I just got my xperia z last week from Sony and I love everything about it. I just have a question; is it normal to have a slight yellowish tint at the bottome of the screen?
No,go replace it.

Thanks for the reply. Just wondering will it go away over time? Will the calibration app fix this issue?

I would do what gm007 recommends. Replace it. Had the yellow tint problem on the xperia s. Related to overheating behind the screen. Got it replaced by Sony.

Definitely not normal for the Xperia Z screen. You better send it back asap to have the highest chance of a direct swap.
Thanks guys I setup a RMA with sonystyle. Hopefully everything will go well
I've searched on this forum but can't seem to find an answer to my situation.
If there is a double post please post link.
Anyways, When looking especially from the top or the bottom of my Sony Z at wide angles there is the transparent column visible on the screen. From top to bottom. Not noticeable when the screen is off.
See picture. It's on the left partially over the skip forward symbol.
Looking straight at it is not a problem.
Is this a tft design weakness or hardware problem?
It seems hardware problem but you can try another firmware just to make sure it's not a software glitch.

It can't because it is rooted right?
Bootloader still locked though.

Well I reflashed to stock. Still there.
It's a hardware problem it seems.
Cheers.
Soo, my xperia z fell in a sink with water, the flaps were closed, etc. The phone wasnt damaged and everything is working, etc. But one of the strips has turned red :l
Warranty lost if the strip is red but phone not damaged? How to get it back white? Other suggestions? Anyone had this happen to their phone?

Now that's pretty odd. Hmm, maybe its nothing. Try this,if you are running on an old firmware install the latest from the update centre,if you already are using the latest firmware try resetting it,not just the settings but with the data being wiped as well.

I said it was a software problem caused, you said "The phone wasnt damaged and everything is working, etc." or did you forget? Now that I know you got water in the phone it really is water.

Yeah saw that. You are right now he knows that his hardware is damage and not his software.
Dude I think u will lose ur warranty if the strips change colour from white to red. U have to fight with service center asking them its waterproof. Or ask them to check it because water damage can be solved before it starts to rust.

Can you compare normal manual shots against 20mp in superior auto? any significant improvements? Thanks in advance
Whoa, this is great. Superior Auto taking 20mp pics, yay! But I've updated mine already and I'm afraid something bad might happen to my phone... Can we do flashing to an unrooted phone?

Flashing can be done on an unrooted phone provided that you flash the right FTF. You can get it in the general section.

Is it fixed to 20MP or can you choose between 20 and 8? I prefer 8 most of the time, 20 would be overkill for me...

No clue. Deleted all the stuff from recovery. Even before boot. IIRC yes, I'm 99% sure there was Japan one and 95% for China one.

Hey, anyone could provide me with some samples vs the manual mode in 20MP?
I want to flash it but I got it 3 days ago so I haven't "pushed it to the limit"...
Well i just got my sony xperia z3 dual sim and when i checked the camera its too blurred and stuff, but when i take close pictures its sharp and clear the problem is its too blurry if you take somehow far. Is there wrong?
I think a problem is in focus. Camera doesn't have time to focus or something's wrong with a camera. When in camera app, try to tap on a screen anywhere (it's going to do manual focus).
Nothing happens if i tap, a little gray square appears but doesnt focus the object

I had the same problem. I send it to Sony for repair and get a new phone instead after 2 weeks, cause they couldn't repair it.
Upload pictures so we can see the problem
I dont know how to upload pictures on the xda forums app though.

If you haven't unlocked your bootloader and your camera quality is still blurry send it back to Sony, they'll either clean the lens ( or replace it if you still have warranty )

If cleaning the lens doesn't solve it and you still have warranty they would probably replace the lens free of charge but that's a worst-case scenario
