Hi all
okay today i am thinking to upgrade my firmware by using default kies upgrade option
but i have a doubt that weather it will delete all of my data?
and if it deletes it recommend me a good backup software (free/paid) which i can use to backup almost every data in phone memory as well as internal memory card
yes do the backup
last time i flashed, it wiped out everything
titanium backup is the best for backup
or Astro File Manager which comes with a backup option
Hi
I just upgraded my Note GT N7000 from RocketICS ROM to [ROM][GT-N7000][JB][4.1.1] CyanogenMod 10 - Official Preview [#4].
I backed up all my data using Titanium Backup 5.5.1 including contacts and other user data.
Although everything else seems to work fine..I am not able to restore my contacts data using the titanium backup. The restore is successful but I am not able to see the contacts.
I also tried to sync my contacts through my google account but only half of them got restored.
Thanks
Ankush
I think by using titanium backup, you cant restore contacts
contacts app and the app data like contact preferences get restored
Andtry to sync again, you will be getting all your contacts back

Titanium Backup uses both internal and external sd data......be sure u dont format or delete under titanium backup file....

So, what is the best way you have found to backup all apps + userdata on your One? Say i wanted to switch ROM's
If it were on the cloud it would be a plus. Ideas?
I've always used Titanium but I just switched to Carbon. It backs everything up to any one of your cloud storage accounts. I think Titanium does this now too, but I just found Carbon easier to use transferring everything into my One.
Titanium was a pain for me to get setup properly but now I have it do dropbox nightlys of just changed data and a full backup weekly to google drive.
When you restore carbon do you have to do it one by one

Currently on a stock 2.3 rooted Incredible and waiting on the Verizon Htc One. My only concern (besides rooting) is transferring old save game data from the Inc to the One.
Will this be as easy as putting my Titanium Backup folder on internal storage of the One and just hitting restore to get my data to transfer or will I have to jump through hoops?

Yep, but depending on the game it may store data differently for 4.0+ versus 2.3 (I doubt it tho )
Your game might also save saved data to the SD rather than to /data. So titanium backup might not even be needed (but I can't be sure if that is the case)

I have tried to restore my backed up sms I haven't had success using different apps. Is it impossible? I just upgraded to kit kat from being on jb. The messages were backed up in jb. Will it be possible to restore them into a kitkat rom? Or stock kiitkat?
Titanium back ..menu then backup XML I think

Different apps store the backup in different formats, so you can't use one app to make a back up and another app to restore it. You have to restore with the same app you used to back up. (Unfortunately, some apps could use the external SD card in 4.3, but can't in 4.4, so you have to copy the backup folder from the external card to the "internal card" to restore. That can get tricky using the phone itself, so connect the phone to a computer and copy the folder from external [Card] to internal [Phone].)
The app I used can read it but won't restore them. Unfortunately I didn't use titanium backup
I had the same issue with SMS Backup + when I upgraded to KK. The fix for me was getting access to APP OPS. Apparently access was hidden in some recent updates . I found an app in the store that gave me access again. Once there I found SMS backup and gave it permission to write, read, send etc.. Once I did that it backed up just fine.
Hope this helps
