I have SGS - official f/w 2.1 via KIES.
In UK on an unlocked phone, with Vodafone SIM.
Set alarm (standard clock) ... and it does not work if phone switched off ! .... i.e works OK if phone is switched on ... but not if phone is off, which is normally how I would leave phone overnight.
I amazed, my 14 yr old Nokia does this no problem ! ..... I googled around and on some other Samsung phones you can fix it under profiles ... but can't find a solution for SGS .
This seems a significant bug, or at least an oversight - can't belive anyone would design it to work like this on purpose.
Any work around ?
Even with my SGS turned on, 4 times out of 5 the alarms do not go off. I think the alarms have a bug.
Probably you have a task killer ending the alarm.
the phone must be on for the alarm to function .
the alarm cant switch on the galaxy s , says it in the manual

Happened to me this morning as well alarm comes on but no sound,i called my phone and volume works....
I don't have that issue but i recommend you try another alarm app such as "Alarm clock plus" is a good choice.
Does anyone else have issues with the stock alarm clock on lollipop 5.0.2? I use the stock alarm clock and have an alarm set for 6AM M-F. Some mornings the alarm never triggers. I typically have my phone set to vibrate only and Alarm volume to the lowest setting audible setting. The setting for Alarm in silent mode is checked as well. I've deleted all alarms and re-added and the issue is still present.
I recently just picked up this phone and the phone was OTA updated to the latest 5.0.2. I have already ran the 5.0.2 RUU and it didn't help. Is there a way to roll back to kitkat from Lollipop or am I stuck? Would an RUU to kitkat work? The phone is S-On and relocked.
Any alarm apps that you guys would recommend?

if you are s-on you can't downgrade unless you are s-off
Hi
Mi5 64gb, recently purchased and just upgraded to the miui7 latest update that prevents Android Pay from working ( bah!)5. Everything fine with it apart from the clock alarm in the morning. It wakes me up on time, but does not show the clear/snooze option and I can't turn it off.
My guess is that my "night clock" app is hogging the screen and the alarm snooze screen is indeed "underneath" but not accessible.
Anyone got any tips on how to use a night clock - happy to pay for one - that plays nicely with the system alarms ?
Cheers
I'm having a much worse issue than this my alarm just doesn't go off another forum suggested using the stock charger which worked for one day but not since?
Received the P4XL yesterday and set it up. Put up an alarm in the morning but the phone crashed in the night and no alarm ring in the morning.
the phone Was half alive, App drawer worked but wasnt able to start any apps (only Black or blank screen). After reboot all the missed alarms showed up.
Anyone else noticed something like this?
I've had this happen with my Pixel 3 and other phones.
It doesn't even have to be a crash, it can be as simple as a reboot. It seems that Android's alarm scheduling doesn't kick in until the phone is first unlocked after a restart, so if anything causes your phone to restart overnight, no alarm. I've been late for work more than once because of this.
Samsung phones in particular let you schedule a weekly automatic restart for maintenance purposes; on all my Samsungs I have to make sure to schedule it for a night where I never need to have an alarm go off the next morning.
I have also had bugs with Do Not Disturb blocking alarms even though I set it not to. It's rare, but it happens.
I have been using phones as my alarm clock for years, but it's always a bit of a gamble. So many things can go wrong.
No alarm clock works in android 10 . Alarm doesn't ring until I unlock my phone and the screen is on.
Working on havoc os 3.0 latest build... I'm using
had the same problem, went back to stock
Which ROM you are using? Check status of alarm blocker? if it is on then turn it off. or maybe it is a bug. try using some other alarm apps and see if this issue persist.
