Dear friends,
My optimus 2x is giving me hard times from the very first step of rooting and installing custom firmwares.
My Optimus is from FIDO Canada. When I bought it, it had stock 2.3 V25H in it. I rooted it via AIO Toolkit and then the bad time began.
When I restarted after rooting, LG logo appeared for 3 seconds and then a black screen forever. Restarted again and again but nothing happened.
Then I changed bootloader to ICS and flashed Domination via recovery, restarted and the device never booted again even in recovery.
Downloaded V30a kdz for fido via lg and smart flashed it. Device started normally and welcome screen appeared, but touch wasn't working at all.
Thought it's a kernel problem, flashed different kernels and bootloaders and nothing happened.
Please help me ASAP as I am dying to use my phone.
Regards
Try installing stock ics with the all in one toolkit from spyrosk, I that will work for sure.
Maybe you can try after to root and install recovery from the toolkit.

Hi, people i've kinda messed up, i'm new to android and i wanted to try a new rom after i've rooted my phone. now i want to restore it back to default rom, because CM7 didn't function as whished.
i've backed the orginial rom up with rom manager, but when i enter recovery mode using clockwork it all seems fine untill after restore were my phone won't boot
any suggestions?
Think you have to use the ext4toext3 Paul have made.
Search for it in the developer forum

dosen't help me much can you explain further? seems like i'm stuck in clockword recovery mode. i might need to install a new rom?
Just go into recovery mode and flash stock rom and baseband using smartflash

CM7 is EXT3, so I can't see that fix helping. NVflash back to stock, install ClockworkMod the restore /data
Smartflashtool can't find my phone, now it've got in to S/W upgrade and now i'm stuck with please wait while upgrading

If you had cm7. Youve deleted the LG usb drivers. Re install them.

Hello all, I would like to ask, if the phone is stuck on bootloop on the lg logo, should i just flash another rom through cwm. I was using cm7 before and then i thought of using some modded stock rom. So when i flashed it bootlooped for several minutes. Now my phone is working after flashing the latest kang. Is that the correct thing to do? thx

If you flash a Stock ROM coming from a CM7 ROM it is recomended to do a wipe before flashing, and vice versa, or else it will get stuck on boot loop.

I have to add: that happens due to the different file system. Cm7 uses ext3 I believe and stock roms something else.

I had rooted my Optimus Black right from the first week i had bought in May 2012. Tried all the possible custom ROM's out there. Huexx's Zeus ROM was my favourite. But due to power problems (abrupt restarts and excessive heating during charging) I had to give my Black to service center for repair. I made sure that I switched back to stock ROM before I give it back to the service center.
Since then, I have been unable to ROOT it !!
Tried all the possible methods to root it:
CWM Injection, Smartflash resulted into BOOTLOOP's when i tried to flash older V10 and V20 firmwares. Only firmwares that worked were V20 F and V20 G.
This got me really frustrated as I just couldnt ROOT IT.
Today I flashed European V30 with the intention of ROOTING it with Unlockroot.
This time i was successful in ROOTING.
I installed Rom Manager, Flashed CLockwordmod Recovery. Rebooted into recovery and was greeted with a "LG Security Error" !!!! The phone just wont start.
What is going on ?? Is my bootloader locked ?? I dont know ??
Can someone please help me ??
Official ICS has bootloader locked.
lg putted a "crc check" on the bootloader so if its modified like your case, it gives a security error

Does that mean I am stuck on STOCK firmware from now on ?? This sucks.
I also came across things like for the Optimus G and Nitro.
Cant anything be done regarding this matter for the Black ?
Removing the very essence of andriod OS by LG by resorting to such stupidity really DISGUSTS me.
Please Dev's, come up with something. STOCK LG roms suck ass.
yes you cannot have cwm with that rom (atleast this easy)
flash another rom with smartflashtool
Download THIS and use THIS tutorial .. you`ll get Gingerbread rooted. After this install rom manager and you can install custom rom.

Tried it but FAILED.
STUCK on LG logo with the bottom lights blinking. Waited for more than 10 mins but just stuck there.
As I had mentioned earlier, can boot successfully through only stock firmwares like V20 F, V20 G and V30. Cannot flash patched roms and neither can I flash old V10 firmware as it results in BOOTLOOP.
:crying:

A lot of people flash a patched V20 and they forget to flash the Superuser and that results in a bootloop. At least it happened to me when I first rooted my OB in ancient times.Maybe this is the case.
P.S.:Got some tacos today?

EXACTLY !!
IT WONT BOOT AFTER FLASHING PATCHED FIRMWARE. STUCK ON LG logo with blinking bottom lights (strange but true).
Tried Rom Converter 2 and 2.1, Injection Method, everything.
Patched V20S, V20O does not work.
also CANNOT boot succesfully throuh a Stock V10 (so that it becomes easy to root).

I have tried all possible methods in the above links. Does NOT work. It wont boot through a patched firmware. Seems like LG has put some sort of a LOCK for the BOOTLOADER. Only STOCK V20G, V20F and V30 work.
There is another member with the same issue. Check this.

Did you start smartflash as admin? Disable anti virus program and firewall maybe?

Hi
This happens if you flash original v30b with smart flash and the only way to go back to GB is flash a patched v20 version....
And it directly first boots into CWM...now dont restart....just flash your backup from your memcard, this will bring your phone back alive....
You can try copy any other zip version in your memory card if u dont have backup....
The problem is original v30 formats the phone in some diff format.....
Flashing it back with CWM...brings it back alive....
If you already flashed patched version then u can try to enter CWM by console...adb reboot recovery......else do as mentioned above....

I have mentioned it previously also. It does not boot into Recovery/CWM after flashing patched firmware using SFT. It gets STUCK on LG logo. Only stock firmwares work.
Recently rooted my phone. Using rom manager tried to install Cyanogenmod 7. Seemed to work but then got stuck on CM7 load screen. Restored my phone using the backup i had saved with Clockworkmod recovery v6.0.1.9 and everything seemed to be fine but it won't boot past the LG screen and im not sure what to do from here

There seems to be a lot of problems with the new 6. recovery. You may want to install an older version which is an option in rom manager. Perhaps v5.0.2.7. Question, fo you only have one rom backed up? If so it may be corrupted. You may have to use the lg updater tool and upgrade to gingerbread to restore if you only have one rom backed up.
Also if I understand your post you installed cm7 and it was stuck on the load screen. Did it ever boot fully? If not on cm you have to do a factory data reset before booting or it will just bootloop.

I did the factory reset and it did fully boot up once briefly but unfortunately the phone ran out of battery and i havent been able to get it past the CM7 logo screen since. While its in the bootloop I can get it to connect to the the LG support tool and start the update process to get it back to Gingerbread but at some point it fails and says it cant connect with the phone. At this point i dont really care what i have to do to get my phone back. I didnt see the option in rom manager to install an older version.
UPDATE:
As i was typing this i retraced the steps and now CM7 is up and running on my phone but so far its unable to connect to the network.

Ok. On the thrill, if you were on gingerbread youll need to flash the cm7 for the p920/o3d. The cm7 rom for the thrill will only get signal for froyo. As for reverting to an older version of cwm recovery, i believe it is an option when you choose in the very top bar of rom manager to flash a recovery. Press that and i think it asks you to choose a recovery, i believe o3d is the choice, than after that the option to pick a recovery should show up. If you do flash an older recovery try your back up and see if it recovers. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot!! All is good now. Glad it was as simple as flashing another rom.
i unlocked my phone bootloader after that i flashed cwm recovery via toolkit but after that my phone just stuck on cwm,i rebooted so manyy time but no luck.i tried diffrent recoveries and kernals but facing same issue.sometime phone shows black screen after reboot.plz i need help.i am from india.
What is the need to state that you are from India?! Anyways, if you're not having any luck, you could always flash an RUU to go completely back to stock and start over. I also highly recommend TWRP over CWM, but that is mostly my own opinion.
