Throw your V into a glass of water.
From my Xperia V via xda premium

I experience the same problem from time to time.
The battery drains fast und the phone gets pretty hot. Restarting the Phone doesn't seem to help. Only tking out the battery seems to solve the problem for now.
Anyone else with the same issue?

When I'm playing games and using Wi-Fi hotspot, my V soon get hot. And the battery drains fast, too.
So I always prepare a glass of water. Throw my V in it when it is very hot. Then the temperature drains, too.
After all, Xperia V is waterproofed.

Normal thing while playing 3D games or something else which uses lots of power, there is a safety switch for overheating so dont worry.

Unfortunately this doesn't recharge my battery
I found the "Exchange Services" to be the cause of my heat/battery drain problem. (seems to be a known issue - I can't include links yet, so just google: "exchange services battery")
After deleting the account from my phone, everything is back to normal.

Battery burning super fast?

Whilst I have been having the screen on, it shouldn't be burning this fast and it certainly didn't use to. 23 minutes on battery and 20% burned?
Did you install a new rom or new kernel? You can install an app like BetterBatteryStats to check out what might be causing this battery drain.

Stock ROM 4.0.4 and have never rooted or flashed anything on before. It is completely stock and unaltered in every way. All I've done is install apps. It just seems to have been a little bad recently. I have BetterBatteryStats on, but the it isn't wakelocks. As I said, I've got the screen on consistently so the phone will always be awake. It is just that 20% in that amount of time seems really high, even for constant use, and I swear it didn't use to be that bad. I've installed Juice Defender because it tends to be good in how it managers network and WiFi. So far, things seem to be stabilising. But, I still want to know what can cause such sharp drainage...
Do you have a lot of apps running in the background? This is most likely the cause. Brightness is a big issue also. Flash a kernal!

Check that you have Auto-brightness enabled. Also, I found that certain apps can drain battery big time. I agree with checking via a battery stats program. Maybe an APP is running in the background causing the cpu to stay at max speed?

Totally agree. Before I root my Note to delete some unuse apps from stock 4.0.4, the battery drains very fast. The most reason is some apps running in the background.
Did you change your sim recently? Sometimes the culprit is sim card.

Not fixes, but suggestions:
- An app like Green Power will stop data usage when screen off
- As others said, look into your display. My favourite app is Display Brightness as it adds an invisible slider on your screen
- For some reason, Chrome in the last week began to EAT my phone. I uninstalled it and I'm back to a blessed 1% an hour drain

You may have to check your battery. Will it be hot when you are using it? Look at your battery, does it look "fat"? It happened once to me before, after changing a new battery. It's fine now. It was caused by overcharging it during the night.
I experienced it on my previous phone, now im going to prove it again in my note because i changed my sim recently and now i cannot achieved the 5 hrs i had before that my original sim card, best phone can do now is 3.5 hrs. I try to contact my provider if they can restore my previous sim card and see what will happen, its just a suspect.

[Q] Xperia TX Problem

I have been using Xperia TX for over 4 months now. I bought it with the Android 4.0.4. Everything was working perfectly well until I updated it to 4.1.2. After the update, the problems started appearing. I'm facing problems specially while playing games. When I play Temple Run 1 or 2, the games keep on pausing in between so very frequently. I tried repairing the mobile and the games worked well a couple of days and the problems came back. Could anyone help me out? Any suggestions guys???
you mean by pausing like going back to Menu of the game? or a delay like a lag?
Not only that, anyone notice that sometime the phone is lock, but the screen backlight still on and battery drain extremely fast.
Which way did you update?
Ftf, zip or Sony pc companion?

I used PC Companion for updating. By Pausing I mean that as if I had pressed the pause button. At times the game does lag too... And that's right sometimes when I press the power button to lock the screen, the screen does not lock instead the back light remains on which does cause the battery to drain fast...
I won't upgrade to JB until the problem is solve.
yeah experienced it with global, unbranded, russian and my original one. Its been a week now trying to get some time reading the forums for any solution before I will update to jb again, cause jb is a lot faster but not design for gaming .:crying:
SOLVED
first the reason of the games lag that THe CPU DROPS FROM 1512 To 380+ the corespeed i`m talking about here <<<
so i had to root and install SET CPU and made 2 profiles for games like temple run i just set the minnum and maximum frequency and its very smooth now so no problems with games..

Can you help me out in rooting the TX running Jelly Bean?
Hey guys. I try to flash back to ICS 7.0.A.3.212 and update with PC Companion again. I don't know why now my battery usage are same as ICS, not drain that fast like last time I just updated to JB. I root with Easyrootingkit and I deleted all the useless apps but not Google Now. I realize that after deleted the Google Now and restart my phone, the battery will drain faster, just leave your Google Now there and is better don't turn it on. And don't try to make any changes from the CPU especially using SetCPU, I realize if I change any setting there, when I close the apps, the CPU frequency will change to lower. I know nothing more else, but just trying to share with those who have the same problem like me last time. This method works for me but I don't know others. Now I can used JB normally without and problem.

Stamina Mode in Xperia T - shame on u Sony

so after update to JB Xperia P has got Stamina mode like in Xperia Z and Xperia T still doesnt?

yes, there are wakelocks from google services and android system, which you can not get rid off (at least I was desperately trying...)..you get it with all Sony Custom ROMs and all kernels, but also with CM and its derivates like MIUI...

Google can be reduced by turning off "backup my data" and auto sync. As for android system those are necessary functions and it will always be there, the amount it drains depends on the efficiency of both the ROM and the parts (radio etc) in the device. Same goes for mobile standby, except this can be reduced by having 3G off. Basically don't use functions/apps you don't need, that's the only way to save battery

that's not the issue - I know how to save battery. My point: even if you stop all syncs, delete all data-apps, which might be rogue, stop all backup data stuff, maps connecting to Inet, etc. you still have draining the battery by these wakelocks! That's the first and only device I use (besides 2 Sammy Phones and one HTC device), where you can not stop wakelocks!

Same with the galaxy mini. Its just that cheap designs have parts that don't perform as well, but performance demands juice so the armv6 single core qvga/hvga designs with weak radios inherently use less power anyway, plus the roms are less bloated because of space issues. And yeah, way off topic, even if it does have some relevance

[BUG] Battery Bug for Stock 4.2.2

THIS BUG CAN DO HARM TO YOUR BATTERY! BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY DRAINS!
As we all may encounter the battery bug after upgrading to .423 fw. When one restarts his phone, he has chances that the battery level of the phone rises (e.g., I turned off mine just now at 26% and turned it on showing 51%). This has been confirmed by many users in the forum, so I believe it is a firmware level bug of 4.2.2.
Is there any one willing to pay some time on fixing it? Coz this is a quite crucial bug for us, we dont know when will our phones automatically turn off! Thanks in advance
I believe its not a caliboration thing coz we also upgrade or wipe our devices before, and no such thing happened. I think its a firmware or kernel level bug. Does anyone who flashes a custom kernel also encounter the same problem?
It seems that Spanish FW is free from this bug.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43261281
plz report your rom or base FW in the reply. Thanks.
[NEW EDIT]
It seems that I fix the bug. The battery jumps when the phone restarts, so I think there is something during boot which causes the issue. I delete the XZDualRecovery, and test the phone several times, and its fine!
Deleting XZDualRecovery might be a temporary fix, so you can choose what to do
[NEW EDIT 2]
someone reports that they dont encounter the bug and believes that its the calibration thing. i declare again that i DID the calibration and the issue was still there. for me, at least, deleting XZDualRecovery fixes the bug. plz report more details in the reply, like fw, root or not, recoveries. Thank you
I don't think there is a bug here.
Never happened to me,cause i did full wipe while flashing.
Maybe it happens only for users that didn't wiped everything.

I experiencing the same issue. 2% to 55% after reboot. wow... 4.2.2 doesn't bring anything for me to consider to keep it. so back to 4.1.2 (.4.3.4)
But one thing for sure (never discharge a lithium ion / polymer battery from full to 0 they don't like it) you could do that with nickel cadmium/ metal hydride batteries ant they really thank for that if you keep doing that you just kill your battery before its due time.

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:

Seriously though this ROM is great. All that needs to be fixed are the camera bug, music wakelock thing, and heavy battery usage from Android System and Google Services and then it's basically perfect.

So, i guess its normal? But an actual CM User can give you better report. Not using it anymore.
awww, gregbradley?
30% in 8hours sleeping? horrible....but you are right, let it settle, fmlogin
Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...

apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..
The governor is ondemand and I didn't change the clock of cpu...
I'll install the app and come back with a screenshot, so I think it'll be easier to find some problem

I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?

Hi,
I'm running the stock firmware. The battery drain during one night (about 8 hours) is ~ 5%.

Mavhia, can you notice an unusual consume from google services?
Good to know that this isn't happening only with my phone.

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?
