Is there a good syncing dock that will let the Note 2 sit with a TPU case installed? I've seen the ones on Amazon with some mixed reviews, but please let me know of any other ones that may be better, Thanks!

I've had success with this dock. It has a removable insert for docking with a TPU case:

Here is the non HDMI version:

Hey Snapz! Welcome back!
Do you have that cradle and which case does it work with? Here is why I'm asking. The one in your link is KiDiGi hdmi cradle with removable insert. Monoprice started to sell KiDiGi products, obviously re-branded under "monoprice" name, and I just got this cradle in the mail for review - only $30 plus change : http://www.monoprice.com/Product/Index?p_id=10255
I didn't have a chance to test it yet, but a quick look with insert removed showed that I couldn't fit my Note 2 with Case-Mate Tough case. Usually Tough is as thin as tpu. I have to dig through my accessory boxes to see if I still have any tpu case left, but in general it looks like for majority of people who use cases with more protection, they will have to take case off before using this cradle.
I will post a more detailed review of that cradle sometime before the end of the weekend. I also got their re-branded KiDiGi car mount: http://www.monoprice.com/Product/Index?p_id=10259 - only $23, and just from look of it can give iBolt a run for its money But I won't know for sure until I test and review it.

The HDMI unit isn't able to sync on a computer from what I read. The second one looks promising though. Thanks!

Hi All, Thank You for such an informative and helpful forum.
Does anyone know if there is a case available for the Ameo that incorporates a belt clip?
Many Thanks
Tim
Yes there is:
Look at the bottom of the page:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PDair-Leather...ryZ31521QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000092&products_id=5551
Gerald
I bought the PDair case, believing it had a belt clip, but it doesn't.
Did you send any email to the company with the link from ebay that show the case with the belt clip ?
Nope. I doubt that they would care that an ebay seller has mis-described their product.
It would be different if they had said it had a belt clip....
What the hell, it's a nice case. Smells lovely.
Enjoy your new case.
I'm looking for a belt to carry this beast. Any recommendations?
I have searched far and wide and have yet to see a single belt clip case for the Advantage. In fact Proporta seems to have the only after-market case, period, and it does not seem to offer any advantage over the stock case.
There is a dearth of accessories for the Advantage; even HTC seems to be dragging their feet. Will we ever see the promised docking station, for example?

Case with Belt Clip
Can anyone confirm that a case with a belt clip exists for the Ameo/Advantage/U1000?
Many Thanks

After hunting around for 2 weeks for something that looks good and works as a stand and cover here is what i found
The stand came from the Apple IPad section but works great with the Elocity A7. The cover is a Nook magnetic cover that gives you access to all ports.
Please excuse the messy desk and phone pictures!
I used the 3M sticky pads on the back to hold it to the Nook Case.
Nice work. Looks good! I have a elocity case from case kings on the way. Ill update everyone on that!
eLocity case
I am wonder were to buy the case for my A7. I can't seem to find one here in town.
eLocity case
I am wondering were you bought yours at? I can't seem to find it.
Case from Amazon.com
I purchased a leather case from amazon.com that does not work well at al. It comes up as a compatible case but the flaps to hold it in on one side to not completely cover it.
its called Leather Case with Pockets for eBook eReaders
sucks!
I bought the case from Best Buy and the Stand from Frys
Has anyone heard if Elocity /Steam is going to sell any accessory for there products??

Can someone recommend a good car mount for the Streak 7 with an Otterbox commuter case on it? I would love to mount the things behind the steering wheel in my Saturn Ion.
Don't know if this will fit with the Otterbox case, but this one's the generic for the S7 (don't think there's a purpose built one):

I was looking at this. Has anyone used it before with the Dell Streak 7? I'm just worried the tablet will be in my way too much because the arm on that mount looks short.
I've been fond of the SlipGrip car mounts. I currently use one for my Streak 5 with an Otterbox Defender case, and I plan to buy one for my newly acquired Streak 7.
Here's a link to their car mount for the Streak 7 w/Otterbox Commuter case:

Scosche dashDock for tablets looks pretty nice. I just ordered one. I'll report back when I get it. $29.00 + $6.50 for delivery direct from Scosche web site.

I've been looking for a mount that will hold the 7 between the headrests of the front seats... anybody used anything like that so far?

I just got a bluetooth OBDII adapter to use with Torque so now I'm really itching to get a car mount.
I also found this, which looks interesting considering it's only $20 shipped:
Navitech Firm Grip 360 degree Adjustable Mount Cradle
Has anyone picked one of these up?
CAREFUL, that SlipGrip car docks are only the docks, no case is included.

I just got the SlipGrip dock for using with Commuter. It's great quality to be honest. Holds the Streak very tight and offers flexible adjustments.
The suction cup holds very well and tight. It might take you a bit to get the perfect position in the car.
I will snap some photos later today.
Silicone Sleeve on ChargerCity Tablet Vent Mount
for my Streak 7, I have the Silicone Sleeve Gel Skin Cover Case using the ChargerCity Tablet Vent Mount, both from ebay. So far, so good. I find the windshield mounts never works out for me, falls off often

The dock is very well built. Although it took a while to find the perfect spot and adjustment, but once set, it's great.
Oh yes the suction cup does suck well

I have the HDMI docking station and it has a removable sleeve so that the extended battery or a case can be on the phone while docking. Does the standard case have the same capabilty?
I have a cheap ebay TPU case and it fits perfectly in there with the sleeve removed.
Not sure if you meant standard case or standard dock, but yes, the standard dock does have the removable insert for working with a case on the phone. Now all we need is a decent hard case that will actually fit in the docks... I'm not a huge fan of the silicone cases and I didn't have much luck with the incipio or the shell/holster fitting the car dock I'm sure they'll be coming soon enough.

I hate silicon cases also, have you ever tried TPU? Verizon sells one that they call High Gloss Silicon but it is a very firm molded case and nothing like silicon.

It is fit but no connection to charge the phone. I have tried TPU case in car dock and standard dock but both have problems with connection.
I have the shell/holster and I can get it to charge in the standard dock but the dock app will not launch. I usually just pop the shell off and let it charge that way at night. I do have the extended battery but the shell already accommodates that so it doesn't make a difference for the dock.
Side note: The audio output of the standard dock seems to work through the USB of the Bionic, it's not as loud as the headphone jack tho.

I have the shell/holster case also and it does fit and the dock apps do launch. There is a plastic filler that has to be removed in order to make the proper connection. This is a much better design from Moto than on the DX.

LOL! I asked the exact same question in the other Otterbox thread! Guess I'll be able to answer the question myself here in about 4 days...
Great please let us know and take a picture if you can. Cause that would be the deciding factor for me. I wont get it if I cant dock it. DS7 + Dock is great for gaming. Trying to take off the case all the time would suck and not be worth it.

I have the OtterBox case but no docking station. I assume that it plugs into the multi-pin bottom port. The case adds some added thickness around the whole S7 plus a soft rubber bumper which a flap covering the port. The flap opens, hinged on the top or screen side and wraps around the under on the bottom. With the standard OEM cord plugged in, the flap extends past the plug by a good 1/4". Want a picture of cord plugged in?
Did a search for the docking station and found this review page: Docking Station. One of the posts state that they have to remove the OtterBox to dock!

Well that really STINKS! I'm thinking that maybe using the back rest plate for the Streak 5 (it comes with the docking kit) will make it work. That back rest plate is curved to allow for a slightly thicker device to fit into the dock.
If it really can't be made to work then the case will have to go. I won't give up my dock - I like it so much I bought 2 of them....
EDIT: I just dug out the Streak 5 back rest plate and looked it over. It is actually curved the opposite way (compared to what I was thinking) to make it work with a THINNER device - not a thicker one.
Sad to say, but this is NOT looking very promising. I may actually have to make a new back rest plate. The big question will be whether the connector in the docking station will plug far enough into the socket with the case on the unit...
Yea if I have to remove it, then no, I dont need the outterbox. I mean I already hate that I cant dock my zune cause I use the hard case on it (official one) What I wish is if docks made extension cords for it.. Imagine use extension on the dock and you could least get features of dock even if it wasnt sitting in it. That or a block you add on top of the dock to fit with cases.
Anyone know a GOOD decent case that the dock would fit with?
is this the rubber case like the DS5 Otterbox? the one that you had to stretch around, but still held well, or the one that is a complete b*tch to get off once it's on?
I ordered this and got it next day. It's a four piece case. There is a rubber "skin" that goes over the hard shell. It's not the easiest thing to get off, no.
Well, I got my OtterBox today. Nice case - pretty much the ultimate in protection.
BUT unfortunately, there's no way to make it fit into the dock with the case on and since it won't just slip easily out of the case, that's a deal breaker for me.
Unless someone here wants to buy it for what I paid for it I'll be sending it back...
Ok so we know that this doesnt work, sucks, but sadly the dock is a vital thing to have on the counter. Easy to keep in view, hook up to the tv, and works wonders for playing emulators on and easy to see. =)
So we need to figure out which case we can use. Was thinking about a simple cover on it. Rubber maybe ok but I need to find a good one that doesnt "sweat" or make a smell after being on it for ages. Then we need one that fits the dock.
Yeah, I just ordered one of the $5 silicon cases of eBay. We'll see how it works out. I'll keep you posted...
Ordered mine, since I'm not having much luck getting a dock at a decent price figured I might as well since the defender is one of the best case options I've seen for the Streak 7
Yeah, if I didn't have and use the dock I'd definitely keep the OtterBox. I ordered a 2-pack of "military grade film" screen protectors and a silicon skin case from eBay. Combined they were a whopping $10.98
I know its not going to be the same level of protection as the OtterBox, but it should be enough to protect it from day to day knocks, bumps, and bruises. I may also get one of those neoprene slip cases for it...

http://www.all4cellular.com/dell-streak-7-home-audio-video-dock.html 50$ on sale. There are some aftermarket ones too for 25$ but those ONLY charge and sync, no hdmi and so, which honestly, is rather pointless in terms of the streak, since hdmi is nice.

I put a Zagg screen protector on mine.
Got the cheapo skin case the other day. It is just thick enough to keep the Streak from fitting into the docking station.
So I got out a pair of small sharp scissors and enlarged the hole for the bottom connector until it exposed the whole area around the docking connector where it makes contact with the docking station.
That still didn't quite solve the problem. The thickness of the case on the back of the unit where it leans against the clear plexiglass "backstop" moves it forward on the docking station to the point that the connectors don't line up properly.
So the next step was to make a new "backstop" out of thinner plastic. I had an old hotel key card lying around and that worked great. Just the right thickness, and stiffness, yet easy to cut to match the shape of the tabs across the bottom.
Since it is much thinner than the slot in the base I filled in the slot with a little hot glue. That way I can always remove it easily if I choose to since the hot glue doesn't stick that well to hard non-porous surfaces.
