I can't flash my p970 because there is nothing in COM port when i am in s/w update mode , there are a few post about this problem but no one says how it's been resolved . please help

May be you can try on other PC.
i tried this too , i think is a hardware problem after all. but i can entry in s/w update mode without battery so a connection exist.

I recently got Optimus 4x HD and I was trying to upgrade software (now I have V10a) over the internet via PC suite and over the mobile phone...Each time I have problems, my mobile phone says that my phone is not registred and PC suite says that there is a problem and cant upgrade...
is there a solution of this problem?
how to register a product? over local version od lg.com or what? if thats the solution, I cant register my product because it's not listed yet in devices in my local lg.com
if someone knows the solution, please...I need help

That is strange. I took my phone right out of box with v10a, right away it updated to v10b, so to v10d and then to v10f. I didnt register or anything at all.

Have you tried to directly flash a .kdz file? That should help, as your device came with 10a it should be a normal one and no developer.

how can I be sure that phone is not developer edition?
I got that phone for free from a cousine working in local lg office... he was saying that it's the final version...
there is a encription on the back of the model NOT FOR SALE...so that means it a developer edition, or not?
ofcourse, software is version v10a....
maybe it's not registred for sale so it wont update?

If you'll try the normal flash, you'll brick it almost for sure.
By that method you'll be able to flash it.
Pay attention to the tutorial before you start!

I did everything as in the tutorial...but I stopped at step 8...
I am using win 7, 64 bit edition and I connected to my laptop win xp 32 bit edition, I manage to install everything, but when I connect phone (vol up and usb cable) the computer never finds omap4430...when I look at device manager i get a new hardware for about 3 seconds and then everything dissapears...
I don't undestrand...
does it maybe has to be win 7 and 32 bit operational system or something else...

I got the same Message when I tried to check for updates. On my phone the solution was to enable OTA in the hidden menu.

OTA Setting
Enable
Restart phone

As far as I know, the flash method for developers phones must run in 32bit system.
About retail phones, just try to download the KDZ version you want to and flash it with the normal methode.

I tried everything for updating like developer and didn't succeded...then i decided to risk and tried it with the normal methode and it worked...

Maybe even without sucess, when you flash by the "development way" (let's call it like that for now...), you overwrite the file system allowing to perform the normal flash after that.

I Got the latest UPK tool Kit.
I have windows 8. I want to upgrade my OB from v20b to v30b with R&D Test Tool but after running it...it wont start...does anyone know how to fix this?

Try to unbrick it with SmartFlashTool. Should work just fine, if you are still able to boot to SW Update Mode.

The smartphone is OK.
The problem is that i can't run the software R&DtestTool on win8.
But i will try to upgrade to V30B with SmartFlash.

yeah r&dtt and kdzu are obsolete since we got smartflash, but I let these methods available because some users still use them. but I'm not sure if it still works with newest B2C clients

What i have to do i've i have a brick on my P880 and then i have connected it with my PC via USB and go into the S/W Upgrade Modus...
I have installed the Driver and have downloaded a Euro Open 4.1.2 kdz but the Computer doesn't find my device... also the LG Mobile Support Tool doesn't find the device... what did i have to do?

Standard troubleshooting - which you would know if you searched before posting;-
De-install and re-install the LG tool
Check the drivers
Try different USB ports (USB 3 are often a problem)
Check you are following the steps 100% correctly

Hello ! i am new to this comunity ! please i need some help ! It's about my LG P880 ....i flashed a wrong rom to this unit and now it wont turn on. The screen is black even when i plug it in the wall soket. The only thing when i plug it into my pc it shows like a APX missing driver ant that's it. What should i do ? i only heard of the JTAG repair but i am in Romania and here something like this is unheard of and the shipping costs would be around 150$ to usa without repair. PLEASE HELP ! (

relax. 1st thing to do is take a breath. 2nd thing to do is follow some guide to do it right this time. maybe it cant boot, but it can go in adb mode or in upgrade screen and restore the original forcing the original rom in. its ur choice.

oke. since u tried install a custom rom , i suppose at ur pc u have the right drivers installed for adb mode, right ? if yes , then take this all in one toolkit from afro and it will save u . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230934
if not , tell me. next post ill show u what to do for the adb bootloader.

Try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723. This will flash the original firmware by LG.

The phone is like dead it dosent goes into SW MODE the screen wont turn on. Not even the lg logo nothing. I think it has to go on a original LG Service center (((

the link you provide is old. nobody can download drivers from there anymore, his links are dead.
maybe the nvflash utility is the same with this one here ?
and the apx drivers for 4x are those the same for 2x ?

APX device not recognized... NVFlash doesn't work on P880 (AFAIK).
And if you pay atention, the links also as uploaded drivers are from 2011, old.
Check SW
First of all try this:
1. take battery out
2. put it back
3. press and keep volume down
4. while keeping volume down plug USB cable, after 2 sec should enter to S/W upgrade
try exactly how i said and report if that works.

Nothing. The screen is black . I only hear the plug and unplug sounds in windows 7. And APX with ! yellow sign .

I sold the phone ! thank you for your support everybody !!! the only option left was to change the moatherboard but a sh phone here in Romania is 750 ron and a motherboard 500 ron so dosent worth the trouble !

we made it to install the correct drivers. i helped him in this. there was no way. his phone really was dead. maybe he is one of those 3 people in the whole world who bought it new and the update through lg pc suite killed it. oke ... ***** happen* in this world sometimes. too bad i feel sorry for a new phone.

Well i don't have a lot of experience of re-installing phones, but i don't think that phone died of software missing/failure on phone, should be extra drivers/soft to wake it up, even after formatting all device, or maybe when he tried flash rom phone hardware got burned. i feel sorry for that phone

nah its ok. you see , this time i believe he is right , it died. the reason is because this happened while using pc sync with the pc suite. the original lg software caused him this issue. i was not there to see what happened but for the original to fail so bad..... its one in a billion.....

Try using MiFlash, with fastboot rom for Mi3, you can find fastboot rom here : http://en.miui.com/thread-14641-1-1.html
And tutorrial here : http://www.technobuzz.net/flash-miui-bricked-mi-3-mi-4-fastboot-mode/
But it don't recognise my device

That's weird, did you charge the battery? Drivers are installed on your computer?
If you didn't charge the battery just try to let it charge longer.
What does you cousin did with your phone? (I never managed to really brick a phone)
