[Q] Cannot exclude folders from Album app - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Can anybody tell me how i can exclude some folders which contain images from showing up in my Album ?
i found a few replies regarding this in other forums but none of them worked and I tried asking in talk.sonymobile.com but it was useless.
I tried the .nomedia file creation method, Quickpic method and adding dot to the folder name method.
I tried all those methods to prevent the pics that i get via whatsapp from not being shown in my album. As you may know the pics that we download via whatsapp gets stored inside "Whatsapp images" folder.
I tried to put a blank .nomedia file into the folders and then cleared cache and data of both Album app and Media storage. Then after doing all that i rebooted my phone. I can still see the pictures in there in my Album app once i add a new pic into the folder.
Am running .253
i would really appreciate it if anybody could help me out
I am 100% positive that there are many people who would love to have a solution for this.
If you need anymore info then do please let me know.

the .nomedia way worked for me. but the trick is cleaning data and cache of the media server/media storage (don't know the exact name at the moment) in settings->apps, and then restarting the phone.
after a restart, album will be empty and start rescanning your storage. when finished, you'll see that there won't be the .nomedia folders included anymore.

[Q] DataCreate.apk what is it?

In \system\app directory what is functionality (purpose) of the "DataCreate.apk"
what does it do?
what is the result of removing it?
before saying anything about searching read the below statement:
I've searched in google, XDA and other forums about this apk but none seemed to know what is it so I am going to ask here.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Inside the apk there is a sound file inside res/raw called mp3_1khz.mp3 which has very annoying sound any idea why does the app need this?
EDIT2: link to the mp3 file I was talking about http://www.mediafire.com/?2zay7j6xrlfyjs1
WARNING: The file is really annoying
Request: if the file is important can someone delete that sound file from the apk and re-upload it (JVH deodexed )

I deleted now and I am going to report if there are any negative consensuses
don't think that it is use (spying on us)
Ok
In first reboot (phone rebooted it self)
Second reboot (Email crashed)
EDIT: Doing some reboots and dalvik cache cleaning to see what will happen.
EDIT2: It seems that its needed for phone without it phone will reboot itself.
I though someone knew about this apk so I posted here.
I found what I wanted to know so this thread is officially CLOSED.
Conclusion for future reference this file is necessary for EACH boot.
However I could delete the annoying mp3 file which is 1.8mb by using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681633
It's from Samsung. Have a look into classes.dex, there are lots of sample contacts (near the end of it). There are references to samsungtest. Maybe this app can be used to create demo or test data.

[Q] CacheManager

I was just looking through the Internal Storage of my HTC One and in the .data folder is a folder called "CacheManager" with almost 2000 files inside that are about 15-50kb each. There are multiple files created each day and go back all the way to when I got my phone. Can anyone tell me what these files are and if they are safe to delete?
Thanks
Can anyone tell me what CacheManager is or if you also have this on your device too?
Thanks
Its exactly what the name says ... "Cache Manager" ... its a quick save for all kind of small image files which can be used locally instead of fetching from the web or other places ... i believe you can delete the whole thing ... it will just start caching again
Thanks for the response. I figured that each app has its own cache and the browser has its own cache, so what's being cached in CacheManager? I couldn't find any information about it on the forums or anywhere online.
I was clearing some of the caches on my apps but noticed that my CacheManager folder is still growing. Almost at 3000 files now. If it's not app's cache, then what is it? I'm just curious because I've never had this folder on all my previous android phones.
Has anyone learned more about what this CacheManager folder contains?
I too noticed this folder cache manager under .data growing despite clearing my cache via app functions. I deleted the whole folder since I couldnt delete the individual files. Everything works still and the folder thus far hasn't recreated. Edit ... The folder did recreate later... But the 8000 files within did not.

Disappearing picture thumbnails on custom rom

So when i change rom to ressurection remix (on cm i had same problem) i notice that my picture thumbnails in every single one gallery are disappearing. i can view them (sometimes not...) but when i browsing folders some thumbanils are showing but then they disappearing. Only restart of phone help but only for few pics. What do ? its not about pics cause on new photos, thumbnails missing too.
Maybe it's the same issue I had, this fixed it:

It the app that scans for media and creates the thumbnails. Sorry, I don't have CM13 installed anymore, I think the app name is Media Server, you can check it using Link2SD.
I had the same folders as you, and it fixed the problem I had (lots of missing thumbnails). You may want to delete this too, it's the music album covers, not in the gallery:
/sdcard/Android/com.android.providers.media/

Stock samsung gallery app

Hi, i have a lot of old files that i transfered to my note 5 but nothing shows in the stock gallery, only new videos or photos, didnt had that problem with note4, any solution?
Tnx
Try using a file Explorer and moving files that aren't detected to a new folder on the phone and restart ...it might help... but if u are talking about pics from whatsapp or something it might not work.. I have no idea why

Zrcam uninstall or .thumbdata3-1763508120 fix

I have sony Xperia Z1 with stock rom and xposed flash. Obviously rooted too. If i have missed anything, you can ask me in the comments section
I have flashed zrcam but when I click pictures, they are very huge. I do not have any problem with it being captured as i can delete them but what makes me worried, is that two thumbnail files have being created in my thumbnails folder which is currently taking up 2.69 and 2.68gb of my storage each. One of the file name is .thumbdata3-1763508120.
I have tried deleting these files but they appear back again or my camera stops working. I rebooted the phone several times and the camera started working with those massive files appearing back again. Also i have tried deleting pictures in those thumbnail folder but the size of the thumbnail file doesn't decrease. Pictures taken from my phone are saved in sd card and these stupid files are in the internal memory .
My question is, is there any way i could delete this file or i could delete the zrcam? Where can i get the stock camera app to flash. Sorry but i didn't back it up. I never knew i would face this issue. Please if anyone could help me that would be great!
Thanks a lot!

I have disabled the album app and then deleted those files but after sometime the files appear back again, the gallery app being already disabled. And i do not even have gbs of pictures. It can be 1gb total, maybe! Why are these files so big??

I have tried this trick by creating a file of the same name but that stopped my camera app. The app started crashing, so i rebooted back again and it was fine but on the other hand, the files came back again too, lol
