[Help] Booting Problem on STOCK ROM - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not able to turn on my device after i've installed the STOCK ROM with ODIN.(I had to do this due to a hard brick) I've tried it like a thousand times. The booting progress is stopped when the samsung logo is displayed (over and over again). I have tried many Firmwares ( 2 of which is DDkQ6 and DDKQ8..these two were working perfectly before THE BRICKING took place).

What did you do to brick the phone?

1)I wanted to try out the stock firmware 2.3.6 (DDKQ8)..installed correctly ..was working fine
2) A) then i wanted to go back to Cyanogenmod 10.1 (wich i was using before STOCKING)
B)i go to recovery...install cwm 5.0.2.6...** it wouldnt work/start(stuck in logo with GREEN triangle). ** and nothing else also would start.even the 2.3.6 stock rom.
C)Then i stock it again and go directly into the recovery and i install cwm 6.0.1.4 ...it would start BUT show me *cant mount cache*
D)Then i install cyanogen mod 7...wont start....slimbeanV1 wont work....and etc....NOTHING ELSE IS WORKING
3)So i STOCK it again..this time with 2.3.4 (DDKQ6) (same version when i bought from store)..this is just showing samsung logo over and over agin.
OH AND YA I EVN TRIED INSTALLING IT FROM A TOUCH RECOVERY. DINT WORK

Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache, provided, you haven't used any a2sd scripts that move dalvic cache to sd-ext, etc.

When I first installed the first cm9 not the one now the first one released for the note I had a similar problem and all I did is factory reset (don't do that) wipe cache wipe dalvik fix permissions and everything was OK
Just some additional information:
I went from Stock GB KKA -> Rooted via Zergrush exploit (got cf-root, SuperUser and CWM)-> Installed Mobile Odin -> Flashed Stock Official LPY Firmware with everroot etc. (Got SuperSU and CWM is gone)

i had the same problem.
try without sdcard.
if it works without sdcard format it in an external reader.
In this case factory reset works. If you have cwm You can do that vai CWM recovery but as we know this will possibly brock ur phn. But if you sont have just go in android recovery just do ur factory reset from there.. I hope this helped. Njoy....

Factory reset
Hi all guys,
reading this post I saw that everyone said not to use a factory reset from CWM, because otherwise there's the risk to brick the phone.
Might I ask why?
I've used the factory reset many times in GB, and in ICS aswell (but on an HTC desire, not on the Galaxy note).
So.. why is it unsafe to factory reset trough CWM, if using ICS LPY?
I'm back on stock LPY and rooted again, everything works again!
Thank you guys, for your help!

back up your important data to your sd card just in case and remove it before doing anything. also some apps lets you back up user data. back that up to your sd card as well. will save you headache from setting up your apps again.

Stock firmware problem after Cyanogenmod

A friend of mine suggested that I try Cyanogenmod, so I decided to flash my Galaxy Mini. The first problem was the bootloop, and no matter how many times I wiped the phone, it was always stuck at the Android text. So I decided to try the Honeycomb mod. Same happened. So I decided to flash it with Android 2.3.6 from sammobile.com. At last, it started working. However, Google Play still sees every application as "installed" (but of course they aren't), and when I try to delete from GP, nothing happens. After trying to install other applications, I realized that I cannot install anything from the market. Any idea how I could solve this problem? I would be very grateful.

Yes I did. I used CWM 5.0.2.6. The funny part is that after being turned off 3 times, Google Play started working But if there's a solution to the bootloop problem I would love to hear it. I searched this forum and the internet and nothing, even though I followed a cyanogenmod wiki's guide.
did you wipe two times before and after flashing cyanogenmod rom
How old is your sd card? because same happened to me. I needed to format my sd card.

Anyway, tour problem is the CWM you used, didnt u see the DONT USE sign in the version 5.0.2.6 thread? 5.0.2.8 would avoided those errors in flashing custom ROMs

No, I didn't see the sign, and to be honest, I didn't even know that there was a 5.0.2.8 version. Do you think it would work with that?

So I downloaded the new recovery, flashed it via Odin, and now nothing works. When I enter recovery it says that it can't mount /cache/log and /cache/recovery (I think it says these two). I looked around and found that it could be stuck in a bootloop, but luckily Android loads. However, I can't root my phone due to several errors, so I can't install Cyanogen mod. I think I'll give up now But thanks for all the help!

Thanks very much Here is what I did step by step:
I returned to the stock recovery by installing the stock firmware. I rooted the phone with stock recovery. Then I installed CWM recovery 5.2.0.8, but I still get the same error in CWM: it can't mount a few things. I still tried installing Cyanogen without wiping, and of course it's stuck at the boot screen with the Android text (I had a feeling that it wouldn't work if the recovery is not fully operational, so I did not want to lose every contact for nothing again). I read that this problem can be solved by formatting the SDCard, so I tried formatting it with PC and the phone also, but nothing. So now I'm back to the stock firmware and recovery with my phone rooted and no idea how to solve any of the problems.

Flasging CyanogenMod without wipes? Seriously? Thats exactly why it never worked!! CWM cant mount somethings because you were in stock ROM

This was just a trial run due to the new CWM recovery. If you read back, I already wrote that I tried wiping both data and cache before and after flashing Cyanogen mod. This "mounting" problem only came up with the new CWM recovery, 5.2.0.8.
The basic Google Apps were all there, since I used a rom from sammobile.com, downloaded programs like poweramp were the ones that did not work.

SGS I9000 too slow!

Hy everybody,
I have got a big problem with my i9000: it doesn't start up very properly i mean it takes a lot to start the S logo animation, the animation is very slow (really low fps) and it usually stuck at the end of the animation (only once i managed to arrive to the menu where you have to choose the language but the touchscreen was not responding). Even CWM recovery is slow! There is a lag while choosing the options. I also tried to reflash using stock Samsung ROMS such as XXJPU and XXJW7 but i get the same issue. Also tried to install custom ROM via CWM, i get the speed back but touch doesn't work! I have already searched on the site for this issue and got a thread that had exactly the same problem but didn't manged to get out from this situation (here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422634, it's exactly the same issue!).
I have been flashing and repearing android devices for years and this is the first time i meet this kind of issue! Maybe it is a bootloader problem or motherboard, but i ask you experts before getting in troubles =)
Sorry for my bad english :victory:
Cheers
I think it is a hardware problem mate(since you flashed too many roms...)

Nope, but you must not try to reboot after formatting it, . You need to power down, do a battery pull and flash a ROM package with boot loader for phone to function

Uhm every rom i tried via CWM, and even the stock rom when it gets loaded, doesn't give me a working touchscreen. This problem happened last month too and after flashing a lot of roms i managed to solve it in the end, but i was just lucky because i didn't know what the device had and i solved just flashing random ROMS and getting solved with XXJW7. That's why i'm not so sure it is a hardware problem =(

Try Elite JB RC12.1, if working on jw7, do a android backup, then you'll have to flash JVU 1st, if touch screen works then it'll work with the JB rom, here's a trick, instructions are there but do this. Backup everything to pc, take out sdcard, before flash jvu, do 3 wipes, data, cache, dalvik, then go to usb mount, format 5 items there, boot, data, cache, system, sdcard ( last wipes everything). Now do 3 wipes again, yes again, flash JVU, root, transfer Rom to sdcard, 3 wipes, do usb mount, then 4 formats (not sdcard), 3 wipes again, flash JB rom. If bootloop, no bigger it just flashed kernel, take battery out, wait back in recovery flash Rom. You'll be on JB.

Even if you dont have warranty give it for repairing..

Flashing your phone multiple times, does not make it slow. I have flash my phone almost every day, to check out new roms that are released every day and my phone hasn't slowed down a bit

Cheers

Why dont you try flashing your original firmware via Odin with "repartition" ticked. Once that is done, let your phone boot and see if there's and lag. If lag still persists, go to CMW, format system, boot and data and restart your phone and then check again
Touchscreen problem

Hey!! I tried various ROM combinations and it worked for a few months. Although even after a few days, the problem would reappear and I was forced to flash again(it started working after flashing about 30-50 ROMs). Finally, a month back, I came across the same problem again but this time, nothing worked. After hitting my head on the wall for a month, I finally gave it to the Samsung ppl and they figured that the problem was with the touchscreen!!(zoinks!!) They will replace the touchscreen and it would cost me $145(8,000INR , expired warranty). They'll return it in 4 days. I'll post more when I get my SGS back.
Hmm, looks to me, you must have flashed something wrong/flashing process goes wrong. I would suggest this 'solution':
1. Flash a new recovery system. I suggest the latest TWRP recovery or flash the latest CWM. To me, CWM has given me lots of problems. You can flash it through computer or through CWM using their flashable zip.
2. Once then, wipe everything! Data, cache, dalvik cache.
3. Next, format the system! If you formatted system, you will lose your current rom. Meaning the phone will not boot up until you install/flash a ROM.
4.Install necessary stuff like Google Apps
Done! Things should be working right now. I had problems like you, my phone sometimes takes 2-5 minutes to boot.
I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001. So, I flashed Acro86's ICS rom. Super smooth.
Hope I helped you!

Hi, I have exactly the same problems.
I guess it's also touch error, I already changed it once and after the year and then started having problems as it was pressed alone, stuck all the time and stopped working. As I was reading and testing, I think I'll buy again the touch.

[Q] JELLYBLAST V3.0.3(Pop Plus) - Phone keeps restarting

I flashed JELLYBLAST V3.0.3 rom on my girl frind's S5570I(Galaxy Pop Plus) the other day and the phone kept restarting every 30sec and by entering the settings the phone goes to a black screen and halts,I tried a couple of times and the results were the same,I installed stock rom/kernel again and tried flashing only the kernel COR PLENUS KERNEL and again the phone kept restarting,so it made me stick to the stock rom.I was wondering if the problem persists without flashing the kernel and flashing only the rom?Or should i try another costume rom?Can anyone suggest some good roms for this phone?
Did u try this?
from CMW mode
wipe data/factory reset
then
wipe cache partition
then
reboot system ...
That action must be performed after u first time upgraded to JB.
I did that and my device is pretty running well without hitch...

As far I know CWM 6 isn't really stable on our ace. Better use CWM 5.

try px recovery it helps sometimes in such situations
earlier fly on mod showed me this error and i flashed it successfully through px so give it a shot
:good::good:good luck buddy:good::good:
Backup your sdcard's data to your PC using a USB adapter then FORMAT it in FAT32 format finally DOWNLOAD again the rom.
I think your sdcard might be corrupted or the rom file you downloaded might not be downloaded correctly so the file is corrupted too.
Try it and report

Well i as coming here to say that i even tryed download mode, another round of diferent roms. And i tryed with the card of a friend of mine but still i get abort error or status 7.
I didnt try to format the cards though... I'll try in the coming days that have another go and do what you're saying.
(as of now i spend 6hours trying to fix my ace... i guess i'm almost giving up... and going to buy a new phone... what is a stupid thing but the phone isnt helping... and i tryed everything from the book )
Thanks. I'll report soon.
After doing the 3 usual wipes in CWM recovery
Go to Mount and storage and see if there is anything mounted like cache or sd-ext (if yes, unmount it then try flashing the ROM)
If that doesn't work try a different ROM.
Additionally, reflash CWM5 and restore your old Nandroid Backup
Report back.
Good luck...
