What's your build number? - Asus Transformer TF701

Hello,
So I bought mine from ncix.ca and it arrived today. It says build number K00C. I would like to know what others is, and if they have any issues with it. I'm comparing to see if they have improved the tab over different batches. Thank you guys! ( And gals )

Actually the model number is K00C,
mine is android 4.2.2, Build number US_epad_10.14.1.47_20131022

What is that number that shows which batch is it? Like a, b, c etc...
Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk

The batch number is in your serial number. It goes by month. It's the first two numbers after the letters. Mine is 07. That obviously would represent July. People with 09 will be September's batch...

K mine is 05, and my tab feels laggy... But then it might be because I have used nexus 10 alot and recently nexus 5. Hopefully jellybean makes it smoother.

Serial numbers, build dates, revisions

Anyone have info on build dates or hardware revisions? My 16gb was 100% fine when got it about 11 days ago, now screen is lifting a little and left side creaks a bit. Touch seems less responsive too. Wondering if any changes have been made to address these issues?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
My build number is JRO03D
Was fine at first, after 11 days started lifting a little and touch response was not as good.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Everyone's build number will be JRO03D, that is the latest android software, including on phones.
I'd be surprised if there were any difference in hardware revisions this soon. A revision would mean a design amendment, and therefore a subtle change in manufacture.
We don't know (with great certainty) if the screen lift issue is poor manufacture of a good design, or a correct manufacture of a bad design.

Official N4 RMA Shipping Status Thread

First, to the mods:
I would first like to make the case for the existence of a separate thread for RMA's. It is now well known that Google has always maintained a separate stock of N4 units that (if I'm not mistaken) also ship out from a separate location, and therefore the entire shipping situation for these is distinctly different/separate from that of all other standard Play Store orders, with posts for which obviously belonging in the main shipping thread. For those of us either posting and/or seeking information regarding only RMA's, it makes it rather difficult and confusing trying to find that particular information in the main thread. That is why I am hoping we can keep this thread, again specifically for RMA shipping and status.
Thanks!
(by the way, fellow N4 RMA folks please feel free to chime in and back me up on this )

Thank you my fellow RMA grunts!
And to add to this from my part, I have an RMA that I put in for my 16gb on 12/13, listed as Pre-order, and at that time I was given a 2-3 week quote, but since all I've heard from everyone else has been 3-5 weeks, I'm now inclined to believe the latter. In my situation, I'm just hoping to have this replacement by the time we go away on vacation on Jan 11th, but I'm not holding out too much hope on that. Then there's the LG warranty option, but because I'm not the "original purchaser" then I can see that process getting rather hairy. I mean did dig up an old slider phone that I could "use" in the meantime if I had to send this in, but right now I'm at a loss.
By the way to give a bit of background, I originally purchased an N4 back on 11/23, but had to send that one back due to screen issues. At the time I just assumed there were no replacements with everything being sold out, so I just went with a straight refund. I then purchased my current phone as an unopened/sealed unit on eBay, but now this one has major earpiece speaker issues. So rather than go through the craziness of sending this one back to the eBay seller, have him get an RMA, etc. etc., I just thought I'd try to change my original Play Store "refund" into a "replacement" (refund for my returned phone hadn't hit yet), since I'd learned that Google had a separate RMA stock. Well of course as well all now know, even the RMA stock is wiped out, so I'm currently 1) sitting on an RMA replacement with Google that is in "pre-order" status, and 2) rocking an N4 (the one from eBay) with a bum speaker. And THAT is my effing N4 story. :victory:

My rma story, which I'm sure y'all have heard before, but for the new comers who will be joining us the story is I ordered the phone on 11/13, received my N4 on the 28th, right out the box the speaker was funky, crackling and popping. It blew two days later, no sound at all and no calls. Called for the rma on the 1st and was told rma stock is different than regular stock and that I would get it in 3-5 days. They finally told me last Thursday that they are out of rma stock and it'll be 3-5 weeks. I'm not taking this lightly as I call periodically, at least once a week, to get some kind of update. I've talked to managers and they all give the same spiel, "I'll escalate it to a shipping specialist". No choice but to wait, although I am contemplating sending it in to LG, would rather fix it myself though. No parts out there. :banghead:

Not sure I would trust the LG folks either. Ugh.
Here's my story. Ordered RMA on Dec 4th thinking I would have it in 3-5 business days. Had to cancel that one and order a new RMA because Google wouldn't let me change my shipping address without making a new order. New order date is Dec 16th.

Yeah and actually, my plan would be (assuming I stuck with the RMA route) to receive the RMA phone, then simply do a swap of the earpiece speaker components (which looks to be quite easy to do) and then just send the RMA unit back to Google as defective. Of course I can only do this because of my unique eBay-phone situation, as described above

Well he told me, take it with a grain of salt, that when they get new orders the computer automatically prints the shipping label. So once you order it can't be changed. How hard is it to print a new shipping label? Seriously, Google.

i had the same problem when i order my replacement it end up being under my old address they wouldn't let me change it, so i end up cancel the order..and went to ebay, got very lucky bought one on Friday for $415 with free shipping witch i think is not a bad deal, i receive it today.so far everything good, no problem at all.. im glad i cancel my order would have to wait 3 weeks
What would really suck is if I don't get it at the new address by Jan 14th I would have to cancel and make yet another new RMA order. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that...

I just bought and returned the Nyko Playpad because it couldn't connect to the Nexus 7. I searched online and it was a known issue since last year. I read in a Nyko tweet that it was due to the JellyBean update and Google is well aware of it, so yeah there could be something to this, since this Nvidia Tegra contoller has been needing a fix since the last update of it's Nyko Playground app last October.
I know while surfing Google currents Engadget and I think android police had the articles.

That build number is fake. Unless it is a typo...because build numbers have always been 3 letters, 2 numbers, 1 letter: IMM76L, JRO03C, JOP40D, etc.

My 15 mos. old rooted HTC DI2 running ICS have no issues with Bluetooth, including Skype (soon to replace MSN Messenger, arrrrhhhh) and Google Voice or GrooVe IP when calling, crystal clear. N7 running 4.1.2 on rooted stock rom & kernel is fine, Bluetooth is fine but "playing" now with 4.2.1 - BT is a P I T A - no matter how I try to tweak it, whether I'm using the Jabra or 1 of the 2 Moto headset.
Benchmark-wise, not that I am chasing for a high Quadrant score as the CPU/device is plentiful fast for my purposes without OC/UV - 4.1.2 has clearly the upper hand, whether it's stock rom & kernel or custom rom/factory kernl or stock rom/custom kernel.
Fortunately, Stickmount is working on 4.1.2 with my choice of roms at the moment, MoDaCo's Jr13 with franco - and, it's a "messy" one with the sdcard directory layout for the recovery whereas with 4.1.2 - everything on it is easily accessible for backup & restoring with CWM.
Just my 2 cents, as a disclaimer - YMMV - of course.
Some rumours here about the Nexus 4 shipping with 4.2.2 http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/google-nexus-4-spotted-running-android-4-2-2-jelly-bean-50010145/ So hopefully its not that far off for the N7.

I doubt it's fake. Asus already has a 7" tablet called Memopad HD7, doubt they'd make another one already plus the software name is unknown but indicates its running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Seems to good to be true. If this turns out to be true, I'll be damned cause I've just bought Nexus 7 3G a month ago
Who cares
Great, a camera I'll never use. Now Firefox will open .014 seconds faster
If you look through the FCC and Bluetooth Standard Records, you'd see Asus having a 7" tablet running 4.3 under the name "Nexus" being released soon. The specs are pretty spot on to what was posted here to what the FCC specs say.
So you have a new Asus 7" tablet with an S4 Pro under the name Nexus passing through FCC under the k009 Model Number, then someone at Asus posting the same details when asked.
This news is a few weeks old btw.
Like I said when I posted the screenshots "take it with a grain of salt" I really don't know why these tech websites are making it a big deal. It was just a conversation I had with Asus and I found it interesting so I posted it.
The representative could be right about everything or he could be wrong we'll know when the device is actually released.
I've just also had a chat with Asus and they said this:
Orville R.Hello xxxxx. How may I help you?
xx Hi I’m interested in buying the Asus k009? Do you know when it would be released to the public?
Orville R.The release date has not yet been determined however, hopefully by the starting of the 4th quarter of the year it maybe available to the public for purchase.

New batches being shipped (build #311k)

So I actually posted this in the RMA thread but it just got lost in all the posts. Plus I can't find it posted anywhere else.
First two phones I had were 310k, both had faults and had to download the patch before using the phone.
My third phone is 311k, no faults and it came with KitKat preinstalled (no patch to download)
To check what build (batch) you have, look on your box where it shows the model #, imei # etc and look for S/N. The first 4 characters = build #.
I'm going to try and keep a log of all the build numbers and see if there are any changes to the phone like with the Nexus 4.
So.. so far:
310k - Need to install KitKat - Seems to have quality issues from my experience
311k - Preinstalled KitKat - Quality control seems better
This is just based off of three phones though. More information is needed.
Mine downloaded the update at first boot, i don't have the box here right now, but i will report the build version tomorrow
Edit:
ye version 310k here too, lets see what the rma one will be, it should be here next week
yep mine says 310k and mine updated when i turned it on.. kitkat was NOT pre installed
When mine came in the mail November 15th it already had the update patched on it straight out of the box so i guess I had the second batch. Mine is 310K
Mines 310k had to update to kit kat
