So I accidentally formatted my /system when trying to format everything else for a fresh ROM install, and now my phone is totally empty.
When I attempt to plug in the phone to move over a rom to try and reflash, my computer reads the drive as a disk drive.
I'm super confused and don't know what to do help please?
Thanks
Edit: Forgot to add, I can put in to the bootloader & CWM
Hi
Greetings,
If can access the phone as disk drive then you can copy past the Rom in your virtual sdcard
Boot into recovery
And install the Rom.
If that is not possible use abd sideload to push the Rom and install

you can adb push a rom over to your phone and load from there.
adb sideload <romname>
i format the system every time i flash. its not a bad thing to do.

Hey guys.. I have flashed a few roms to my Raider now, but my internal SD is a mess - lots of old left-over install folders, leftover app bits..etc. When I'm in CWM Recovery, I found an option to format the internal SD card. My question is this: What will that wipe? Everything?? Does it wipe out my CWM and the installed ROM as well?? I'm scared to try it, bc I don't want to brick my phone. I'm not real familiar with pushing files to the SD card thru ADB (actually I just know its possible, no idea what the commands are) so I don't want to have to go that route, but I'd REALLY like to wipe my internal storage and clean it up.
Ideas?
I recommend going into your settings when your booted into android. So long as you have no apps installed to the I.internal sd card you are safe to format.

i would not use the CWM option to do that, it is a port and not fully supported and i know on some other devices (not sure about vivid) but that would soft brick the device
I always use the windows format and change the allocation size while I'm at it. Just backup what you need and copy it over when you are done. Since there are a lot of leftover bits I'd recommend not doing a quick format. The method in which you format probably doesn't matter but I like working from the computer when it comes to this stuff.

And formatting the *internal* storage from USB storage mode in Windows won't clear out my HoliRaider ROM? I just don't wanna brick my phone its running awesome now thanks to bananacakes.

No, the rom is installed on its own partition. I've formatted with no issues after I rooted and debloated my phone

Sorry if its noob sounding. I don't care about my data. Factory would be great but how do I exactly load the file onto my device? It can't mount on my computer and I don't know how to access the sd card other than mounting. Thanks again
When this happened to me I used Wug's toolkit to restore it to factory defaults. All the instructions are within the tool.

You might not need to do a factory reset. If you are in recovery...use adb to copy a ROM:
adb push {Filename} /sdcard
Wait for it to complete and then reboot back into recovery and flash the copied siles..Done it loads of times and it works

This is Nexus 7 thread, not bloody samsung.
Check wug's Nexus 7 root toolkit thread, you will easily Flash stock system image. Or do as manasgirdhar suggests.

Yup I'm back, thanks again guys.
I really hope someone can help..
I'd previously installed CWM and rooted my one, but was still using the stock ROM (.13)
I wanted to wipe my One and have a fresh start after having tried out a load of apps and trying to get the menu/logo mods going..
I chose to wipe everything through the android settings, but my SDCard was still full of my stuff afterwards, when I'd chosen to remove it all..
I then made my mistake. I booted into CWM and chose to format a few of the different options it allows under Mounts and Storage. tbh, I exactly forget which now.
Now, it'll still boot into CWM but wont get past the HTC splash screen when booted normally.
I have nandroid backup I originally took while rooting available on my PC, as well as a image.zip I made at the same time.
Would anyone be kind enough to help me resurrect it pleeeease?
panic over..
just in case it helps out anyone who does something similarly dumb:
I copied my backup.zip onto a USB drive, connected it using a USB OTG cable and CWM let me restore it from that = booting HTC one.
However, you can push the rom into the sd when you're on recovery and with a pc type:
Code:
adb push name_of_recovery /sdcard

Thanks.. I'll keep that for the next time I stuff it up!
Hello everyone.
I have encrypted my HTC Sensation XL using Bitlocker in Windows 8.1 Pro. After that, i have removed the phone from pc and tried to access sdcard which is unavailable. It says sdcard unmounted. I tried to mount it in the recovery and re try to access it in phone / in PC but cant do that.
Please suggest me any way to use my sdcard. I have important data which I cant loose. I think, using adb, we can pull files (all folder / sdcard) on to the computer? I dont know if we can do that. If so, please tell me the command. (remember, all folder).
Iam using the rooted HTC Sensation XL with HBOOT v1.28 and Recovery CWM 6.0.27 with 3Musketeers Insanely Cool ROM v3.0
Please help
Hi guys,
I turned on my phone and suddenly it doesn't boot (stays on HTC logo)
I booted into recovery (Using Team Win Recover v2.4.4.0)
My Vivid doesn't boot to any ROM (TeamWin recovery says no OS)
I can't mount my internal storage and when I try to factory reset it shows
"E: unable to mount /emmc"
"E: unable to mount internal storage"
The drive doesn't show up in Windows 7.
I did SEARCH and did the method of formatting the drive but that was doing only the SD card not the internal.
Internal doesn't show up at all.
Any help?
I read something about RUU, how would I do that?
Please Help, I have no working phone ATM.
Do a search in q&a (or general) for RUU, and you should find detailed instructions on how to perform it.

If that's the case... You might be in trouble...
Try this...
Remove the micro SD card... And try mounting again...
Also... If you have some patience... Try using Ubuntu and the program Gparted (I think)... You may have better luck

Now my root doesn't work right.
Titanium says root isn't working and Superuser says failed.
I tried flashing VIVID_CWM_ROOT_VER2 and it's says it works.
