[Q] [4.1.2] Notification Panel FC - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I'm using Stock ROM flashed using Odin with version N7000XXLSZ. When I tried to go to Settings > Display > Notification Panel, it just freeze just like something need to FC and restarted by itself. I just update the kernel with PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.90.8-signed.zip.
Before and after the kernel update also didn't work. So, Notification Panel setting was never worked with me.
Any experience?

you could reinstall the rom again after a full wipe.. or try doing a data wipe in CWM

simply flash the rom again. download it from sammobile.com and be on stock kernel. you can root it again by just flashing the attached file and get cwm recovery by using rom manager from play store.

Before you installed AOKP, Did you
root the GB2.3.3?
inztalled overcome kernel?
do a factory reset wipe and data cache wipe?
After AOKP installation, did you do:
flash gappsxxxx.zip?
do factory reset wipe and data cache wipe?
Your problem could be caused by permission problems.
EDIT: No! overcome kernel is NOT compatible with AOKP or ANY other ICS ROM.
here:
i restock my galaxy tab p1000 to 2.3.3. gingerbread with odin..
i install kmicic rom v6.0.2 via CWM..
i flash overcome tar file latest with odin..
and now its good whenever i plug it to charger or computer..
if i used it with out connecting it to charger or computer maybe i can use it to how many hours and it will turn off again by this time if i will pull out the sim and turn it on again IT WILL TURN ON AND I CAN USE IT..
did you get my phone sir? how to solve this?

seems like, your problem when you restocked your 2.3.3 you did not root your Tab and installed kmicic rom via CWM directly.
Please not that you need root access if you flash ROM from CWM.
Please install GB-stock-safe in the overcome website to ensure you to have rooted GB2.3.3 -- You can flash overcome kernel after you install GB-stock-safe before installing other ROM.
now if i use camera to picture it will turn off (
i think ROM is not the problem i think the unit is the problem but how can i fix this
even stock rom does this way (

well, look at this this way,.. you have nothing to lose installing that GB-Stock-Safe from the overcome website, or even the 2.3.6 chromed you mentioned.
Note: After install complete and run the initial setup, it is better if you do a full wipe.

[Q] [HELP] Android Keyboard & ROM Manager has stopped working.

Hello to whoever is reading this, I appreciate your help.
I recently saw Cyanogen Mod 10 on lifehacker.com and decided to change my ROM to CM 10. Its was working fine until I wasn't able to open the System Settings. I though I did something wrong and I reinstall CM 10. The first notification popped up was 'Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.' and next another one pops up, 'Unfortunately, Android Keyboard (AOSP) has stopped.' It keep crashing the stock keyboard and I only have the stock keyboard.
Next I try to uninstall CM 10 back to stock ROM, I opened ROM Manager and another notification pops up, 'Unfortunately, ROM Manager has stopped.'
So right now, I have a phone that has no system setting, no keyboard and I can't access ROM Manager.
Phone Model : LG OPTIMUS BLACK P970
ROM : CyanogenMod 10

Use recovery. (Not ROM Manager the actual Recovery.)
Sent from my LG-P970
use smart flash tool again to flash patched firmware
do full 3 wipes
I can't boot into recovery and I don't have smart flash installed.
search for smartflashtool in the p970 forum
install a stock rom with ot and cwm recovery
DON'T USE ROM MANAGER WITH OUR PHONE damn people...read...don't just take any advice on youtube
How do you want me to install it? Sorry but I'm a bit confused.
HEY!A FELLOW SINGAPOREAN!Anyways best is to dwnload the bin and fls stock rom files and use smartflashtool to flash it.I recommend v20o or v20s firmware(though there's not much difference). But your FC problem should not happen if you do all wipes b4 flashing:Wipe Data/factory reset,Wipe cache,Wipe Dalvik Cache.

[Q] Stock Rom

I'm on stock rom XXALI5
I've rooted and deleted some system apps what i'll never use n now notifications won't vibrate? not sure if it did before tbh
Anyhow i just did a factory reset and the system apps have not returned
I didn't install CF-CWM so i didn't make any back ups
I now have it installed and i was wondering where i can download the XXALI5 Uk Fw to Reinstall if that is Possible i'm still a Noob!! to android
The main reason is so i can do a Back Up of Stock Rom and then install a Custom Rom tho my current modded Stock Rom is fine and stable just no Notification Vibration ?
Thanks in advance
Unless installing the new Fw posted here will be ok, n just reroot using CF-CWM ?
Is that Possible?
What notifications don't vibrate, all or just some say messaging, email etc. Things you can check is, is vibration turned on in settings/sound.
There is also an option to have vibration on or off for received emails and messages, both in the settings of the app under the "Notification Settings" header so you can see if that is checked.
Because you have removed the apks from the system/app, doing a factory reset will not reinstall those removed apps as a factory reset will wipe the data partition, so it is good to have a backup if you are playing with the system files or have them in a flashable zip incase you edit or remove one that puts you in a bootloop.
You can download original firmware from sam mobile and samsung-updates websites and flash in either odin or mobile odin. If you flash in odin you will need to flash cwm and re root the phone, if you use mobile odin you can tick ever root option so you won't need to re root the phone or flash cwm again.
On samsung-updates there is lots of regeon options but none for uk, so which one would work for uk ? Its all new to me
And as far as i know it was just text messages that was getting no vibration..
Just made a backup on my modded stock rom n now installing Pandoriam 1.7
Hoping all goes well :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Change CM10.1 back to Stock rooted

Greetings.
Some months ago I got me an N7000 and was kinda happy with the original (rooted) rom.
I loved the multi-windows option of the 4.2.2 release. But I kinda got several slowdowns (maybe because of
some too many apps installed?), so I flashed to CM10.1.
To my disapointment there wasn't a statusbar at the top (where to conveniently choose wifi, etc) or any multi-window or s-note options.
My questions:
1.) Is there a way to enable multi window and editing the statusbar at the top or s-note?
2.) If the above isn't working out, how do I get back to the original samsung 4.2.2 rom that is still rooted?
Do I have to use Odin or similar programs, or are there easier procedures, and where do I find the rom files for flashing?
I found a manual:
http://itekblog.com/change-cyanogenmod-back-to-stock-firmware/
Is this procedure save and sound, the way you would do it?
I DID make a nandroid backup on my ext.sd. Is it possible to reflash my prior rom with that, or is this "backup" just meant for apps and personal data?
I'd love to go back to how things were,...
Thanks in advance!
It's 4.1.2.. anyway you have to use pc odin to flash a stock jb rom first boot into recovery(presumed that you are on safe kernel) wipe the system, preload, data, cache and dalvik cache and then boot into download mode then flash the rom of your country from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 then when you are done flashing the rom then to root the phone boot into recovery mode and flash the kernel corresponding to your country's rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191

Thank you for the fast reply.
Just for the record: Is there an option for multi-window, or s-pen/note in CM10.1?
Multi window not yet
For snote you can use alternatives from the play store

[Q] galaxy note wont be recognized by either kies or odin

i flashed to 4.2.2 this morning but i didn't like it so i decided to go back to stock jelly bean but i can't !! kies wont connect to my phone it would just keep loading and loading and never actually open the phone itself so i tried downloading the drivers manually but then odin doesn't recognize at all i tried unitsalling kies , updating , reinstalling nothing would ever work ! but y laptop recognizes the device and i can acess the files but other then this nothing
====update=====
i tried flashing with mobile odin and now it is stuck on samsung blue logo just keeps doing the animation over and over so i connected to pc and odin recgonized and flashed the rom again but then it is stuck on a boot loop and i tried wiping cache and factory data reset but wont work
What rom did you flash. Ics or JB. Install Philz kernel and do a wipe data reboot. If still no go then wipe system data cache and preload and reboot into download mode and flash stock rom again.
Rebooting in recovery and clearing cache and dalvik cache may help..

It didn't here. I went back from XXLT4 (rooted) to XXLT4 (stock non-root) using ODIN, and the problem was gone. Then I flashed PhilZ 4.93.6 kernel, and the problem was back. No connection, neither USB or Wifi. I was on a rooted stock kernel before, but have no idea what the problem was.
So, as soon as I root the firmware, the connectivity is gone.
Update: it's back. I have no idea why, I'm still on XXLT4 + latest PhilZ kernel.
Next problem: Where can I edit the newly added lockscreen shortcuts? Could it be that flashing PhilZ kernel removed that feature from the settings menu? I can't find it... and I've definitely seen it before I rooted.

Why do you want to flash Philz kernel..just root your phone on the stock kernel..JB stock kernel is bug free..
Go to settings--lock screen--swipe and there you have the option to change it on stock lock screen..do you have a custom lock screen??

Thanks! I used PhilZ because it came with cwm, built in root and was easily available.
Do you know how to go back to stock kernel without a full install? (and keep cwm and root). Something like a XXLT4 German / DBT kernel in a ZIP zile I can flash from recovery? I simply don't know where to find that.
Mybe SCS information is missing.*#1234# and view SCS code.
My CSC information is currently "N7000OXALT4" and nothing more. I was half expecting "DBT" behind that. Could that really be the problem?
Looks like I should go for a new nandroid backup & CSC reset?

The stock kernel is the zImage which is included in the stock rom, and can be flashed.

Thanks, I figured that out in the meantime, packed zImage into another flashable ZIP and signed it. Now I can theoretically flash it using "mobile ODIN" (to keep root) or from CWM. It's still not the perfect solution since I would definitely want CWM. So currently, I keep running PhilZ and wait for a better solution for the lockscreen icon issue.
whats the issue with lock screen? sorry for asking but after reading the thread i got confused.
