Hi all,
I received a used AT&T M7, described as "not booting up." And it sure wasn't. Stock would simply bootloop. Unlocking and installing CM11 went smoothly, and I was super happy! Until I realized that there was no network connection. My baseband and IMEI were unknown. After messing with this for many many hours, my best guess is that the radio partition is corrupted. And since I have S-On, I have been trying to flash a signed radio. The Guru_Reset_M7_5.12.502.2_clsA seemed to complete successfully, however nothing has changed. More evidence for this is that I needed to SIM unlock, so I tried to use sieempi. It was unsuccessful, with a not found error for cid(?), IMEI, and others (I don't have the exact error right now, but it was common enough that it was autocompleted in Google search). Finally, adb shell-ing when in TWRP, and trying to md5sum the mmcblk0p31 gave me IO errors. I've tried rumrunner, and firewater to no avail. I would consider sunshine, if it was guaranteed that it would fix my issue. It also needed a non-debug kernel, so I couldn't use it in CM. I also can't find the latest RUU .exe for my specific mid/cid: PN0712000/CWS__001.
My IMEI does show up in fastboot getvar all. Reflashed stock as well, same bootloop.
I have hboot 1.57.000, S-On, 5.12.502.2, bootloader unlocked. Any ideas guys?

If it's not a hardware problem, then running a full RUU could fix it, but since i cant see a 5.12.502.2 or higher ruu (it might exist I just havent checked)
you could reflash the signed 5.12.502.2 firmware zip from @clsA thread
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358543602
you will need to relock bootloader since you are s-on
Code:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 5.12.502.2.firmware.zip
[I][SIZE="1"]... wait a few seconds for the reboot[/SIZE][/I]
fastboot flash zip 5.12.502.2.firmware.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
check the command prompt output while it's flashing if anything is bypassed
this is what a firmware flash looks like http://pastebin.com/HiA36mBZ
(the SBL1 bypassed is normal, because there are several versions in the zip i flashed, and only one of them works)
Note that the signed 5.12.502.2 firmware only contains the following files:
Code:
boot.img
hboot_signedbyaa.img
radio.img
rcdata.img
recovery.img
rpm.img
sbl1-1.img
sbl1-2.img
sbl1-3.img
splash1.nb0
only one of the sbl1-x.img will get flashed the other will get bypassed.
then do a factory reset within stock recovery
finally unlock again, and reflash TWRP + a ROM

Hi there,
I have also the problem with unknown baseband and IMEI. I try install any stock RUU, Hboot, kernels, radio etc... Doesn't help!
Can anyone give me some commands to maybe wipe or format the partition where the Baseband and IMEI is located? Like a samsung phones EFS partitions? I think that's will resolve the problem...
Waiting for someone to share the details...
CHeers!
I flashed MB886_att-user-4.1.1-9.8.0Q-97_MB886_FFW-20-27-release-keys-ATT-US_BuildA.xml.zip and it worked fined, it showed some 6mb update, and so i updated. it went to bootloader and a fastboot error came, that downgrade security version and update gpt_main version failed.
Now whatever i try to flash, it returns the error that invalid partition name...
Is there a way to fix this..
Does anyone have the gpt_main0.bin file of the updated nimax mexican retail ROM?
I had this same error once because battery was not full. Try that
Hello guys, need assistance . I am stuck on AP fastboot flash mode.
flashing firmwares with RSD lite dosent works, I think something wrong with gpt.bin, bcz always stuck there.
I have moto x sprint xt1056 and this is the message on screen
-----------------------------
downgraded security version
update get_main version failed
Failed to hab check for gpt_backup:0x35
CID Read Failure
Invalid CID status 0x69
CustomerID error.Contact Dealer:0xdead
No SP partition found.
Please help.
I accidentally flashed the wrong firmware on this device. Was meaning to flash stock firmware. But accidentally clicked the wrong "flash.bat" script. My reasoning was to fix an error with the ota update for the September patch. The bootloader is indeed locked and is not unlockable. and I can partly flash stock firmware but the boot.img and gpt.bin keep throwing a error "preflash validation failed". The bootloader logs show "failed to validate boot img". The firmware I tried to flash to fix it was the stock firmware. The variant of this device is ali. Carrier is tracfone. Someone please help. I would rather this device be of use instead of a close to $300 paper weight.
My mi 8se is unlocked and twrp is installed the before.
My phone stuck at fastboot after update,
neither miflash or flashing twrp is worked.
miflash shows error message “ error:FAILED (remote: Check device console.)”
flashing twrp or boot image are failed.
shows the message FAILED( remote: Error flashing partition : Device Error )
I need help to solve this issue.
solved
problem solved by flashing system.img and boot.img.
however twrp cannot be flashed, still return error message in miui 11.0.2.0 china rom.
I have the same problem with Mi8 SE
