I have an HTC One from Bell Canada. I want to try to root and install CWM on my phone (not the first time i'll be doing that), but before I try I want to make sure I follow the right tutorial and download the right stuff to reduce chance of bricking my phone. I saw there are multiple "version" of the HTC One (T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, M7, One S, One V, One VX, etc.).
can someone tell me which tutorial I should pick for my phone?
Here's some screenshots to help:

Got the HTC One (says M7 in the bootloader) from HTC directly. Popped in my SIM card and it connected right away to AT&T's LTE network. Now I'm unlocking and installing the recovery in hopes of a new ROM.
so...
1) Which version of the HTC One is this, ie which version of Recovery software do I install?
2) Does this matter, or is the recovery compatible across versions of the One?
Sorry for the newbage, but I figure I'd better ask than potentially brick myself.
Hi, I just got 2 HTC ones. I just rooted mine which is the HK model 801s.
I got some trouble flashing CWM but now it's ok. It's now unlocked and perm rooted.
My wife's 802D is half in Chinese. Worst, it's not Google Play but Baidu Apps. So most of the apps she wanna use are in Chinese (most of the time does not exist at all...).
Anyway, such a long story short:
I want to know if the rooting and flashing process used in xda has been tried on a Chinese model (802d, t or w)? it's the one with removable back cover, SD slot and dual SIM.
I would like to go through the whole process in order to flash another RUU. She likes stock ROMs but not with only CN soft
Nb: I'm not talking of apps blocked here (facebook, twitter...). It's just the apps I have on the HK which are working perfectly here (flickr, skype...).
nb2: i already tried to install Google Play. it just opens then closes...
Thanks in advance... If I need to provide any more info, just ask. I will at least update with version nbrs later.
Based on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236
802d is m7_D type but on xda it's mainly for m7_UL. Mine (801s) is UL version.
The 802d is TDCDMA (while US is CDMA and EU/HK are WCDMA), no idea about 4G.
Solved? Maybe...
We can close this thread, it's already discussed here:

Hello there
I ordered a 32GB HTC One which is coming in about an hour and since I had a HTC One X before, I know that installing ROMs and such isn't as easy as it is on my Samsung Galaxy SIII. I am pretty sure the CID of my HTC One is going to be HTC__J15 like the One X (since that's for the whole Middle East) and so I was wondering what the latest JellyBean is for my device? Is it 4.1.2 or 4.2.2? And speaking of which, I found this website posted on this forum:
http://bugsylawson.com/files/category/49-m7/
But unfortunately I don't understand that codes affiliated with regions and such and any help would be much appreciated.
The phone I ordered is slightly used, only for 4 days, and with local warranty but I would like to install (or re-install if there's no newer JellyBean) the software so I can set it up as a new phone, and I am guessing that's done using the RUU, correct? And if so, which one should I use? I would like to completely format the device and set it up from the start.
And one final thing, would someone be able to link me to an easy rooting guide? And do I get the unlock token using HTC's developer section of the website and use fastboot like I did with HTC One X?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time.

First of all I would just do a factory reset, assuming it is a factory default rom, and then leave it for a week or two to get used to it before going down the route of unlocking etc. Read through the One forums to learn all you can before customising.
There is a good guide here for unlocking, rooting, etc manually http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618
A useful All-in-One toolkit to guide you through the process here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942
Look through the One Android Development forum and you will find several custom Roms available which would be suitable for the International Version of the One http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2119
You will need a custom rom as once rooted and unlocked you won't be able to use an RUU nor will you be able to get HTC or carrier OTA updates.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I am going to use the phone as it is for a while and see how things work out. I would really like to install the bulletproof kernel which enables the HTC logo as a capacitive button because I am not liking the idea of the two buttons - I am just too used to having three.
The One is as easy to root and ROM as any other device. You DO NOT need to be concerned with the CID or RUU if you download Mikes stock 4.2.2 ROM. Its dead stock (with the option to root) and works without needing to change the CID or flash an RUU

Yeah I have used Android Revolution HD on several devices before and it is the perfect ROM. I already unlocked the bootloader and am in the process of installing recovery as well as downloading and installing ARHD. I was able to locate the Bulletproof kernel which enables the HTC logo as a menu button and it seems like the installation is done from recovery, very simple, is that really the case or is there more to it?
Here's the link for reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233665
Thanks

Its easy to flash the kernel but beware as these kernels are not based on the newest or even second newest source so it will decrease performance slightly when you compare apples to apples

Hello everyone,
1.) I just ordered HTC One from O2 (in Germany), there is no O2 thread, so which version of HTC One am I going to get ?
2.) If you don't know, how can I check it ?
3.) Once I know that, how can I convert my HTC One to Google play in order to get official updates from Google without having to wait for O2 (I won't be using phone in Germany anyway) ?
I am fine with rooting my phone, I don't want custom roms though. (If there is no way for googlep lay edition updates, I probably would be open to revolution or CM).
If you readers have some time and information about it, I would really appreciate you sharing it.

1) most likely, an international edition: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236
2) do a "fastboot getvar all" that will tell you all the info you need about the phone
3) plenty of guides around, find one that looks comfortable to you; you'll need to go S-Off for a full conversion
(If you're going to have to change MID, instead of using the ENG HBOOT tutorial, use this tool instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535365 much easier, quicker, and not dangerous)
also once you S-Off, I HIGHLY recommend DO NOT GO S-ON.
So I want android 6 on my rooted sprint htc one m8. The update is available. Of course I don't have stock recovery, so I can't take it. I watched from youtube / watch?v=PPPT5J8xG6w(can't post links). When I get to readcid. The cid is 111111. Help?
I dont want to reset either
You can pull the stock recovery from the Full Firmware located in the RUU/Firmware thread.
Is there a forum that explains this process in more detail? I am more of a computer geek than an android one.
