[Q] AT&T HTC One Pre-installed Bloatware replacing HTC default apps. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a question regarding the AT&T HTC One pre-installed apps by AT&T. Is it true that AT&T pre-install a contacts app that takes over HTC's contact default app? Also, does AT&T DRIVE MODE replace HTC Car mode (if so, I will be so pissed). What default HTC apps that are no longer accessible in AT&T's HTC One?
Thanks all in advance.

you gotta fine "market enable" in the market. its free. it will stimulate the market and make your operator change to other operator just like t-mo, then u'll be able to search paid apps.

i hope this isn't a stupid question...

Will a HTC magic from Rogers be able to access and download all of the apps available on tmobiles app page if its using at&t?
Not quite sure what you mean by T-Mobiles app page.
The phone will run any app that is written for the version of Android OS it is running (ie 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0). Beyond that there are two main streams of the OS (HTC and Google). Certain apps depend on the HTC framework to run. If you have a phone with just the Google framework, these apps will not run. If this is the case and you desperately wanted that app you could flash a ROM that has the HTC framework, and it would run.
You can loads apps from the Market using the Market app. You can also load apps from the net, or from your computer via USB.
An example of this is the Canadian Rogers Magic, a 32a device. It is based on an HTC ROM which meant you got a nicer HTC dialer, along with some craplets from Rogers. When I flashed it to RA-IONv1.6.2H, which is a Google based ROM I lost the ability to run the nicer dialer, however the Google ROMs seem to run faster.
Ah ok I understand, I think i just called it the wrong name. Thanks man!

[Q] why do sprint apps only run on the official ROMS

The subject says it all. I have been wondering for some time now why it is that the official Sprint branded apps (NASCAR, TV, FOOTBALL, ID PACK, etc) do not recognize us as Sprint customers when we are running custom ROMs. Does anyone know?
its all in the framework and i know sprint tv would work on my old mytouch before i got the hero.
I don't think it is a framework issue. It is not that they won't install. The apps will install fine. There is an authentication issue. For most when you launch the app you get a message stating you must be a Sprint customer in order to use this app. Another reason I don't think it is a framework issue is that this apps are installed on all Sprint phones with each android phone running a different framework. I could be wrong though.
It would be great if I could get Sprint apps to run on my phone.
I'm running CM7 on my Hero, and can run Sprint Nav, and Nascar as well as Sprint VVM, without issue.
I will say however, that I tried a program that allowed me to change the carrier ID tag on main stern to anything I wanted, and Nascar app stopped working, starting it was only for Sprint Customers!

[Q] Market Place Location

Hi, can anyone help
i recently bought am HTC salsa in China, only problem the Market place is defaulted to China and I'm English and want access to other app other than Chinese app. several people i know with HTC which were purchased outside of china have access to apps which are not available on my current location default
how can i change the default location for the market place
There's something on these boards showing away of changing your market ability to purchase or download out of area apps. Failing that, flash a standard version from the boards if u have root see of that unlocks it.

[Q] HTC ONE & Stock Mail App - Support for Exchange Client Certificates in EAS

Hello all,
I'm looking to use the stock HTC Mail Application with support for my Exchange-based email which requires client-side certificate authentication. I was able to do this on my Nexus 4, but NOT on the HTC One.
I know there are some 3rd party apps out there, but none that are nicely integrated, I believe.
Advice appreciated!
Seems that even the latest HTC 4.2.2 builds (Android Revolution, Clean ROM, etc.) are still missing this feature. I've resorted to using AOSP ROMs to get around this issue.
Would it be possible / suggested to replace just the stock mail app with one extracted from cyanogenmod or elsewhere? How badly could this affect Sense?
