This works on a USC gs4. Try it on a sprint one.

Does the Dev/T-mo Moto X have the stock tethering built in?

I have seen tutorials for enabling tethering, but does this apply to every version of the X? Does the T-Mobile/developer version have the built in stock android tethering setting?
It is there, but doesn't work in 4.4. Rumor has it that it was fixed in 4.4.2; we shall see.
The stock tethering always worked fine for me with dev/tmobile 4.4, I was using it with a different provider though.
Yeah I have plans of using it with AT&T, but loosing tethering would be a major loss.

Yep. I use the T-Mobile model on AT&T as well. Tethering works fine out of the box for USB and wifi no problem.

AT&T Galaxy S5 on T-Mobile Network HotSpot and tethering.

I am using my AT&T Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A) on T-Mobile Network. It is working just fine but the only feature that I can not make work is Mobile HotSpot or Tethering. I get Mobile Data is not available or invalid SIM. Can someone advise please.

just follow the link then read and watch the video before you do anything and of course your phone has to be rooted. I tried it on my at&t s4 and it works just fine. http://highonandroid.com/android-ap...n-rooted-android-att-t-mobile-sprint-verizon/
Thanks ROMEOH
Your instructions worked like a charm. Thanks a lot.

Verizon Tether

I got my OG Moto X upgraded to a new Moto X. I'm on vzw unlimited and currently tether using PDANet bluetooth or USB. Unrooted.
How does tethering work on the Moto X (2014)?

WiFi tethering on an unrooted Verizon MX14 works the same as it does on any other unrooted Verizon phone - it depends on your plan. If you have a plan where WiFi tether is included for free, then you can tether for free. If your plan does not include free WiFi tether, then when you try to open the MHS, you will be offered the option to pay $30/mo for WiFi tether - the so called entitlement check.
If you root, you can bypass the entitlement check and tether for free.
If you don't want to root, you can turn the $30/mo WiFi tether feature off and on as much as you want in a month either online through your Verizon account or through the MyVerizon app on your phone and you will only be charged for the days you turn it on. If it is on for any part of a day, you will be charged for a full day of use. It is about $1/day to use it plus taxes and surcharges that vary based on your state.
As you already know, PDANet only allows for USB and BT tether on a MX14. If you are interested in free WiFi tethering on your MX14, check out the MoFo thread in this forum.
Wifi doesn't matter to me. Bluetooth or USB are just peachy, just wasnt sure if they worked on the new Moto X like they do the old one. You never know with vzw.

PDANet on 5.0 Lollipop worked on my Verizon MX14 the same as it did on my MX13 - USB and BT only. We are about to get an update to 5.1 and so only time will tell if that will be the case for 5.1.
A minor correction: VZW no longer allows you to add a tethering plan for $30 a month on a grandfathered unlimited plan. At least, that is what I was told when I tried to add it.

That's correct. You can change do literally jack **** when you have the unlimited plan.

T-mobile to Verizon.

Will the t-mobile version work on verizon if I change the firmware? Or even better. Will it work if I switch it to the U version just like my T-mobile s7 edge did?
Hey there, yeah it works great

wifi only rom on carrier tab s2

I have a tab S2 from Sprint I don't plan on putting service back on (have hotspot on my phone now). There isn't much development for the Sprint variant. Could I just flash a rom meant for the WiFi only variant? Or am I SOL?
