ROM Tonyp build4 /kowalski kernell 100p5 (126) / new bootloader
After flashing the latest kowalski kernell 100p5 (126) from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097788) the manual brightness adjustment stopped working. I did a cache + dalvik wipe should i flash the tonyp again?
Also on the KK manager the area where where we could tune the auto brightness disappeared...
Anyone experiencing the same?
downloaded the lates from nightlies
yes you gotta download it from nightlies folder, 100p5 had problems with brightness.

I am using etana kernel 2.6.32 , i ve tried a lot of version since 1 months,
I am satisfied with this kernel, but the only issue for me is the automatic set up of brigthness.
The phone when is in "on automatic brightness" is always flickering expecially when i am in bright ambient.
I ve tried to play with advanced set up of brightess but always the same story.
Do you have any suggestion for this issue?
Ciao
Try the new version , aprilĀ“s 07 , its 3.0 , and works fine. this issue is fixed
I ve tried the new kernel 3.0 of 15 th april but Still the same issue. Do you have any suggestion or is normal this issue with etana kernel? Thanks

Which kernel is best to my phone when I installed [ALPHA] [ROM] [4.1.1] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy S. And if I change the kernel do I need to back up or reinstall the rom? And whether my files will be deleted from the device?
Thanks in advance.
This kernel is for you.
To change kernel you have to wipe cache, dalvik-cache and at the end flash ZIP file with kernel.
Your files will not be deleted, if you'll do this right, as I wrote.
If you have many files, do backup.

Semaphore kernel was good on CM9. Haven't tried the jellybean version. You don't NEED to change it. Most kernel installers will clear out what needs to be cleared, I don't bother wiping stuff anymore.

CMC uses CyanogenMod colours (set using AriesParts)
VC is Voodoo Colours (set using Voodoo sound app)
The only real difference is in the colour. I prefer CMC, but AriesParts is broken on CM10 due to bugs with the tvout binary.

I don't know, I've been using devil kernel for a long time now. I just installed the latest CM10 (726) and 1.04 DK and odd things happened. NS Tools would only be displayed in the horizontal view, lock screen would not unlock, odd lag.
Hi
I installed franco.kernel updater from the play store and it was successful, and then i chose stable kernel and then nightly but both made the screen a dim blue ( functioning phone but brightness was very low and bluish).. An un install and a reboot and its back to normal.
Anyone have a fix for the dim blue screen or any franco kernel mods ?
I don't think our phone supported by Franco

I have this weird and interesting bug - the Backlights work properly for instance when using the menus and so on. But when it is supposed to blink (display turned off) it glows permanently. I have tried most settings available to me, ending up disabling the backlights to not drain more battery.
I have flashed various Roms (GIngerbread, MacKay 4.2, CM10.1, AOKP 4.1.2) and no matter how much I flashed and resetted the device, the problem stayed. I tried different kernel (up to Semaphore 2.6.6) as well.
What you could try is to download and install nstools from the market and there inside activate bln on the last site....or with bln pro, which is not free, it should be working too.

Thanks for the response. I tried NSTools with MacKay - no difference.
Buying BLN Pro and Semaphore solved the problem for me. Everything else did not work.
maybe they wontet it so you had to buy it

Which Mackay Kernel do you use? Because in stockkernel which is included in the rom, there is no support of BLN. Mackay has for JB separate Kernels, also for BLN:
http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/kasper_h/kernels/
and here is the kernelthread from Mackkay:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842324
Edit: with semaphore it sould go....but to administate Sema, its better to use semaphore app (from the market) and not using NStools.
On stock V30a (rooted.unrooted no difference) i dont have BSOD. I use AIO-toolkit option 4, repartition new bootloader, installed tonysp CM10.2, 10,1 avatar 10,2 , every rom i get BSOD ? what im doing wrong *
SOLVED - Okay, please apply 2nd core auto hot-plug in Kowalski manager. This has helped others.

You should consider trying Pengus' CM10 ROM. I don't think you can find more stability in custom ROMs than his
You'll love the ROM, just give it a chance
But remember to do a full wipe (wipe system, data, cache and dalvik) before flashing the ROM.
Edit: You'll also find out bluetooth works perfectly fine on his ROM where the more recent ROMs don't have this fully functional.
So theres no fix type what shoud i do ?
Baseband 1035,21_20121130 . Kernel 2.6.39.4
Strange, BSODs should be a thing of the past. In most cases it was the kernel. Are you sure you flash the latest ROM versions with latest Kowalski kernel? Try to flash KK after ROM. If it doesn't help, phrase describe the problem more thoroughly. When is BSOD happening? During call?
