i just wanted to make this thread to warn people. my phone just broke. wont turn on. and i have tried everything!!! the same thing happened to mssmison's old phone. and we think its just from flashing so many times that we just wore out the rom. i have probably (no lie) flashed my phone 60 times if not more. so i just wanna let everone know to go easy on the flashing as you may eventually break your phone!!!
i honestly dont think android messed it up i just wore the phone out.
android is not the cause of my phone crashing. so you can flash android to your phone, just dont go all buckwild on it and flash it like a fat guy at dunken donuts

Sorry to hear that So it won't turn on at all, nothing? reboot button does nothing? Stinks man =/
I've noticed my phone sputter a few times when I was flashing, or rebooting, like I'll have to press reboot a few times before it responds. I always wonder how long this thing can possibly endure.

Or if you just take it in and let them know that it died.

I'm with Donmotobike on this. Honeystreak is easily one of the best Honeycomb ports for any device.
I still want official Honeycomb - for the sake of having it - but Honeystreak is incredible. If Dell doesn't release Honeycomb, though, I'm not buying the Streak 10 or any other tablet Dell makes - we can't always be sure that the community will develop anything good for them, so we need to hope that Dell provides updates.
What we needed was another "When will Honeycomb be released" thread.......
mmm ... thanks for your answers ... by my side I have to wait until September to see what Dell brings new... thanks for all...
joined 2009 only posted 4? interesting
You dont say much....honeycomb must be important to you...do you know how turn off dell streak? can you tell me because i forgot
If the way you think .... There are 2 ways to turn off the dell ... one is the power button and another is the button that is next to where you put the microsd memory is to resetiarlo forced or shutting it down ... I hope this information can help you ...
Yes and no

That's odd....... mine shuts off without turning back on when I press the pinhole reset button....... I have to physically press and hold the power button to boot.
And PS:
I'm not a Dev per se but I am no novice either....... helped many a people here on xda with issues (kyocera m6000 most recently working with spz0 on openzio )
It could be that some devices act differently and are from different batches. Don't be so fast to toss out your opinion and then roll your eyes...... its rude.
The pinhole button is a force power off button, not a reset button. It's in the manual.

Hey every1!
I was hoping that my first post here would be something more funny then this... But... you can´t always get what you wan´t.
My problem... My note is completly dead!
I was messing around with editing some pictures i just took on the kids when my phone just frooze... I then held the powerbutton for about 15sec before it died. After that... stonedead!
No matter what i do with it, it´s just black and doesn´t respond to anything.
- Had 20+% battery in it when it frooze, i´ve tried to charge it but no difference.
- Had the battery pulled for 30mins+ , no change.
- Can´t get to recovery mode whatever i do.
- Connected it do the computer, no sound no nuttin.
The phone is/was rooted, running rocketrom V.20 with abyssnote kernel 3.3 when it died.
Haven´t had any issues with it until now.
So... Any ideas on what i should try next? Besides using it as a really expensive paperweight that is
HELP!! =)

Hopefully they won't notice the root and custom rom and kernel, i meen... It's completly dead so it shouldn't be a problem right?!
If you find, try other battery once.
- Use JIG
Switch off your phone and take out the battery for 15-20 seconds
Install the battery back but DO NOT turn it on
Plug this USB JIG DONGLE into the micro-USB port of the phone
Wait for a few seconds. You should see the Download Mode logo on the screen.
Unplug the module.

Yes, great news actually!
I got it back like 5 days ago...
And, it was the main circuit board that had faulted! That ment they couldn´t get the info of it ,or atleast they decided that it would be to much trouble to do so.
So it´s now back and running again... rooted, running RR v22 and franco kernel v6
Didn´t cost me anything
Hopefully it won´t happen again thoo... I can´t be without it anymore! Used my old 3gs when it was on service... goddam hated it!

First and for most I want to congratulate you on having your phone back & fully functional again. I too am in the same situation right now where my phone is hard bricked and can't turn on in any shape or form. I sen't it to a local shop to fix who do Jtag for this phone but say they can't get it to start. I wanted to know when you said "the main circuit board that had faulted" did they replace any parts? or just flash software with JTag again? Any help would be really appreciated.

I was running Sabsa Prime 8.5 on the Redux 0.8 Sabsa kernel when this happened.
I pressed reboot recovery from the power menu and the phone ran the shut down animation and the screen went black.
Unfortunately it never powered back on.
Now it shows no charge light, i have left the battery out for a good 10 minutes, tried running it without the battery, no luck.
I know it is not bricked, but, it has happened before and i never figured out how i fixed it.
I was also running 4ext touch recovery.
Thanks guys.

It's a issue with the battery + USB port.
Your battery drained to much probably because you plunged your device in and your device was charging as USB or not at all.
Plug battery and charger in, wait and look if it battery light is there, wait a bit and try to boot it again. Do you have blackrose?

Unfortunately the phone will not respond at all.
previous times, i would repeatedly take the battery out, put it back in etc and it would boot.
last time i did it, i remember fiddling around with the charging connector a bit and the orange light came on.
what is strange, is that the phone usually charges fine without me fiddling with it :S
At least i know it isn't hardbricked
Thanks again

How do you boot to recovery? I've had nothing but HTC and Samsung and I have to admit this Sony and it's button combinations are throwing me a little bit.
Now i know it's a button combination of power and probably up, but when i hold power and up nothing happens, so what exactly is it?
Funnily enough, throughout all the tutorials I've been unable to find out exactly what it is you have to hold.
I am rooted, with a custom recovery and a custom rom by the way, i used ADB to get to it previously.
Cheers.
If you installed dualrecovery for LB you need to restart phone and wait phone green led and vibration just then press vol up for CMW and vol down for TWRP and thats all. By the way wrong section for this Q/A.

That's overly complicated. You reboot the phone (Or turn it off and back on normally) and wait for the vibration, then press and release and press and release repeatedly the volume up button for CMW or volume down button for TWRP.
If you have xposed framework installed and the advanced power menu module you can also reboot directly into CMW.

Yes, apps don't work because they try to boot into a stock recovery. Sony phones do not have stock. Try the xposed framework if you are rooted, its very good for adding tweaks and mods and does so much more than just the advanced power menu

Aye i was looking for a 32GB nexus and it's not a slouch either, very quick handset, but the Z1 won me over, closely followed by the G2 (which is seeing a fair bit of development at the moment) I'm more than happy with the Z1 now, it's battery wit stamina mode is insane, it just doesn't die and for the first time i'm using 4G which for the most part is really quick.
Just need to get some dev's in now and get the party started.

Tried xposed as suggested by gregbradley and got 4way reboot back so I'm happy again
All in all I'm glad i went for the z1 it really is much better than the s4 or the HTC One

Yea m8 I still have my one it's now on gumtree for £275, which is cheap on there, most people are after 300 - 400 which is just stupid, thought i'd put mine out there for less as to get the sale quicker, will how it goes.
In terms of performance the One is still good but m8 nowhere near as fast as the Z1, just looking at quadrant scores it's making it look a bit silly, plus the camera, yea am a happy camper, be nice to see raffa on this Doubt it but u never know.

I used eBay to sell the s4 mate it went for 360 but by time eBay and PayPal fees paid i ended up with just over 300
Antutu scores z1 just under 35000 but above the note 3 AND THAT'S ON STOCK FIRMWARE it's amazing
As for raffa mate i really do think he'd love this phone maybe we could tempt him
