Z1 Processor. Which Processor did you get? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which Processor did you get on your model and country? There are 4 different SD800 and I wonder if Sony uses all the 4 types for different countries. MSM 8074, 8274, 8674 and 8974. :what:
Mine is C6902 (India) and it comes with MSN 8974.

At least the modem in SOC should, but amp maybe not, and also the firmware problem.

8974 T-Mobile Netherlands...

C6902, msm 8974

Don't know the country, C6902 MSM8974

To my knowledge there exists only 4 variants of the Z1, and they are the C6903 (Worldwide LTE), C6902 (Worldwide HSPA+), C6906 (North America LTE), C6943 (Brazil LTE, same as C6903 but has some kind of TV tuner as well), and the SO-01F (Japanese LTE, couldn't manage to find the white paper for this one) and all feature the MSM8974. See for yourselves in the white papers below.
White papers:
C6902
C6903
C6906
C6943
So, unless the SO-01F contains a different SoC then I think we have an answer to the question in this thread.
And if you're wondering whether this means your C6902 can develop LTE capabilities, I very much doubt it. There would be no point in creating a separate assembly line if there weren't any savings to be made in selling a non-LTE-capable version.

C6903 8974, what's the difference by the way?

Network bands. The C6066, which isn't official, is supposed to support network bands in North America for carriers like AT&T and Rogers (specifically the HSPA and LTE bands).

I think c6603 does not support all the hsdpa networks
What about 6303?

Pwnie express

Hey all,
I was just wondering if the Xz would be powerful enough to handle the pwnos that's on the pwnpad, if it is is there away of getting a custom Rom for it?

Nobody can answer my question?

Since pwnOS runs on Nexus 7 - isn't this a question of comparing Nexus 7 and Xperia Z specifications?
Nexus 7 has an old Tegra 3 and Xperia Z has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064.
But since pwnOS isn't ported to Xperia Z the best it'll do is heat your coffee.

Yes, it'll be far more powerful than this OS needs. The problem is - somebody had to port it to XZ and I doubt that'll happen anytime soon.

im not sure that will work and it could cause issues with your phone as there are scripts that the rom makers use for the different models
This is sad, Sony here is more slow yet...

I think T-Mobile and AT&T LTE are the same bands, but I may be wrong.
Do we know whether Z1s has physically less bands or is it just a software lock due to licensing costs?

C6906 will work. Then follow the guide to root and upgrade. Best not to unlock bootloader unless you are very comfortable with it. Some carrier branded models cannot be unlocked but you can still root.
