Hi guys
Updated google play music earlier today and ever since, I drain like 10-15% of battery/hour when listening to music on the device..... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I used to do. Any ideas? except for change player or reset etc...
There's nothing to be done.
Wait patiently for new updates.

New to Android. Have just sussed out how to root my N7. Would like to know how to downgrade as well. New music player looks like someone ate an entire box of orange creamsicles and then vomited on my tablet.
Just download Google Play 4.5.914i here. It's in System Apps v1.

I've updated mine too, but my battery drains about 2%/hour listening offline. Maybe its because we don't have online play music here in Brazil yet...

BeyondPod for me too. Well worth the bucks.

Goggle listen is simple but free and works very well. You can stream if you please but i always download. It will also delete after you listen
Most of the them you can download and stream at the same time.... Beyond pod and doggcatcher seem to be the favorites

Yes, you can download the podcasts, actually you can define some rules to get it downloaded automatically...
The interface isn't something you can proud, but the app just works...

weird thing is 'listen' is made by google itself, i think it says pretty much... ehehe
Beyondpod is my favourite, but Doggcatcher is very good as well. Both are worth what they cost and both will import your Google Reader and Listen subscriptions.
I just got an Sview cover and I am really liking the feel of it. My only annoyance with the case is that I can't play my music through the music app on the sview lock screen. All my music is on google play and so I can't play any of them on the samsung music player. Is there a way to switch the music app to the Google Play on the S-view lock screen? I'm probably guessing I have to root for someone to figure this out?

When you view your purchased music on Google play there's a little pin that you can click that will download it to your device instead of streaming it every time you play it.

Then I guess you can't do it with Google Play music if that's the case.
I can confirm that Gear is working with poweramp, it can control music and display metadada ( song name etc...). Just open a music file with an file.explorer and set the type of file.to be open with de desired program. After that the gear will work work with it.

did you have to do anything to it? i wonder if i rooted the note and deleted the samsung music app if that would help?
I couldnt get google music to play. Even if google music was active in memory, if I pressed next track on media player on watch - Samsung player would play.
I needed a way to make google music the default player. Google search turned up:
Default App Manager Lite (free)
By appiator
Just use the above app to make google music your default music app. Now gear always plays google music. Plus no need to uninstall Samsung music player or root gn3.

SO, just to be 100% clear before I drop $300 lol, this will make it so the stock Gear music controller controls PowerAmp? As well as S Voice launching through PowerAmp for music? My Motoactv just died and the only way I could justify moving away from it is if this had proper remote features to the PowerAmp since I need my custom EQs for my 86 BMW's speakers. If this is all true, as long as I love my Note 3 coming Monday I will be ordering a Gear ASAP! Thanks in advance guys!
It seems that you need to start the desired music player first on the phone. After that all the commands from gear goes to the opened app. That's my case. I tried to set power amp as the default with app manager lite but it seems that doesn't work.

If so, how much memory does the gear even have? Lol

Wait, I'm confused. It appears that some are talking about controlling PowerAmp on the Note through the Media Controller while some are talking about running it on the Gear itself. I want to know if I can use the Music controllers on music players besides Samsung's. Also, I've heard that as soon as the Gear times out and the display turns off that you have to navigate back to the media controls. Is this true and is there any way to avoid it?

Thats where I'm sorta confused myself. I wanna know if I can use my gear to control Poweramp on my phone. Everytime I use the Media Controller, it opens up Samsung music app. As for when the display turns off, I press the power button on the Gear and it's still in the Media Controller. Its cool how it shows song of name etc.

The walkman on the Z1 is awful, it crashes fairly frequently, skips songs randomly, doesn't show album artwork properly and keeps trying to sign into the Sony network.

Walkman is the best music app I have used. Use the download music info to get all the album art. It has never forced closed on me on my z zl or z1. Try and clear app data. As for links buy the app from google play, you won't find links to pirated software on XDA support the devs.

Not sure why your having so many problems with the Walkman Player. Have you tried clearing the data? I used many of the music players and even purchased a few (like PowerAmp) but for a free included app, Walkman is great. I fix album art with a mp3 editor app. Are you looking for a pirated copy of PowerAMP? Its worth the price.

I used to use Google Music as my primary player but I am in love with the walkman player. I used to use GMusicFS to mount those songs in Walkman but eventually found it easier to just keep my favorite albums on my phone as even with that I had skips in my music. I do keep it installed though in case I want to listen to anything else. At about 18,000 songs so far, I love that service.
