Hello everybody! I made a cm9 b14 nandroid backup a week ago to try out the new miui mintberry, now if i try to restore the backup i have some problems like no statusbar and random recovery reboots. So I came back to miui and now i m considering doing a nandroid backup of miui mintberry in order to try the new cm9 b15, i wanted to ask you what could have caused the problems described so to avaid them if (after doing the miui backup and flashing the new rom) i will want to go back to miui in the next days. Another question is: do i loose all the saved passwords (gmail wattsapp facebook freesms..) by doing a nandroid backup or they are stored with all the data?
I hope my questions are clear
Thank you in advance!

Hi, I'm running CyanogenMod 7.1 now, and I have ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6.
But I want to restore and Clockwork won't see my backup because it was done in a newer different version 5.0.2.7.
How can I restore my backup ?
to restore your nandroid backup its best to first install the rom you took the back up off.. factory reset your phone and then do a fresh install of the rom you backed up.. after flashing restore the backup..
you won't have any FCs or anything with this method.
Hello,
I recently migrated from gingerbread 2.3.3 (DarkyROM) to mackay 4.2.2 ROM. I made nandroid backup with CWM before I flashed mackay ROM and also full backup with Titanium Backup Pro. Everything went well all except restoring contacts. After I flashed mackay ROM I realized that they weren't synchronized with Google account. I've tried to restore them with titanium backup pro, but it didn't make any difference.
Now I have TWRP which can't see 2.3.3 nandroid I've made with CWM. My guess is that the solution is to switch to CWM, sync contacts to google, switch back to TWRP, restore nandroid of 4.2.2 ROM and then sync contacts from Google server again.
However, I have no idea how to do that.
Please help, it's pretty urgent.
Thanks!
Have a look at the McKay kernel thread for the flashable McKay settings app and use that to switch between the cwm and twrp recovery

Thanks, I actually got to CWM. However, are you sure I can just restore 2.3.3 GB? Because when I migrated from 2.2.3, I had to install CM9 before CM10.1 in order to avoid IMEI loss.
Currently on cm 10.1.3 stable, planning on flashing cm 10.2 snapshot. I know I need to flash the rom then the updated gapps, but when recovering apps via titanium do I restore the gapp data? Or do I have to remove them from my titanium backup before restoring

Since you are flashing a completely different version of cyanogenmod -ie going from 4.2 to 4.3-, you MUST flash the gapps for 4.3-, I remember accidentally flashing the wrong one with the aokp rom, and it didnt work right, either it kept crashing the systemui framework, or it just kept bootlooping. Now if you wanted to restore your gapps from titanium backup, that also wont work, because again you need the gapps for 4.3. I forget why it wont work, it just doesnt lol.
PS. Now if you wanted to just restore the data from the gapps, I am not sure if that would work, so you could try perhaps backing up the rom after updating then attempt to restore, if it doesnt work then obviously restore your rom backup.
Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. It happens after restore from previous 4.3 backup.
I removed external SD for safety. Backup your internal SD , if you have access through custom recovery[
I flashed another 4.3 through Odin.
I did factory reset through android recovery(not cwm/twrp) Warning: this will wipe all your data in your internal sd.
Then it worked.
Later I restored from cm 11 backup. I didn't tried stock restore again.
(I tried different other ways nothing worked. )
Hi Devs.
I am using Cocore kernal and my mobile is rooted. I have cwm 6. I took backup of my stock rom and after that i moved to Cm11. I installed few apps on cm11 after that i took backup of cm11 also. After That I have installed PACROM and i have backup of that rom also.
Now I have Nandroid backup of all three ROMs( STOCK, CM and PAC)
Then i have decided to restore my stock ROM . Everything went well but when it started it start without any user data and start in start up wizard with message goole.process fail and i got stuck in setting wizard.
After that i tried to restore CM and This time CM start as new rom without gapps and user data but works very fine.
Finally I try to restore pac and it comes out with same result as CM.
Now whenever i restore my backup it restore only rom but no user data or apps.
After that i tried many solution.
I have found one problem in recovery that failed to mount preload
I have fixed the permission but unable to mount preload .
I found one wierd solution to restore stock with data. : First i restore it in CWM after that i reboot my device in download mode and i flash stock JB via odin on my device and suddenly my stock rom start working with all user data
But this solution works with only stock backup and i don't want to restore stock every time via odin.
So please help me to solve this problem.

When you want to go back from CM 11 and 10.2 to previous version of Android you must either to format Prelaod parition, or flash stock JB. On those two versions developers are using that partition as SWAP, so it is has differend format and can't be used for files that should be there on previous versions.
Solution 1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612540
Solution 2: What you did, flash stock JB from Odin.
