What means the "Process stopper" errors? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Its not the first time that I get something like:
"Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped"
This time it appears right after I flashed CM 4.2.2 rom, then I flashed Gaaps that related to this rom.
Then in first few seconds of using the device I got this error.
1. In general - What could cause this error to appear?
2. I tried again to flash both CM and Gaaps and again an error appeard while using the device.
Any idea?
Thanks

Android 4.2 is pretty new and the CM team hasn't developed stable version yet. So it's a bit buggy.

[Q] Emergency

Hello, i have my Lg optimus 2x P990H for a year now. i was running CM 7.2 stable version last night and I decided to ParanoidAndroid CM10
link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097807
I downloaded the last ParanoidAndroid CM10 ROM with the new boot-loader, i used Lite by KonstaT, the latest one. i used the latest kowalski kernel.
now the phone would start, load but i got a message saying "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" message. i clicked okay and i got "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped". i cannot do nothing after that. i tried remove the battery, hold down power and volume down button but it seems recovery mode do not exist. i don't know what else to do. I can't understand those Nvflash instructions not those'how to flash stock rom" instructions. Im using Windows 7 64bit.
anyone knows how i can get my phone back to work
1st - why 2 same threads?
2nd - cm7.2 is on old bootloader so you better download & flash pa10 for old bl if you didn't change bootloaders prior flashing the new rom...
3rd - already mentioned "all-in-one tool" if everything above fails...
Yhe only prob is u flashed the wrong gapps
If ur flashin cm10 then install cm10 gapps and of ur flashong cm10.1 use cm 10.1 gapps
This will definately solve your prob
U can find the gapps easily in the forum but choose the correct 1 or else it will show the error again
Good luck

[I9001] CM 12.1 - Setup Wizard has stopped Error Message

Hey,
as i got an audio problem with cm 11 release 17 on my I9001, i flashed
[GT-I9001][ROM][ION][5.1.1][LMY48G] CyanogenMod 12.1 by ADC-Team [Release 10/08/2015]
on my device.
Installation works fine and as long as I wipe wipe Dalvic Cache the App optimization completes without problems but then the phone gets stuck with the error message: Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.
No further process from this point on.
I flashed 3 times and always get the same problem.
Any ideas on what to do here?
Ok, problem is solved.
I have to flash the rom only without the gaaps, then reboot once and then flash the gapps.
No problem with the setup wizard now.

GApps issues with CM 13

*First a little background on what happened...
So due to an sight oversight on my side, and what I feel was a mistake on CMs part, I installed CM 13 over 12.1 one day on my droid turbo. I did not realize what was going on until after I had done it, it was just me keeping up with my normal updates. So I realized what had happened and used an older version of CM 12.1 that I had already downloaded and installed it. This rendered my phone unable to boot into an OS. No problem, I still had TWRP. I downloaded the flash able 5.0 stock ROM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/rom-su4tl-44-100-stock-t3320815
I then flashed myself back to stock, did a full wipe, then booted into stock to make sure everything worked correctly and it did. I then downloaded CM 13 and flashed it, and booted into it no problem.
*Now the issue at hand...
I then downloaded the GApps for my system, ARM/6.0/Stock and installed. Now my phone boots but when I unlock it, I get "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped" and "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped". They keep popping up no matter how many times I press "ok" and prevents the use of the phone completely. I'm not sure where where to go from here. Any idea on getting over this? Wrong GApps perhaps?

I haven't flashed this rom for my turbo yet and this may not be the issue but in the past, dealing with other phones on CM, when you would 1st flash the rom, (& before rebooting the 1st time) you would then need to flash the gapps immediately after for everything to work properly. Try flashing the rom and gapps before rebooting.
I didn't see if the CM op instructions recommended this, just personal experiences from previous rom flashing.
I have had this happen twice after installing any CM13 on top of the March 31 nightly. I have not found a way around it yet besides doing a factory wipe after installing CM13, Open GApps and the latest radio code in this thread.

Having some issues installing Gapps on a new phone. I keep getting the error message.

Hi friends. I got the phone today. I unlocked the boot loader, installed TWRP and flashed Cyanogenmod 13 snapshot. No problems with all this.
When I try to install a Gapps package, all I get when I boot it up is the message "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped". If I press OK, the message comes back within half a second. I tried the stock, micro, mini and pico package from Open Gapps all with the same result. The Pure Nexus Dynamic Gapps does the same thing.
I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong here. Help me please

what you're doing wrong is flashing CM..
I kid really, after flashing the gapps, and you get that error, go back and wipe data. OR.. try it this way. before you flash cm, but after downloading the ROM and gapps, wipe system and data. you will not be able to boot after this until you flash your ROM, that's because you wiped your ROM off your phone.
I flashed both CM and gapps at the same time and it worked.
What should I use instead of CM then? I want something that looks like stock but has a bunch of options to tweak the settings. I like battery time

I'm using pure nexus ROM, what you use is purely choice. but I find that I'm much happier with pure nexus than with cm.
