Hi all,
I purchased 2 HTC One 64gb developers edition phones. One for myself and one for my wife. I have been on the forums and I just can't seem to find an clear answer on which carrier would suit us best.
1. As I understand it, the unlocked version does not support TMo's 1700mhz but it does support 1900Mhz which was 1700 but now its 1900. Can someone educate me on this. Is this 1700/1900 HSPA+ or LTE? I'm having trouble understanding between the two.
2. What frequency does LTE run on for TMo and At&t respectively
3. Does having the boot loader unlocked just mean that I have SU permission and I can flash custom roms but not kernels?
Any help would be appreciated...
1. The 1900 is HSPA+ only
2. T-Mo LTE is AWS (1700/2100) only, ATT LTE is AWS and 700mhz
3. The bootloader unlocked means you can flash custom roms, as I recall. You'll still need to root for SU permission.

I can answer 1 and 2. (1) The 1900 band is for their 3G HSPA+ service which t-mo brands as "4g" so if your area does not have real LTE provided by t-mo you have to have the 1900 refarm available to use 3G HSPA+ Speeds. (2) T-mo and ATT LTE are both supported by the HTC ONE DEV so you dont have to worry about that. TL;DR - LTE is good for both carriers. 3G HSPA+ needs the 1900 refarm for t-mo

Just unlocked bootloader doesn't mean you have SU permission...u gonna have to flash custom recovery then flash a custom Rom or just the SU package to.have root access

Yes, this is the correct forum. I'd advise you keep your wife's phone stock They usually aren't too fond of husbands flashing/modding/bricking their phones too often
Also, from now on, post questions in the Q&A forum for our phone.

Maybe a bit of a noob question but I just want to make sure. Does every single version of the Atrix HD sold (AT&T, T-Mobile, International) support all three of these:
AT&T 4G
AT&T HSPA+
T-Mobile HSPA+
Unlocking
Rooting
Thanks!

Thanks! Some more questions:
Is it possible to SIM unlock yourself once you have achieved root?
What is the jellybean leak people are talking about? I thought one cannot install custom roms if you cannot unlock the bootloader?
And, if no way to install a recovery, how do you recalibrate your battery when required? The play store app? Which one exactly?

Way too many questions that are answered
AT&T model has a Jellybean leak, read about it in the threads.
You can install custom rom(s) through Safestrap Recovery 3 by Hashcode. It doesn't require an unlocked bootloader, just root.
I don't do battery re calibrating?
I've bought Bell one, I rooted already with djrbliss's motofail2go. Is this Bell's the international version? So, there is 4 AHD versions: AT&T, Bell, T-Mobile and the International?
And why Razr HD does already has recovery and AHD being older doesn't have?
You haven't been reading enough then. We have recovery also.

As of this post there are AT&T and Bell variants. There is a Dev Edition coming "soon."

Just bought the HTC One from Bell Canada and need to unlock the bootloader and flash TWP and Root. That easy and all, but for the life of me cannot figure out which HTC One I have and which forum to go to. Usually all Canadian devices are AT&T versions but I guess the Canadian version for the HTC One is just the international?

This is the right forum.

The TWRP and CWM found in the AT&T forum is a repost of the ones found here.
you can flash anything from any htc one forum except the sprint forum as they are cdma not gsm
Thanks all, rooted and TWP installed. All I need to figure out is how to get the extended power menu on stock.
There's a mod but I think it requires a deodexed rom. Not sure
yeah i think it does that why I haven't tried it yet. Want to stick with stock for now.
Hi Everyone -
AT&T finally gave me the unlock code for my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900A phone. I'd like the move it to T-Mobile, but have some questions before I do:
1. Is there any way to flash the T-Mobile/N900T firmware to an AT&T N900A variant? I'm talking the official factory firmware...CSC, bootloader, radio, everything needed to essentially do a complete conversion. I'm not interested in custom ROMs based on T-Mobile's firmware and that kind of thing. I assume if there is a way, it's not as simple as flashing N900T firmware in ODIN, since it would probably fail the model checks.
2. Is there any way of enabling the 1700 MHz AWS band for HSPA+ on an N900A? I know it works fine on T-Mobile LTE and will also work on HSPA+ in areas where T-Mobile has refarmed it for 1,900 MHz. I assume the 1,700 MHz lockout on the AT&T version is probably a software limitation inside the modem firmware.
If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

I wonder why it would hard brick though. With the exception of atts bl being locked, wouldn't it all be relatively the same? Would it be possible to clean up the n900T bl to match the n900a?

Make sure you pay attention to the Modificatinator file and add the T-Mobile carrier file after installation. Works fine and much better than stock ATT junk rom.
Quick question to everybody on here... Is it possible to ODIN the baseband/modem for N900A to the N900T? I want to do this because my service provider is Cricket, which is an MVNO of AT&T. It's not a priority, but is it possible?

Probably, and if it doesn't work you can Odin the stock NC2 or NL1 firmwware back and start again with this ROM.
But why? If you're getting LTE the way your phone is (assuming Cricket is giving you LTE), you won't gain anything by flashing a different modem. (Unless you're getting a lot less signal with this ROM than you were with the NC2 or NL1 modems.)

You can check the bands and frequencies for SPRINT here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_(m8)_cdma-6233.php
For the sim unlock it is up to "firewater" compatibility, since you need to S-OFF your device first.
Regarding compatibility with firewater, your question should be: How can I make sure that my device will be supported by firewater?
The answer: You cant! Its just a matter of luck for the moment.
There are alot of people who successfully S-OFF their devices with firewater, and there are also unlucky persons like me, who cant (i got 2 devices that i cannot S-OFF).
There is also a bounty thread for people which cannot S-OFF:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733870
If SIM unlocking is your concern, I suggest you to buy it unlocked (yeah i know the price is higher).
For the time being there is no provider offering SIM Unlock for Sprint. Believe me, since I have a SPRINT standard M8 device which i cant SIM unlock for the moment.

Try the following on you responsibility
- You should know your SPC, you can read it with CDMA Workshop or CDMA DFS Tool.
- Install QSPT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2263391)
- enable diag mode ##3424#
- open QPST configuration, from port tab add your device diagnostics port.
- from start clients tab choose service programming then ok & click on read from phone.

- on UMTS System tab choose any for pref service domain & any band (last bottom right) for proffered band.

You should select what ever network type you need in order for your data to work. But if you touch any of the settings in mobile network it just stops working completely. Well at least that's what happened to me but you could also try manipulating the band's that are supported in your location

Hey guys,
Upon reading through the threads, I wasn't able to find specifics to what I'm looking for.... it's apparent that the support has stopped for this issue, which I completely understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have an unlocked ATT Note 3 on (NJ5) to be used on T-Mobile.
I'm wanting to downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.4.2 to get back to (NC2).
Can someone confirm the following: (Please add to it if I'm missing something)
Odin ATT 4.4.2 (NC2) - Anyone have the direct link?
Root - Best method?
Safestrap work around? Is this the correct thread? How about this?
Planning to flash ATT FireKat (TouchWiz based) ROM....
From my understanding:
I only have one shot at this, therefore, I want to make sure that all my ducks are in a row before doing this as a "mistake," isn't an option right? I only have one shot at this or Hard brick yes?
Questions:
After successfully doing all this, with the correct TM APN settings, will the ATT phone be able to use all TM's bands? LTE 1700, Band 4 etc....
What are any drawbacks of using the ATT N3 on TM, if any? (I'll be happy with 4.4.2 so no worries on any fancy updates.)
The phones currently unlocked right now. Will doing the steps above lock the phone back up?
Is this all worth it or should I just sell the ATT N3 and buy a TM branded one?
Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!
* I hope this post also helps anyone in the future that's in the same boat as I am.

this will give you 100% stock nc2.
Best way to root is with towel root.
with safestrap you do not need a workaround as it works perfect on nc2 you only need to do a workaround if you would like to go to 4.4.4...And for the record I've done a lot of flashing of random stuff that came from here and I did myself and I'm yet to hard brick or come from a point of no return.
all those t-mobile questions I can't answer cause t-mobile is crap in my area..
Hope this helps!

To confirm:
From a dead stop (the state my phone is at right now on NJ5)...
1. Odin NC2. (Which one specifically shall I download? I see a bunch of different links.)
2. Towel Root.
3. Put the TM Sim in...add APN's...
4. Flash ROM if desired...
5. Good to go?
Just need these 4... and if you want to rom you need to install busy box and safestrap after you root with towel root. Then yea should be good to go!

Gotcha. Thanks!
Oh and would you happen to know if the ATT device has the 1700 band (band 4) to support TM's LTE? I remember with the older devices ATT branded phones didn't have the 1700 build in, but now I'm thinking it might be different....hhmm
Also, it is unlocked right now...will the phone lock itself after all this?

Not sure but I think there is some that use att note 3 on t-mobile and works fine I'm guessing... and personally never unlocked a phone for use elsewhere as I been with att for like 10 years lol... but I really don't see it locking it personally...
Help on using 4G LTE in Pakistan
I have just received my AT&T Samsung Note 3 model SM N900A and am using it in Pakistan with warid network. I received the sim unlock code from AT&T. Warid is giving us 4G LTE service but my cell does not work on it. Since warid is not giving 3G service, my cell just connects using edge which is very slow. I actually bought Note 3 for 4G LTE but due to some reason its not working. The carrier people have no answer except that my set is not supported by their system. Can you kindly help? My set is not rooted.
Warid 4G LTE is working on 1800Mhz FDD Band 3 which is supported by my set. Other device parameters are as below:
Baseband version N900AUCUBMJ5
kERNEL VERSION 3.4.0-1625098
[email protected] #1
build JSS15J.N900AUCUBMJ5
Android version 4.3
And I would also like to know if I can update my set to newer android version or not?
Awaiting your positive response.

Question, are these files also downgrade the modem firmware to match the 4.4.2 ROM?
The reason I want to downgrade to 4.4.2, is to fix the GPS signal issue we all AT&T Note 3 owners having after the 4.4.4 update. Does anyone downgraded to 4.4.2 and GPS issues fixed?
