needed help,
im using Galaxy gear paired with Note 3 (rooted note)
after a week of buying, i realized that
whenever im calling from my Gear, i have to make sure that my Note 3 screen is on.
if my Note 3 screen is on, then the voice call will be using gear speakerphone.
and if during that call my Note 3 screen is of, then the voice will be automatically transferred back to Note headset instantly,
without me touching anything.
so during a call, the voice always changed back and forth between gear and note depending wether my note screen is off or on
is this a bug? or some settings that i dont know?
or maybe a hardware problem that i might need to claim to samsung?
i've tried restarting the Gear, rebooting. uninstall and install the gear manager. unpairing my gear.
can anyone help me?
thx

Hi,
Whenever I answer a call, after 5 seconds, it automatically switches the speaker phone. I turn on the screen and the speakerphone icon is not selected. I have to activate speakerphone then disable it to get it back to the standard headset mode.
I have had this problem since day 1 with the phone. I was one of the lucky few to order on release day in Canada. This occurs on stock 5.0, 5.1 rooted, CM12.1
Is this hardware related or just a software bug?
Thanks

In your case, I'm leaning towards hardware. I haven't heard of this before now. The fact that it happens across multiple ROMs is what leads me to believe it's hardware.
I am thinking it could be the screen protector playing with the sensor. I'll have to dig in some more.
Just got an Urbane...previously had a G Watch, G Watch R and Sony Smartwatch 3 and I am having an issue I have never experienced before. It could be because I am now using a Zenfone 2 as well. What is going on is that whenever I turn my sound off on my phone it will disable my notifications. The only way I can keep my watch notifications active is to at least keep the phone on vibrate. I have never used sound or vibrate on my phone and that is why I like to use a smartwatch. Any ideas or solutions to mute my phone and keep getting notifications on my Urbane? Thanks in advance.

That's android wear functionality in lollipop. If you set priority on the phone it goes to priority on the watch and if you set it on the watch the phone changes to it as well. Nothing can be done about it to my knowledge.
Problem: Sometimes when I am on a normal phone call (Outgoing or Incoming), speakers turns on it's own. If i look at phone, the speaker icon is not "GREEN" (which means it wasn't pressed). I have to press the speaker icon once and nothing happens because at that time the phone starts loud speaker (Which is already turned on) and then i press it again to turn it off and everything is back to normal.
During a single call this can happen multiple times
And I have tried clear cache partition and factory reset from the setting and factory reset from bootloader
Phone model SM-N960F
INTERNATIONAL
DUAL SIM
Android 8.1.0
Samsung experience 9.5
Any one had this problem and solved it ?
It any one who can help ?
please help
same problem here.... help please ... its very anoying
try turning off the smart gestures where when you put the phone to your ear it auto switches, etc... or use a headset or bluetooth
i too had this issue before. when you google this issue, apparently many are experiencing it. what i did was to off the microphone permission for my voice recording app. if you have call recording app or voice recording app, you may wish to see if there is any setting regarding to microphone or speaker.
I use my note 8 for messenger video calls with my son 700km away. internet stable everything goes ok but after couple of second the speaker goes out in regular phone mode. I have to put the phone to my ear as a standard phone call. i stop the videocall and re-establish but after 10 secs to 1 minute, speakerphone goes out and there is no button to switch back to speakerphone. I tried Google Duo but same result so it is a phone problem not app problem. I tried clearing data, clearing cash, reboot, Nothing works. my wife has a S7 and has no problem like that. Please, somebody, HELP
Got a Pixel 6 Pro and a Watch 5 Pro, having problems when the phone rings, I answer and can't hear anyone, until I switch to speaker the back to phone, works fine when the watch is disconnected or Bluetooth off, anyone else have this problem?
Pixel 7 Pro and a Watch 5 Pro. Not had this issue.
Stupid question, have you confirmed on the call screen the phone is selected as the audio device?
