can I fix this...
Thank you in advance.

Afaik, sounds mod only make changes in the /system partition so restoring a nandroid backup or re-flashing the rom should fix any bug caused by the mod. Maybe its an hardware problem...
One thing that I love about Android is that no matter how deep was the **** I entered when flashing things, I never got stucked. Never, ever, and I had like 12 Android phones, rooting them all. Reading some tutorials, some topics, asking other guys.. I always solved the problems, by myself or with some help, without going to the service.
I fixed this. I wrote a fresh CM12, the result was the same (course), but out of despair, i pulled in/out the handset jack for SEVERAL times, while the music was playing and....it came back to its senses - the selection for sound output is automated again.
Thanks.
PS. It was software, not hardware - I explained above what happend when using Sound About.
The thread can be closed.

Sounds more like an intermittent hardware problem. Flashing a new rom will wipe the sound mod from /system. Maybe there was some dirt in the jack and that pulling the plug in and out several time cleaned it. It might only be a coincidence if it happened after flashing that sound mod. Anyway glad to know its now fixed. :good:
