2. you have a good flashing guide on the fist post of the above thread

The newest radio, you need to use for 2.3.3 roms!
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE
How To:
just put the PG32IMG.zip on the root of your SD Card and boot into fastboot
follow the instructions on the screen
Download
http://www.multiupload.com/JG3D1BODV7
The filename should be PG32IMG.zip
it's in the zip
just forget it at the guide
thanks

does it also work with s-on?
i guess
but i didn't tried it
but u don't need it because if you are having s-on you only can get 2.3.3 by using goldcard method which will flash the radio too
and how about an ota update? the ota does flash the radio either, or does it?
to put it in a nutshell i am going to s-off my phone this afternoon, so i need to know how to flash the newest CustomRom wich actually is the 2.3.3 rom correctly on my incS. so i need to flash this radio first?
doesn't matter what order you flash them in, I did ROM first then radio

thx my prophet
so
s-off -> rom and radio -> finish?! or did i miss something?
(BTW l0st.prophet your rom is already rootet, so if i flashed your rom on my incS i didnt need to flash or install anything else to finish, or do i?)
Best order is:
- S-OFF
- Root via SuperOneClick (psneuter)
- Install RonManager from the market and install clockworkmod
- Boot into recovery and install rom
- Reboot into HBoot and install radio
Iam sorry, but i really cant find the superonclick root by psneuter... Could you be so Kind, to Post the Link. Iam on the go...
Thx a lot!!

s-off and flashing radios

sorry if this is a newb question, but I have done some searching, and was not able to figure out a clear answer:
For an at&t branded htc one, do we need s-off to be able to flash radio updates when the become available via .zip; flash-able thru recovery?
and if yes, has anybody tried this already without s-off?
Thanks for the insight!

Sorry to reply here. But I cannot reply in development forum.
Could anyone kindly send me a link talking about the procedures to flash the radio? I searched a lot, but they always say flash via recovery, which i have no idea what it is.
BTW, do I have to flash the radio every time when I flash a new rom? Thanks in advance.

REcovery is an app that you can flash to your phone. IT is use mostly to make system backups, and flash apps roms etc etc. search for twrp recovery, learn how to install it, youll have to unlock bootloader and root phone then install recovery. then flash it with recovery, in the install section. no you dont have to flash radio everytime you flash a rom. radio is one thing rom is another.
Thank you both. I think Ive got some sense now. I would try flash radio via fastboot.

Best firmware/radios?

Hey there,
I just got a used HTC ONE with 1.55 bootloader and, following this guide, I was able to get s-off.
I then, as suggested by the guide, flashed the 'full unmodified custom firmware' as show here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576995
Lastly I flashed the Renovate custom ROM. Now I cannot get my data to work. In fact, I don't even see a 3G indicator on the phone.
I believe the that the firmware I flashed must not be the correct one. And, of course, Sprint is of no help as it is a custom ROM.
Can anyone suggest the correct firmware/radio for this phone please?

I'm on both latest radio and firmware... I did modified...just had to reload twrp...no issues but have read somewhere that if you don't have latest radios it can cause issues...

[Q] Update from really old Viperone version 1.1

I have read and read and cannot find a straight answer so I apologize for the new thread. I loaded the latest version of Viperone 1.1 back when I first got my phone. I did not root the phone through the Sprint official method if that makes a difference. Its been a REALLY long time since I loaded the ROM so I have a few questions.
1) I just noticed the ViperOne 5.8 has been released. Is this version and the 1.1 version related? I mean, did the 1.1 version officially get updated over time to the 5.8 version? The reason I ask is that I kept on going into Goo manager on my phone and it kept telling me there were no updates for my ROM. But then I log on here and see 5.8. Hate that I missed out on all the upgrade goodness.
2) What do I need to do to get to 5.8? I have updated my TWRP recovery to 2.6.3 as I read that was a requirement. I've also read to upgrade the firmware. What is that? I thought that was updated when I loaded the ROM, but I may be wrong. I just want to make sure I have the phone properly prepped before loading the 5.8 ROM.
3) Speaking of the 5.8 ROM, I have a Sprint phone (CDMA). I cannot find the Sprint version of the 5.8 CDMA ROM. The Sprint HTC One ViperOne thread directs me to the standard HTC One ViperOne thread for ROM download. Is the ROM the same for CDMA and GSM nowadays. I seem to remember them being different back when I did this originally.
4) What will happen to my pictures and text messages and such? Ihave backed them up through HTC Sync just in case, but it would be nice to not have to reload everything.
I had this figured out at one time, but its been so long, I'm now lost. Thanks in advance for your replies.
You need to search to find how to upgrade your firmware if that is suggested for the update. After that download the Rom you want and follow the instructions from that thread to flash it. your pictures will stay as long as you do not wipe that part in recovery. Your game data and such will be wiped for a clean install but you can back that up with third party apps such as titanium backup our others.

1) Same team different developer
2) Sounds like you firmware may be pretty old
The firmware thread is HERE Follow the instructions in the thread.
You will ned the latest radio/baseband it can be found HERE Flash in recovery.
Firmware is not included in any rom.
3) ViperOne has multi carrier support meaning it works on both GSM and CDMA (it will know which version to flash for you) you are correct GSM and CDMA roms are different...some devs support Sprint so read the OP to make sure there is Sprint support.
4) If you are s-on you'll have to re-lock your bootloader to be able to either update the firmware...meaning you will have to unlock again which will wipe your device.

So, I've done all that, but I am not understanding what "firmware" is. Is that the Android version, like 4.1.2 or 4.4.2? If so, I thought the ROM included the firmware since they all reference it being a KitKat based ROM or Jelly Bean ROM.
I've also looked for my ROM, but the only ROM I can find is not in the Sprint thread. Its in the non-Sprint thread. So is there not a Sprint(CDMA) and GSM ROM versions anymore? They used to be separate ROMs when I did this a while back. Are they the same ROM nowadays?

BD619 answered you pretty well here. But firmware is not the Rom, that is software. As stated above the m7 has been commonized and the flashable roms have a script built in to figure out if it is gsm or cdma but not every rom is like this. Sprint is really out there on their own, in a way, and not as compatible with other m7 variants. Just read plenty and make sure you KNOW what you're flashing before you flash it.

I am currently S-Off, so hopefully I don't have to worry about #4.
For #3, there is a dedicated Sprint ViperOne thread, so I believe they support Sprint, but that thread directs me to the non_sprint ViperOne thread for ROM download. I figured the ROM was the same now, but wanted someone to explicitly confirm that. Thank you for clearing that up.

If you are s-off no need to re-lock
The 5.8 rom in the main viper thread is the one you want it is able to tell you are on a Sprint device and will flash the correct files.
OK, I've tried to update to the firmware that was linked, but if failed with ...
ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
I am at hboot 1.44 at the moment. The firmware link stated that I need to update to 1.56. How do I update to 1.56 and keep s-off?

How to Flashing stock non carrier firmware with TWRP

Hello guys, I currently AT&T LMV405UA0o I bought it not knowing that I cannot update it to any new android version without a sim card, I do not live in the us.
Now I want to install any stock firmware without the carrier blot ware and update it to android 10.
Now what I did is try cross flashing that did not work because of the crossdll error att_us > any other firmware, I tried using lgup_cmd It did not recognize any firmware I tried to flash so I give up on that.
I tried to unlock the bootloader with lg v35 bootloader, it worked now my bootloader is unlocked I erased my laf_a after taking a backup and now I have access to fast boot.
I will try to install twrp soon it should be easy the hard part is done. my question is how to install the unlocked stock firmware for my current device without the at&t stuff its already sim unlocked.
What firmware should I use, should I also flash magisc (I don’t really care about root), what boot section should I use I don’t wanna screw anything. I’m current on android 9 and it boots normally. Can u guys link me to guide for my issue.
Thanks in advance

You can't install stock firmware with twrp. Unless someone converts the KDZ firmware to a twrp zip format, then it's not doable.
It *sounds* like you tried to use the 1.16 dll of lgup to crossflash, but the one that works is 1.14 dll for crossflash. After crossflashing, and if you need to refurbish the newer kdz, then use 1.16 for that.

can u please let me know which guide i should use and what firmware to download if possible. the best case scenario for me is to remove the at&t rom completely.

I'd suggest reading 2 guides, one for the V40 and one for the V35.
Both of those threads explain crossflashing, the V40 is more specific, but the V35 one has the basics. I'd recommend reading both threads in their entirety, most questions / comments you can gloss over, but some of them will be about your specific question, and many times you'll find answers there and know what to do when / if you happen upon the same problem.
What firmware? Well the latest 'open' version for wherever your region is of course. In the US that would be the V405QA720e_01_NAO_US_OP_1230.kdz - that's still Pie, but Q should be available soon. I'd suggest go slow with the process, be sure of what you're doing, as best as possible.
good luck
