my Z has some problems with the SD card, sd card suddenly removed, few secs later scanning sd card for errors. and it goes untill the sdcard gives up
now i inserted the sdcard into my card reader. and it's dead...
after that, inserting it into the Z, and no response.
after 10 min not using the phone the Z says: insert another sd card (just some translation)
and now, my Z laying on my legs, above my wallet, it scans my OV-card , and suddenly my SD card is recognized? wtf?
nfc+sd=dead sd card? because nfc causes the errors?
i don't have a log or anything else. but have someone some idea how this is happen?

Have you tried reflashing the current Rom you're on or try flashing back to stock?

Yes, I tried
Xperia T or TL users may have experience this. Their phones are known to kill SD Cards. Try connecting your SD Card without your phone.

hi dani
my XV has this kind of problem and my partner also have same problem too, XV have killed your SD card and your SD card may not able to be read in ur PC too, either u need to exchange a new SD card (of course change with under warranty) or go without using SD card. i have no idea why it can happen, 1st SD u use in XV may have this kind of problem, 2nd SD (new) inserted to XV will go fine.
(not sure whether it is a bugs or not)
I had a corrupt sd card in my V. I put it in the PC, it asked me if I wanted to format it and I said no.
Then I ran chkdsk -F on it, and it fixed everything and saved all my files.

hmm, mine 1 totally not able read the corrupted sd card, so change under warranty
Maybe my issue was slightly different. On my V, the message was "Damaged Sd card" and it would not mount on the phone.
On the computer, when I plugged in the Sd card and tried to navigate to the drive, the computer would only prompt me to format it. I couldn't view any files.
But I could say "no" to the prompt, open command prompt, and from c: run chkdsk on the sd drive.
my sdcard now completly unreadeable , both from PC and phone ...
First of all, sorry for creating another post about this SD Card issue, but I'm still in the dark.
I was using a Sandisk 32GB card [image attached] when the * SD CARD UNEXPECTEDLY UNMOUNTED* messages started showing up.
After a while I lost all my data on the cards, and the card was rendered useless, that is to say that, my PC would not detect it ( using the SD Card adapter) and neither would my XZ.
A few hundred in and outs with the card into the pc and xz and somehow my phone detected the card, I then formatted the card and gained usability of it once again.
It still sends me the unmount message sometimes, even though I have no information on it now.
Questions
1. Is it the SD Card itself?
2. Which SD Cards provide a worry free experience, as per your experiences.
3. Any other information pertaining to this topic would be welcome.
Thank You.

Hi guys, I can safely unmount the sd card from my z1 fine. But when I put the sd card back in, the phone does not read it. I have to restart the phone in order to use the sd card again. Any ideas???
The Phone has to be turned off when you insert/take out the SD card otherwise you can mess something up

I agree with you on this one, this is the safest way but the feature of the card and phone is Plug&Play so it should work too even powered on.
Try this way, reboot the phone with the card insert into it, then click "Unmount SD card", wait until message will appear "now you can remove the card" then a message will be on the phone saying, Card Removed, close all the notifications and go back to menu, wait a minute, insert the card again. Do you read the card?
thank you
Thank you for the replies I will try again tomorrow as i dont have the phone in front of me at the moment and i will let you know
ok guys it must have been a freak of the moment because now it works fine! thank you for the help!
I have the same issue with 64GB SDXC and my Z1s. Other cards 32GB or less work fine without reboot.

I got 64GB SDXC and I don't have this problems. You just have to follow the steps, close notifications and wait between one process and another to let the phone to read the card.
It all began yesterday... I was on CM12 and I was browsing the web. Suddenly, I got a toast saying "SD Card unexpectedly removed". It didn't matter to me. HOWEVER, when I went into storage, all I saw under SD Card was erase and unmount sd card options which were grayed out. I thought it was just a bug in CM12... I then installed the stock ROM only to figure out it also didn't detect it. If it is not the systems fault, then is it maybe something else like the kernel??
PS, Yes, I had my SD card inserted properly. Also, my computer won't detect the SD card either.
