I was loving galxian soup's aokp until nycbjr let tommrazek01 take over and start a new thread. Tommrazek01 has never been able to get his links working correctly and hasn't updated his forum downloads ever... So I downloaded the other teams AOKP rom just a day or two ago and I am loving it but their forum is gone. Logged on to thank them but gone! What happened to it? Sad to say but I don't even remember the teams name. Any info on who the team is and why their forum is gone would be appreciated. Also Team Broccoli makes an AOKP rom for the 8.9, I am running team broccoli's aokp on my touchpad and I'm totally love it. Here is team broccoli's homepage if you want to try it out http://pcb.team.broc.co/li/aokpcb I haven't run in on my gtab yet but its fantastic on my touchpad and wanted to gives this other AOKP a run first. Looking forward to info on who made this AOKP and why their thread was deleted.
thats exactly the thing.
the other team you are refering to is safariking and he wasn't really a team!
he took the OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL aokp rom and just added one or two apps. thats all.
you can still get the fully functional and up to date AOKP rom for 8.9 and 8.9wifi over at
www.aokp.co
works perfectly!
the threads were deleted because our developement forum got too cluttered and people seemed to think that safariking actually developed or did some serious/noteworthy work on the AOKP rom although he just softmodded it.
credit where credit is due!
Well that makes sense thank you for the info. I decided to go to team broccoli's aokp and I'm absolutely loving it. They need to start a thread in the gtab 8.9 section. Great stability and nice customazations. I highly advise giving it a go ^.^ link to their site in my 1st post above.
These are my own personal builds of Carbon Rom that I have added Facebook contact sync to. I will make new builds when I feel like it, please be patient. All credit for this rom goes to Team Carbon and credit for Facebook sync goes to romanbb.
I did get permission from Team Carbon to share my unofficial build of their rom. DO NOT CONTACT TEAM CARBON IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY ROM as it is an unofficial build. I will do my best to answer questions and solve problems that are posted in this thread. If you post feature requests, they will probably be ignored.
This is a Jelly Bean 4.3 rom, so make sure to use the appropriate gapps with it, I personally use the gapps mentioned on Cyanogenmod's page. Since this is a 4.3 rom, you will need to use the CM 10.2 apps.
If you are going to use a different kernel, make sure to get a JWR kernel.
Please backup your device before installing this rom and before installing updates. If you are coming from another rom, please wipe: system, Dalvik Cache, and Cache before installing. If you are installing an update you will only need to wipe the dalvik cace and the cache.
One last thing before, I'm not responsible for any harm that comes from installing this rom but I will try to help you out should things go wrong.

Wow great to saw this. Any screenshots?

And onemore thing are u port this rom??? Because the above link goes to 2013 year posted page
This a port from the Gti9000 forum, and i have been using this rom for two months. It is actually really good and the carbon rom from the vibrant forum was used as the kernel source. The screenshots will be uploaded in an hour. However, that needs to be changed feel free since this is my first thread in this forum.
Update: screenshots has been uploaded in the screenshot section

Looks good. Glad to see there is still development on this phone, I need to pick one up again.
I just tried this rom because I love 4.4.2 for my lovely Vibrant. Everything works fine except one thing: the playstore
I tried to find the playstore version stable for 4.4.2 but found nothing
@ falconscrest123 Do you have the same issue?
If you are looking for gapps then i think this link should work. If there is a problem just report back, and hows the performance for the rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240652
Download the one which says 4.4 android
I get an error:
"set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in ......... Project .......... .zip
(Status 7)"
Installation aborted
Try using TWRP recovery if that works in the installation of the rom. I flashed the rom without any problems while flashing via TWRP from code rom's Twrp recovery.
The "back" button and the "home" button are exchanged.

Did you flash Mackay kernel over this rom because that happened to me because i didnt have any problems. However, the fix is to download root browser navigate to system and then USR folder, Keylayout
Open Aries-keypad.Kl
Cypress-touchkey.kl
Then switch the values for the home and back button
Vanir ROM
I found this ROM on the internet and it's currently in active development. I haven't seen this ROM around here in Tablet Z thread. You guys can try this ROM too. I've installed Vanir ROM on my Pollux and it's working good with EvoMix kernel. It's available for both Pollux and Pollux Windy.

There was a previous Vanir-AOSP, but it was KK 4.4.2.
Okay. Thanks @Rootk1t, but I never saw that post earlier. However, I just posted it here for the ROM enthusiasts like me to try it
Looks like there is a marshmallow version now going to give it a try!

Looks cool! Any review?

So far so good. I formatted first using twrp-3.0.2-0, then changed cache and data partitions to f2fs. Flashed rom and opengapps and haven't found any bugs. I have been away for work so watching a lot of YouTube/Netflix and battery life has been very reasonable.
Let me know if there is anything you want me to check.
Happy to see this thread is still alive
Here's the link to Vanir Marshmallow: http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/pollux/
i just installed the Vanir M ROM and found it a little buggy. Specially with some cleaning apps that require root access like Purify, Clean Master.. etc. Also games crash before loading (Crisis Action). Other than this, ROM works fine and it's smooth with no lags.
