See if this app show the same thing.
If you see the same try to factory reset your phone via settings , but you will loose everything on the phone(accounts, sms , apps etc.) and internal storage will be wiped (remove sd card before).

"Phone storage space is getting low"

I have 200mb of app storage free and both the internal and external SD cards have about 5 gigs free. I'm not low on storage space at all. Why does the phone keep telling me this and how can I stop it? I've tried wiping cache and dalvik cache.

Had the same issue a while ago, I just reflashed my ROM... lol went away..
Same problem
I have the same problem on my SGS. I get the notification even though I have 1.7gig free internal Storage, 0.9gig free usb storage and 2.8gig free on SD card.... WTF?
What's worse is that it's the same even when I flash a different rom.

It depends from app to app. some app are coded that way that they cannot be moved from phone to usb like banking app and few other apps. some games are automatically downloaded to your usb memory and some apps can be moved as well.
please specify which app you are not able to move and i'll check that.
did you find any solution? because I am unable to move too. the button says move to usb storage. but usb storage is not there.

Sorry sorry it says move to sd card. But there's no sd card inserted. There should be a dedicated button to move to the 16 gb storage.
The 16gb in built storage is referred to as sd card.

That's the problem. I cannot use this option. It says unable to move app. Not enough storage space.

So are you saying when first installing the app it's saying no storage space or when you're transferring it to sd card there's not enough space? Two different things.

when I want to transfer the app then it says no space. I have 8 gb free in storage and around 1 gb internal memory free
What rom are you on? If on jb, try transferring the app to sd using application manager, see if that works. If it still complains it's because you have residual odex files left over from previous uninstall or other expired data files and there are threads on how to remove them.

I have stock jb rom 4.1.2
I am trying using application manager, the app2sd also diverts to the default app manager.
In the application manager, what's the status of the move to sd card button? Is it greyed out or click able? If is greyed out, you will need to use root and TB to move then to sd card.

it's clickable, I can click it but it gives error
I am having the same problem.
I did a fresh factory reset (STOCK JB 4.1.2) and format USB Storage because my Note was becoming unreasonably slow. Needless to say, it's lightning fast now, but as I begin installing apps and internal memory starts decreasing, I want to move apps to the internal SD card (USB Storage) which currently has 11gb free. When trying to move I get "Unable to move app. Not enough storage space". How is this possible?
I do NOT want to use an external SD Card, as the phone starts getting slow whenever anything is downloading to it. Even when updating apps it starts getting stupidly slow to do ANYTHING! Rooting is also NOT an option.
I'm incluing some images to give a better perspective.

How to set sd the default data source??

I was shocked when I discovered that the real internal storage is about 3.75 GB and it is quickly be full!!
I have bought SD Card ( 32 GB ) but the data of all applications like games and whatsapp.. etc them dictionary in the internal storage!! I can't install a game with 1.5 g data cause the internal storage is full!! " message " !!! And the SD Card is empty!!! WTF!!
Incredible mobile!! But this is a big and huge mistake is there is no way to solve it! .. So is there any way to solve it and set SD default dictionary for all applications as internal storage guys ??
Thanks everyone..

Exhibit T599N, Insufficient storage space?

Hi everyone.
There's no forum for the Galaxy Exhibit, and everyone posts about it here due to similar hardware. I have 7gb free of storage space on my ext4, and 1 gig free on my internal storage, but updating my apps, I get the Insufficient Storage error. Anyone know what to do? I literally just bought a 32gb SD card so I could have more app space

What works on my S3 Mini is I do a nandroid backup, wipe everything from recovery and then restore my backup. It seems that this way all unnessecary files left from updates are cleared and now there's no more "insufficient space" error Hope I helped!

Adoptable Storage - data lost after restoring to device memory

Hey guys,
have a very important question for me. Today I decided to test the adoptable storage and formatted the SD card as internal storage :crying:. After transferring the data to it, all the data was available, but when I decided to migrate it back to the phone's memory, I cannot read any files, although it's nominal size and EXIF data were kept. Help! I am asking for help, I would like to get the photos back. Please, it's very important to me
