I'd say the FTF file you downloaded is corrupted.
Delete the file and download again.

Hi friends i wan to install Curiosity ROM for my xperia t and my boatloader is locked due rooting it so i have to follow these steps
Use flashtool to flash any generic 7.0.A.1.303 ftf.
- Root using Bin4ry's method.
- Install CMW for locked bootloaders.
- Download ROM and CWM & with Reboot fix, and copy them to internal/SD memory.
- Enter recovery, and make wipes [wipe data / factory reset, and also wipe dalvik cache (advanced ---> Wipe Dalvik Cache)].
- Flash the ROM, and followed before reboot the CMW Recovery for locked bootloaders.
- Flash stock kernel .489 with Flashtool.
- Reboot, and after entering PIN, wait for a couple of minutes.
- Recommended restart again before start working.
I have downloaded ftf file and pasted it in firmwares but flashtool is not showing that file plz help

I have downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918397 generic 7.0.A.1.303 ftf. file but actually thats a zip file not ftf
Can you tell me how to convert that file to ftf
Extract it using Windows explorer.
Also, in flashtool when you browse for the ftf file it does not show the ftf file. Just browse to the folder where it is and click ok. You will see the voice of ftf files in the next dialogue box

Dont worry, I can see from your screenshot that flashtool has loaded the ftf file. Just attach in flashmode and it will go through the process.
If you do not know how to enter flashmode then read this which is what I suggest all new users do before they decide to start flashing and rooting

Hello,
i have the same problem, i downloaded and extracted the FTF files and located them in several carpets, no location let the flashtool recognize the file, also can´t drag and drop,
using windows 10 64b
Got the firmware from here;}:
http://www.firmwaremobile.com/index.php/xperiadownload/category/22-go
tried the last two,
Thank you.
i tried almost all metods to convert zip to ftf but cant got success...kindly help guyz so I can ROOT MY Z1....PLZZ
You don't have to "Convert" but just to rename the extensions of the file to flash it. For example if it is C6903_Unbranded.zip you have change it to C6903_Unbranded.ftf. If you do not see the extensions on your PC go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalizations > Folder Options > View, then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", now you can rename it, flash it and click thanx.
done what you say

I don't know if this make difference but it should be in C:\Program Files\Flashtool\firmwares. Then if you can see yet the FTF that mean is something wrong with flashtool or the file which you downloaded. When I downloaded the file from NUT link I don't get .zip file but a normal .ftf file so I don't know yours where it come from but one guy had the same problem like yours and he just renamed the file and everything was gone fine. Try to download the file from different source. On this Video Tutorial by Shem, in descriptions there are links to download the .534 ftf by NUT, redownload again and let me know.
i downld the same

What the hell are you doing? Who told you to flash .514? It do not exist. Download from HERE the C6902 14.1.G.2.257 Commercial/Journalist 1277-1348_R1A and flash it on your phone. Turn on your phone and check if everything is ok, switch it off and hold volume down and connect in flashmode, then Downgrade again to C6902 14.1.G.1.534 Generic TW, Root this Firmware with Bin4ry Application and when you are rooted then follow the instruction to update to .290 from HERE, then update again to .136 from HERE. Read carefully all the instructions. This method is for Locked Bootloader and if you do all correctly you will have .136 fully rooted.
thanx for help

Hi, when I try to install CWM on my rooted Xperia SP, once the command prompt displays "daemon started successfully" nothing else seems to happen.
Is there anyway to try to figure what might be going wrong?
Thanks for the help

I will read through thoroughly the thread posted above and try everything suggested. I just want to mention that I was using flashtool.
One thing I'm unclear about, so of the zip have an 'i" for install or an 'f' for flash. The one I've been trying to flash has an 'i'. Was I using the wrong one?

Bro.. You can't flash a zip through Flashtool... the recovery should be in the extension of a ".img" or ".elf" or ".sin" file...
open the ZIP file and you should see a boot.img or kernel.elf file.... just extract it and flash via flashtool...
Flash it in Fastboot mode..
try it... and tell... Hit thanks if it helped... :good:

Make sure your phone is fully charged (minimum recommended value 70%). Now follow these steps below :
1) Connect your phone in MTP (Media Transfer Port) mode with your PC.
2) Open PC Companion and wait phone to be detected, after detection go to update option and click Repair My Phone/Tablet.
3) Leave the device until repair finishes.
Another method :
1) Flash 4.1.2 firmware from here Xperia SP 4.1.2
2) Flash it via Flashtool.
3) Extract the Kernel.sin from the stock FTF file (Android 4.3) you previously have downloaded.
4) Open Flashtool (By Androxyde) and then open tools->sin editior and select Kernel.sin where ever you extracted it.
5) Click extract data and wait.
6) Once you get the kernel.elf file rename it to boot.img.
7) Flash it as kernel via Flashtool.
8) Now select the stock FTF (Android 4.3) you downloaded and then before flashing look into right side you'll see an exclude option box.
9) Exclude kernel.sin and flash the FTF.
Check and see if any of the above methods work for you.
Hit thanks if I helped you.
