Google experience launcher apk on their HTC first? - HTC First

Has anyone tried the new Google experience launcher apk on their HTC first? My wife has a first and am considering installing it, but I'm more curious how well it works before I go messing with her phone... (She hates it when I mess with her phone. )

Does not work

I tried to install it as well. The lib file you have to replace does not exist. The only thing that worked for me was google now.

I have tried installing the two apks but they refused to install and when I copied them over to /system/apps, set R/W then rebooted, nothing new appeared in the app drawer. I am running an Xperia Ion build.prop for better game compatibility in Google Play, slightly different S3 SoC but both use the Adreno 220 so I've had no issues as far as that goes.
What's the edit for that build.prop.
I've tried also w/same luck, what about time Warner app, either just working n home wifi or any wifi...I've heard there is a f#$ktimewarner apk that helps but cannot find it....or unsure if its real.. I'm n cm9 4.0.3
Thanks

[Q] KFHD App.

Hello. I was wondering if one of you could put your huge brains to work on making an apk run on KFHD7. The app is for a local news station in Portland, Oregon.
GooglePlay link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwyLDEsImNvbS5rcHR2LmFuZHJvaWQud2VhdGhlciJd
It just doesn't work on the KFHD7 yet. Or at least I'm not able to download it from the market. I've tried to find it online, but the links all take me to the market or the 1 or 2 apk's I find don't run. I hope that this app just needs a few tweaks. But I am part noob, so what do I know.
There's no way that I would expect someone to do this. If it's a pain in the rear, then I would forget about it. If the process can be explained easily, then maybe someone could tell me how to do it. If not then, oh well.
Many thanks for even taking the time to read this.
If you have it installed on another android device, go to your Data/app folder and get the .apk yourself.

I tried that too. It didn't work. That's why I figured it would need some tweaks to get it to work on Kindle. It's pretty cool app for what it is.

[Q] ROM that supports copy/paste in all apps

Can anyone recommend a ROM that supports copy/paste in ALL apps? Since my phone is almost 3 years old, a ROM that has good performance would be a plus.
Thanks!!!
if you search google play, 'cut and paste' you will find several apps that do that. no need for rom flash.

Emojs

Ok,so ive searched and searched trying to find out how to use emojis(iphone style)on a stock Jellybean 4.2.2 htc one(not rooted),and all it comes up with in search is ROMS.I have the standard emoji faces, but after the iphone style (buildings, animals, etc).I was using Chompsms, which had a plugin for emoji, but chompsms was using 30% of my battery life a day.Ive downloaded and tried installing a few off the Playstore, but they still dont show up.Can someone suggest something?Am i doing something wrong? This is my first Android phone,so please be gentle.Any advice would be appreciated

There's an emoji keyboard in the play store. It's a piece of crap though and it sucks to have to change keyboards back and forth.

Try Textra with the associated free emoji plug in. It has all the iphone emojis and works fine for me.
I had the chompsms app(also made by Delicous inc),but it was destroying my battery life for some reason.I also had the emoji plug in for chompsms, which would be the same as Textra.I was hoping there would be a setting.somewhere that would enable native Emoji, without rooting or require different roms and/or crappy, half done play store apps

I second TextraSMS. Aside from the native CM10.2 messaging app, it's the best one I found in the Play Store.

Okay speaking of the native CM messaging app, would it work to just grab the messenger.apk and install it as a system app in a stock based rom? Or is that crazy talk?

Anyone tried to use the Google enhanced launcher? From N5?

I have a nexus 5, and love the newer KK launcher. I have my tf701 ordered and shipped but not delivered yet. Just wondering if anybody tried using the launcher?

Looks like it works with other tablets and phones too. It adds a Google now screen if you swipe all the way to the left and makes the bottom bar through. I don't it would hurt anything seeing as it is just an APK. Shouldn't need root or anything like that.

I thought it needed KitKat to work?
I think it will work on anything with jelly bean or newer. I'm not a hundred percent sure though. When I get my tablet in I will install it and give it a try.
Here's another thread about it.

I think a lot of it had to do with the Google Play services that were provided now. If you update completely Google now Google Voice, I think the google it. Launcher installed with just one apk.

I'm still on version 0.9.6.886092 because i can't update the google now launcher, probably because the TF701 doesn't has 4.4 yet. But it works fine =)
Edit: I've tried it again and now I'm running the latest version of the Google now launcher.
