[Q] [I9000B] BLN Control - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, good evening.
I've flashed the last stable version (10.1.3) on my Galaxy S B, but I have one problem with it...
The backlights (back button and menu button) are always getting on (only when have notifications). I know this is called BLN Control.
But, where can I disable it directly from Device Settings or Source Code (i want to learn how CM works. )
I've searched all settings in phone and don't found it.
Can anyone help me, please??
Thank you!

its probably in Settings > System > Notification light

Remove HTC Notification Manager

I apologize if this has been covered already, but I've been searching for a few days now with no luck finding any help.
The HTC Notification Manager, is kind of a PITA, IMHO (apolgies, again, to those who <3 it). I've lost the ability to just tap and access volume control; if I accidentally bump the taskbar, Notification Manager hijacks my screen; and none of the features seem to work for me (I tap and tap and tap and tap/hold, but zilch - just stays on the Notification Manager screen... Grrr!)
But, I can't find any info on how to get rid of the blasted thing.
Would someone pretty please point the way?
I'm so frustrated I'm *this close* to just wiping the memory and reinstalling (which is such a royal hassle!)
My stress level thanks you (in advance).

No problem - download TaskManagerEx , go to services , and disable "HTC Notification manager" , then soft reset

Hey Guys I just found a very cool Solution replacing the Notification Manager, go to this link "http://mbarvian.freehostia.com/2008/10/22/all-extracted-opaljade-applications-cab-and-oem-package-included/" and download This File "http://myunspace.com/?d=83C3DE071" and install, then soft reset then Its finished, the old system status again.... Please note, Disable the HTC notification Manager Before Installing it.

Android 2.2 - possible to have "vibration and sound off" (see description)

Hello,
Formel-LMS gave me a heads up that there's no "Vibration and sound off" option when pressing volume down on the homescreens..
On 2.1 you got "sound (1 to 100)", "vibration only", "silence (no vibration, no sound)"
On 2.2 the last one seems to be missing..
Check the attached screens, last one is missing (its german but you'll see it on the icons..)
Is it possible to add that back? It'd be great to see that in future 2.2 ROMs
And I don't want to use additional apps or widgets ..
I reported this in the Android issue tracker
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8668
Unfortunately, they're probably not going to do anything about it. Would be nice to see the volume 'fixed' in some ROMS like Cyanogen. I guess we'll see when the source is finally released.
Thanks man.. romain guy said they did it this way because users were confused of it.. what the hell? This is a step back.. and I thought FroYo is many steps ahead 2.1
a quick fix is to download Quick Settings from the market. lets you change your ringer to silent and not vibrate.
Yeah.. an additional App to get something what worked before

Since this issue is like a closed issue someone created a new one:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9465
Star it!
Hope this is getting changed in Gingerbread
You probably don't want to hear about another app but... power control plus allows you to set a widget to a total silent mode

[Q] Capacitive button backlight on all the time

I have recently and the first time flashed CM7 (nightly #183) and most things work really well. except I can see the backlights for the buttons are on always, very dim but on, hence a short battery life.
I have since flashed #185 and no difference I can see.
Anyone?
Cheers
That's the backlight notifications, the dimmed setting is actually the most battery friendly.
Go into Menu,Settings, Cyanogenmod settings, Interface, LED notifications. Look under "Unconfigured for the app you want to disable the backlight led notification on and click on it. Click on LED Mode and select "Force LED off" and select save. (You should notice that a Miscellaneous tab appears under the "Unconfigured" tab. Once you configure an app it'll move from the unconfigured tab to the Miscellaneous tab)
Great thanks, that worked a treat
Thanks both
Steve

ICS CM9 Haptic feedback

Hi Guys
So I tried the CM9 rom, and one thing that really annoys me is the haptic feedback when pressing the soft keys and when typing. Is there a way to reduce it(NOT turn it off) like in CM7 ?
For the soft keys,go to settings/sound and untick "vibrate on touch"
and for keyboard haptive feedback, go to settings/language and input, there you have settings for android keybord, click there and untick "vibrate on keypress". I tryed both,it works... Hope i helped
I Didnt want to turn it off .... just reduce as you can in CM7
I think that this option is still without adding
Try looking around in the "Dev Tools" app, it might be there, just like you can reduce the brightness on the touchbuttons!
To lower the vibrations for keyboard-touches you have to go to settings > language & input > Android keyboard settings > advanced settings > keypress vibration duration settings
I know that it says "duration", but a lower duration also lowers the intensity of the vibration.
Haven't found a possibility to lower vibration for the touchkeys... i guess there's an app for that.
I have been looking for the possibility to lower the vibration intensity for the touchkeys too, it's just too high for the moment and i'm even more annoyed using the phone with haptic feedback turned off :S
they have merged the feature in the latest nightlies, you'll find it under the advanced settings

I use a different rom on my Jiayu G4 phone, Android 4.2.1. Which file(s) can I manually edit in the filesystem to change ms duration number? I have root access.

Can you provide a link or apk file for "Dev Tools" app?

MiHome - notification issue

Hello, that is my first topic over here and I would like to ask you for help with the above-mentioned issue with notifications from MiHome app.
For about 3-4 weeks I was fighting with that issue, but now I'm totally out of any ideas.
I gave all the permissions I found for that app:
Settings->Apps->App launch->MiHome manage manually - also the 3 dots on the top right corner again manage manually and checked the 3 ticks as well
Settings->Battery - over here I have no power saving mode enabled. Again checked the App launch from that menu and the result is as above
Settings->Notifications->MiHome - enabled also in DND mode
Settings->Apps->Apps->3dots->Special access->Battery optimization->MiHome->Don't allow
In that way the app is running ok for a few days and then again all the notifications are blocked for unknown reason.
Is there someone could help, as I'm at the edge to get another phone and that is something I don't want to do?
Did you find any solution? I've been without notification for more than a year... (P30) and no hope... I think I will change to Sonoff gateway and sell my Xiaomi devices...
