Been having a browse about on the net to see if there was a larger capacity battery available for the NFC version (which has the NFC antenna in the battery). It would seem that not only are there no extended capacity ones, but there are no places you can buy a normal genuine replacement from. Short of going to Samsung direct, does anyone have an idea where to get one from, and maybe a spare battery charging cradle too?

I've been having a helluva time with the new (internal) batteries available in the market ever since the original Furukawa battery died - the new batteries dont seem to be able to hold charge as well as the original one.
I was wondering whether it would make sense to connect two original nokia batteries (the bl5 looks thin enough) in parallel and connect them to the XDA using the same circuit board that's attached to the furukawa.
(If this works, the battery would maybe even provide more power than the original one!)
Anyone know if this would work?
The nokia battries are about 800mAH each, so if I connect them in parallel, would that raise the rating to 1600mAH?
Cheers

delayed answer but.. still...
Having an OLD battery on my thing... I'm also considering a "home made battery". Yes, it can be done.... I see no major problems. But remember that a battery = battery + protection circuit. If you put them in paralel, I guess it would be a better idea to strip the two nokia batteries from the protection circuit and use only the ORIGINAL one....
But this is still theory, I didn't tried it yet. But, I'm considering.
The best solution would be in finding a BIG flat battery, not connecting two in paralel.....
bye
If the batteries have the same voltage, and you still have your old one, you could open up all 3 and replace the cells from the nokia with the old cells. The use some shrinkwrap or tape to cever the old on up and plug it back in. As long as the voltages are the same (and they should be if you swap just the cells) then yes you'll have a much higher capacity battery to play with.
Guys, I have heard a *rumor* that there will be a bigger capacity battery for Diamond, is this something *true*?
And I am wondering if the bettery life will be shortened by always connecting it to the PC. I actually connect my Diamond with notebook for most of the time I am in the office. Dont know if this will do harm to the battery.
Any comments are welcomed!
There is a bigger battery available as an extra I think - that's probably what you've heard about. It requires a different back part for the phone though.
The Touch Diamond will charge off any computer it is connected to, so that will be good for its battery and bad for the computers battery if you're running off that.
I believe (so I've heard) that the extended battery will be a 1350 mAh one sold with a new back to take it.
Seems confirmed by the HTC Europe Accessories site itself.....

Yes there will be an optional larger cap battery. Don't know what size though. It does require a larger back cover (think you will get it with the battery).
If it is a 1350 then there's a possibility that it's the touch Pro's standard battery. But that's just speculation.
I'd like to use a spare battery for my legend, but i want to charge it with an external charger (i.e. not inside my legend).
Does anyone knows if exists something like that?
Thanks
Some spare batteries you purchase on eBay come with external chargers for a slight increase in price.

I would like to try that too, in this case for one of those many HTC Legend phones that can no longer fully charge their batteries.
The question is, how does the phone deal with a battery that has been externally charged? Does the phone recognize the actual charge status, display it as 100%, and take it into account while deciding when to shut down because the battery runs empty?
If anybody has tried this, please report.
Addendum: It seems that the widespread HTC Legend problem does not affect the actual charging, which keeps working well. It affects only the battery charge percentage display, which is wrong. This means that an external charger would not help.
Quick question Ive seen a couple larger capacity batteries 2000mAh and 2430mAh on ebay (not sure if i can post the links, tell me if you want me to) which are the same size as the normal galaxy S batteries, they say that the normal back cover can fit on them. And before i buy them i just wanted to if they have any effect on the phone itself. is it a smart move to buy the bigger battery? i researched and thought of flashing cyanogenmod 7.1 but i read about the battery issues and i just figured why not buy a bigger battery.
Am I going along the right thought process? let me know if im missing something. cheers.
Just got a Polarcell 1800 mAh from Amazon that seemed to be recommended by many sites, and the performance so far is nothing short of MEGA!
I do think that my original battery was nearing the end of its useful life though (18 months)
I got caught out earlier by getting a so called GOLD 2000 mAh battery that after some research (peeling off the cover and Googling the serial number I found) turned out to be only 750 mAh - buyer beware I suppose!
Don't know of any technical issues with using bigger batteries - sorry.
Hi, has anyone purchased / replaced their battery recently and could recommend a place to buy good quality battery. I have looked on e bay and all claim to be genuine, but some feed backs complain about battery not charging or losing charge fast.
Any help is appreciated
Bro, this phone is approximately 6yrs old. Hence there might not be any good battery like the original battery you re looking for. All you can find now is a battery that can do the job of a battery and not necessarily an original battery that can hold charges for hours.
I recently changed my battery. And this was the technique I used. However, more often than not, I use the packaging of the battery to determine its level of originality.
