Yes you are right - great function - it helps much !!
You don't need a room - it is a kernel solution - so you can easily flash it
i tryed it

[MOD] bLED button LED notification for Galaxy Note

Update 14/12/2011
Watch it in action here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OojU0REhrL0.
Update 13/12/2011
bLED kernel module updated to 0.2. Should fix the random crash occuring. Not sure how many of you guys checked the dmesg and found out plenty of stack traces on 0.1
Grab your copy bled-0.2-lkm-update.zip and flash with Clockworkmod. Leave the bled-0.1.apk installed as is, no update is available for that yet
Original post
bLED touchkey button notification for GALAXY Note, version 0.1-EA
The wait is over.
Introducing bLED, my version of blinking notification through touchkey button LEDs. It's still on its early access version 0.1, and there are still some known inconveniences or bugs. Please refer to the known problems section for more info.
After applying the patch and installing the apk, your GALAXY Note will blink any notification found on the status bar, including missed calls and (TouchWiz) SMS
This MOD has been tested on KKA kernel, but it should support all stock kernels (seems like none of custom kernels are supported). But if anything happens, you can restore with the nandroid backup of (just) your system image.
eybee1970 said:
ok, unfortunatly this Mod works with none of newer FM- and Abyss-Kernels....so we have to wait for the devs implementing stock touchkey drivers.
For all ROCKET ROM Users: of course you can switch to any CF-Root Kernel and this Mod will work - but you'll lose important init.d-tweaks if you do so, cause none of chainfires kernels support init.d-scripting

I could be wrong, it could possibly be another issue rather than stock touchkey driver.
angelom said:
I entered the stock touchkey drivers but bled still does not work.
At this point I do not think it's a driver issue.
And then FM 1.4 does not have the modified drivers

Prerequisites
- You'll need a clockworkmod-enabled GALAXY Note. Some advanced users can also load the kernel module by him/herselves.
Installation
0) Do nandroid backups!
Will not held responsible for bricking your phone if you don't backup first
1) Install the MOD
1.a) Download the update.zip (updated to bled-0.2-lkm-update.zip) and copy over to your SD card
1.b) Reboot in CWM to flash the update.zip. Go to "install zip from sdcard", "choose zip from sdcard", navigate and select the bled-0.2-lkm-update.zip.
1.c) Power off the phone, and start it again (obviously)
2) Install the bLED accessibility service
2.a) Go to "Settings", "Applications". Tick on "Unknown Sources" option.
2.b) Download bled-0.1.apk and install it on your phone. Don't look for it afterwards on your drawer menu as it does not contain real Activity-based application.
2.c) Go to "Settings", "Accessibility". Tick "Accessibility" and "bLED". Just ignore the warning when ticking "bLED", as I'm not interested on your personal details
Lock your phone. Have missed calls, SMSes, Whatsapp messages, GMail, whatever. They're all going to be blinked by bLED
Known issue
- Duration of blinking is currently limited to 15 minutes
- There will be several seconds of delay before it will blink sms and missed calls. It happens due to the currenlty implemented notification logic. More of a workaround instead of elegant solution. Hope will have better logic for next releases on handling them.
- There are still some mutex locking bugs on KKA kernel. Very ironic, there seems to be some struggle to support PMIC on the currently best SoC in the world, by looking at the kernel codes.
Enjoy

Well I just got the kernel module working by last night and the accessibility service earlier today. Not enough time to tell yet
Will try blinking it tonight and see how much battery it would drain
But you can always disable the bLED accessibility service when you don't need it

THANK YOU MAN !
This was such an anoying point that made me not love my Note !
Please keep developing, you are doing great work for all Note Users !
I hope MIUI and Cyanogen will make a Note-Port soon and integrate your LED Notification MOD

Which kernel and version are you using? Yes there circumstances where the mutex crashes the system. It happened once on my KKA, but never afterwards. I think I have to consider some other ways for doing semaphores for bLED

Ok the Abyss kernel had BLN mod patched on the melfas touchkey driver. You needs kernels with stock melfas touchkey driver, left intact. Seems that BLN is not functional yet on the Abyss kernel anyway? Maybe you can ask him to revert to original melfas touchkey driver from Samsung

Is anyone having issues mounting the external SD card or charging with this kernel? It just does not get recognized.
For some reason, after flashing, my phone does not connect to the laptop, when i fastboot a stock .490 kernel, it's ok.

[Closed] - Reduce intensity vibration

Hi guys
I'm probably not the only one that has some remarks with the vibration of the HTC One.
When I am on the lowest volume setting, other people can hear my phone vibrate out of my pocket.
It's even more horrible that I can only head the vibration instead of the noticiation sound when I recieve a text.
Does anybody have a solution to fix this issue or do I have to live with it?

You need a custom kernel like Elementalx, Faux with the support at this mod and the Faux app for edit the density of the vibration
And I guess I'll lose all the data when installing a custom kernel?

You won't lose anything if your phone is already modded.
If it isn't already modded you will lose data unlocking the bootloader.
Well, my phone has an unlocked bootloader + root access.
So that means that I can freely change the kernel without any consequences?

Is that just the HTC One (as phone version) or the UL/Sprint/ATT version?

I just flashed the ElementalX kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249774)
But apparantly, the vibration didn't reduce (or I coudn't find an option to do it).
Is that kernel able to modify the intensity?

I remeber that i edited it with Faux app.
You can try with it.
I can't seem to find a kernel for the 4.3 Sense version.
Is it just me over doesn't it exist?

***Easier method*** ***NO ROOT***
If you want to get rid of vibration completely, but without putting your phone on silent, just use App Ops! You need something to launch the activity, there are App-ops launchers in Play Store or you could just use a Tasker task. Once you're in, just go through all your apps and untick the "Vibration" permission!
No root required!!!

Hi, my i9000 has broken homebutton, how can I enable soft keys (navbar) to replace touch keys and phisical home button?

Add
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
to the end of build.prop - that should sort it out for you. If you have real problems doing that then I can let you have a zip to flash through recovery that does it for you. You can find this info in XDA but you do need to take some time to search.

You'll have to repeat it after flashing a new nightly or milestone.

[MOD][XtreStoLite] Ambient Display for XtreStoLite Marshmallow

I tried this mod ONLY on XtreStoLite for G920F model.
If you wanna test this on other carriers using same rom, please BACKUP first.
If something goes wrong, just RESTORE!
Let me be very clear: I am not responsible if your device explodes, your dog runs away, your wife leaves you for your dog, the shoe factory shuts down and
you can't get your favourite shoes anymore or anything else that may or may not happen after using this script. Please make a FULL BACKUP, possibly from TWRP. You have been warned.

Hi guys, I edited the "framework-res.apk" file of XtreStoLite ROM adding Ambient Display feature like on Nexus (Android 5.0+). Surely it works on G920F, tested personally, if you wanna try on other S6 just try yourself.
I followed this guide. Credits to him.
///INSTALL:
- Flash the zip "AmbientDisplay-vX.X"
- Reboot
///UNINSTALL:
- Flash the zip "framework_restore"
- Reboot
Simple as it looks.
///BUGS:
- Gyroscope and proximity sensor not working for ambient display
- Touchscreen not working when screen fades (have to press power or home button first)
- Screen wake animation doesn't work (no fade)
- On edge model night clock won't work
- Every 3 dot menu animation will present a sort of lag/no animation
- Not working properly with Samsung "Good Lock" UI
///DOWNLOAD:
Each version I provide will be compatible ONLY with the one I write (example: ambient v3.3 --> xtrestolite v3.3)
- v3.3 installer
- v3.3 uninstaller
- v3.3.1 installer
- v3.3.1 uninstaller

There are lots of versions of stock rom, lots of different firmwares and I can't download every single firmware for extracting, decompile and recompile framework. So I just limit this mod for XtreStoLite.
Obliviously you can try adding yourself following the guide I linked in OP.
