[Q] How to stop updates on rooted stock rom???? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I will really appreciate it if someone can help me to stop the annoying ota updates/notifications on rooted stock rom.

Press and hold on the notification, attempt to deactivate the notification from the "Apps" part of settings.
If that doesn't work, find out what app it is from the long-press "App Info", then download Titanium Backup and freeze that app. Problem gone.

[Q] App Uninstall Issues

Is anyone with a VZW Dev Ed phone having problems with uninstalling apps after installing the 4.4 system images? I was able to flash the images that Motorola posted on their site and get root but now I cannot uninstall apps. Every time I try to uninstall an app (such as root checker) the phone will get to the "Confirm Uninstall" text but will immediately shut off once I hit "OK". The screen goes dark and it takes about 15 seconds before it goes back to the lockscreen, with the app still in the drawer.
I'm wondering if some of my system data got corrupted when I flashed 4.4 because tapping "Security" in settings FCs the entire thing.
-----Edited-----
Reflashed 4.4 and got everything working.

I'm not sure if it's possible like that but if you try to push it some sec on the notification you have information about the application or something like that, select it then choose disable.
Yes, you can, on unrooted device go to Apps > All > Update Center and Clear Cache and Stop the Application. The notification will disappear but when you will Reboot your phone, it will be back and you will have to repeat the process.
or
Install Root Uninstaller, Root needed, and Disable the Application, it will be Frozen. No more notifications.
I use the Xposed module NotifyClean for this very purpose.

It's not possible to simply disable notifications instead disabling all the app in the app settings?
goto
settings/apps/all/update centre
then untick the option to show notifications
no root needed

Maybe because you already have the notification in your notification bar.
Clear data, reboot and try again

You need to force stop BEFORE then you can unstick it and re start it

Is not working, again. I did this 10 times before give up and I do this again to let you see that I already tried.
Wi-Fi on, I reboot my phone, the notification appear on notificatiuon Bar. I go to Apps > All > Update Center and I FORCE STOP, the notification disappear, the option Show Notifications still Hided. Then I clear Data and Cache too, nothing.
To be sure I disable Wi-Fi and reboot, the application running again but no notification (of curse wi-fi off) then I repeat the process, Apps > All > Update center, Force Stop, nothing, the option still hided.
This is what I talking about.
Maybe they changed that on 4.4, sorry I still on 4.3, but to me should not make any difference as the application have his own version.
Well, my update centre is version
2.2.0.A.0.8
Maybe you should update the update centre to that...

Hmm, probably, so I think they update the Update Center on 4.4 where that option is available.

Same here, cannot untick it, it's grayed out, but I just cleared the data in Update Center app, and done. Notification gone, it comes back but after a long while (I've deleted data and it's been two weeks since the notification hasn't appeared) or in the case of a phone restart or if you refresh the app in the app drawer, forcing it to re-check for an update.

That's why on 4.3 with Update Center v2.1.1.A.0.10 is better to Disable the App, but to do that you have to be Rooted and have Root Uninstaller installed.

I don't want to disable the app, because I still want to get notifications about Sony's apps. I just clear data, and let the application still run. And I still don't have root and don't yet feel the need to do it.

[Q] Remove Xperia system update notification?

I'm getting this notification about the system update, and it is persistent.
I've tried checking the box "do not remind me about this update " and restarting several times.
I do not wish to update, in case a root method comes out for the old fw version.
So how do I remove this notification?
Go to Settings>Apps>All>Update Center
And untick show notifications. Hope it works for you

After finding out it's called something else in my language, it worked. Thanks!

For a weary traveler with the same problem this is what I did: I am rooted and installed titanium backup. open titanium backup, search for update and wipe data for update service 1.0 and software update. Then freeze both apps and you will not have any problem with the install file downloading. Hope that helps.
How can I disable the update notification on my Z5 Compact running 5.1, I don't want to go to Marshmallow
and this update at the top has been there for ever
Thanks

If so i'll need to wait until Thursday until my data is renewed, I was hoping on 5.1 there was a setting I could change as this is an old thread

The advice for Titanium is a load of Tosh, never did nothing
Anyone got any other ideas, i've had 2 system updates stuck on the Z5 compact for 2 weeks lol

this worked for me, no root, you have to hide com.sonyericsson.updatecenter
adb shell
pm hide com.sonyericsson.updatecenter
exit
adb reboot
There is no update center in L.
You can close the permanent notification with force stopping Software Update app in Settings/All.

I have a rooted xperia z5 compact and this worked for me!
Try this:
About:1.You can use the Notify Block
2.In the presence of rooting:
2.1. Using the application ® Root Explorer (File Manager), follow the path: system/priv-ap/UpdateCenter/ and delete UpdateCenter.apk
2.2. Using the application ® Titanium Backup remove\freeze "software Update".
The first reply mentions Settings -> Apps -> All, but there is NO "All", so that suggestion does not help.

[Q] Apps can't update or download....

Hello all,
I'm having a bit of an issue where I can't download or update anything from play store or anywhere else really. Things start downloading and then when they near completion and get to about 98%, they get stuck there and eventually give an error that they cant download. It's only happening on my new Lollipop install. I flashed the 23.1.A.0.726 ftf file on an unlocked bootloader and i am running it on Androplus advanced stock kernel v2.
I've not has this issue on a similar version of kitkat that I currently have a back up of on the same phone. \I'm just bouncing between the two when i get some time to try and fault find the lollipop version. Obviously I want to move to the lollipop version permanently but i will only do that when I've sorted out this issue.
I cant seem to find anyone having the same issue. I've tried the following methods but they didn't work....
First.
Quick toggle pull down
Settings
Apps
Swipe left to the "all" catagory
Scroll down till you find "Google Play Store"
Force stop
Clear data
Now try the play store
If that doesn't work
Try
Quick Toggle pull down
Settings
Scroll down to accounts
Tap Google
Tap your account
Tap the settings menu (three dots in the upper right)
Remove Account
Back out to the settings screen
Add Account
Google
Sign in with your Google account
Does anyone have any other possible solutions to this or know what the hell maybe going on?
Thank you!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a look in system apps and both of these are there and unfrozen.
I'm actually trying to run LP 5.0.2: Massive DEBLOATING/23.1.A.0.726 custom FW for Z3C -all working (xposed etc) by moly82. I've tried a full wipe and install via recovery and still i cant get any apps to actually fully download and install. They all get to 99%and then never install for some weird reason.
did you finally solved somehow your problem?
try to flash the latest ROM from moly82 (v4): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/wip-debloat-lp-690-correct-functioning-t3076161

Get back Galaxy Apps after lollipop Upadate!

Update: Samsung has fix the problem in a recent update. So this is no longer needed.
Steps:
• First go to setting apps and Find Samsung Updates or if you added the Essentials widget click on that, then click the recent app button and hold the Samsung Update icon.
•Once on the app info page click force stop then clear data.
•Go to here: apps.samsung.com/mars/mw/apk_en.as?COUNTRY_CODE=USA&CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000279 and download the app.
•Then once downloaded install it and it should install.
Now you can find the app in the app drawer and it is the newest one with lollipop looks and feels!
If the one does not work try the other one like reinstall if you did not hit that one or phone.
