Technically speaking, the main difference between ODEX and DEODEX is the way the Dalvik decompiles the apks on first boot. It takes less time for the decompiler to extract dex files from a .odex than from a full apk, so when the dalvik cache is built (only on first boot as i said) you'll have to wait a bit less.
That said, this should be the only difference! However, comparing the two minis I've, one with DMod v4 and the other with DMod v2, the latter is a bit faster in opening apps. I don't know if this is just a matter of different tweaks and scripts though.

and when you do deodex a stock rom
be prepared to wait a while
over 100 files that need to be deodexed depending on which ones you are wanting to deodex that is
from what i know, odex rom is faster than deodex.....

Im stuck between criskelo v8 and kingdroid v4.3 and id like to take some things from criskelo and insert them into kingdroid, would this be possible? For example i think the keyboard on criskelos rom is easier to use than the samsung keyboard. Also would it be possible to extract apks? Thanks
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
Well you can use 7zip to take things from 1 ROM and place them into the 2nd ROM, then flash the 2nd ROM.
Or you can make a nandroid of your current ROM and use titanium backup to extract certain things from it and restore them on another ROM.
theres a few ways of doing it, But i think the above will be the quickest
How would i know what each thing is?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
Well apps will be under /system /app - so look there for system apps like the music player , keyboard and so on.
Tell me what exactly you want and i'll tell you where to find them
Criskelos keyboard, the beats apk and maybe a few other things, i cant remember most likely more apks
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
well the keyboard is called AxT9IME and the beats is just a mod
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69014495/SoundPackage_RocketRom.zip
Although on criskelos rom it was an actual app instead off an equalizer just?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium HD app
what was the app ? awesome beats ?
that will install when you flash the sound package
did it also give you walkman app too ?
Nope just awesome beats, thanks for your help mate
P.s would you recommend rocketrom over kingdroid or criskelo?

Full wiping doesn't delete the odex files.
correct answer: reinstall the rom without full wiping

you must deodex all apk and jar on system/app and system/framework.. use xultimate or dsixda kitchen..
using xultimate can deodex with installation rom on your phone.. using dsixda u must deodexing before u install rom.. extract rom >> deodexing >> build rom..

Works on any launcher.
The new full service zip should do odex roms too tho just need confirmation lol
Its done via adb - just plug n patch when you run the batch file.
Oh, should also work on linux and even mac osx if you know how to run a script.
Just grab the last attachment here http://goo.gl/IvGL1

Go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ look up phone model number, then country code which should be KSA for your phone. Download the firmware and extract it to desktop. Next make sure phone has 75% battery, then take out battery put it back in boot to download mode. Start odin as admin plug phone in and make sure you see a blue box with comport no. here) then click pda and find the file you extracted click start and wait for it to finish.
