Hello all,
My alarm clock is playing up, ever since I got the phone it would pick and choose when it does and does not want to go off, a couple times its not went off at all, I dont really want to download an app off Google Play because I dont really like packing my phone with loads of apps. Yesterday I woke up to checm the time during the night and then went back to sleep and my alarm never went off, its really annoying, does anyone know of a way to solve this?
I'm on 4.2.2.
EDIT: Also, I have heard about Android 4.4 KitKat, how will I update to this once it is released? Will it just be a OTA update? Thanks for your help to whoever answers

That with the alarm is badass haha
Hmm. What if you set in settings of the alarm clock the option with side buttons and use them?
For the update:
- Sony will give an update via PCC.
- You will find the stock rom here on XDA and you can flash it with flashtool.
- Maybe you will become an OTA update but you will be faster up 2 date if you flash it without waiting for OTA, trust me(You will have to wait weeks after release)
But first comes 4.3 in december

If you want you can try my clock app. But make a Nand Backup before because I don't know what will happen!
Just copy it with a root-browser to (but first unpack it(the apk was to big to upload it so I had to do it like this-.-)^^): system -> apps
View attachment SemcClock.zip
Or
Flash the ROM again.
Or
download en app in play store..
I don't know if you have more options..

I am not rooted, thats why it annoys me so much as i know ive not deleted any neccasary apps, i need to get this sorted as its the only problem with the phone other than that its completely fine! Do you think the phone could just be going into a deep sleep and then not responding to the alarm? Ive tried a factory reset already and it didnt help, ive also not used any task killers or anything :/

Hi all
Ever since downloading the OTA ICS update yesterday, I have found that I am getting a lot of lagging - when switching apps, when opening apps etc.
Any tips on how to optimise performance? I have restarted the phone a number of times, but still no luck
thanks

Thanks will try that, but not sure how I do that?
Also, assuming all my music and pics are on the memory card, and that I have setup the "backup and restore" settings, do I need to back anything else up?
You can do that in the recovery. It's called "wipe/factory reset". Your stuff on the phone will be deleted but your SD card remains untouched.

irfquake, I didn't need to restart the phone many times. It just had to perform some internal tasks and after setting some things up in order to adapt to ICS, as time passed by the phone started to perform better.
Now it shows no lags while opening or switching apps.
I'm not saying that the factory result is a bad option. I'm just saying you might find out that you might not need it at all.

There's an app in the market that can control the volumes of every individual sound based alert. Not sure what the name is. You can google or check the play store
Hi all
I listen music a lot on my Z, always with headphones.
I have a weird problem: after about 25 minutes of listening, the equalizer stop acting, I have to unplug and replug the headphones to get it work back. Sometimes I don't unplug it, just put the music on Pause and click again about 1 minute later to have the equalizer back!
Anyone had this problem?
I on Monx Honamix, locked BL.
Thanks
I managed to time the length of the equalizer function, it's exactly 30 minutes.
I must have an hidden setting in my equalizer. Really weird!

like said in the OP, I run Monx Honamix (and very happy with it, BTW)
then it means you have root
so change the walkman apk and equalizer apk
you can get it from any custom rom
use root explorer to do it first delite the original one and past the new one
it will be located in /system/app

no change... really strange
Does it also stop if you stay in the walkman app?
You could try to lock it in memory with an app like ' pimp my Rom' to make sure it doesn't get kicked out of the ram.

Nothing there. :/ I was considering reflashing the stock ROM anyway. I guess now is a good time.
Never mind I don't want to do that. Haha. I'll keep looking for a solution.
Wanam Xposed was unable to fix the issue also.
I'm not sure which I'm more frustrated with; The fact that I accidentally removed the key assignment or that the ability to do so is even allowed in the stock rom without a way to change it back.

Do you happen to have greenify installed? That was the only time i have had that option come up as a default. Furthermore, when i monitor the default applications list, setting the action to nothing makes greenify come up. If this is the case then go ahead and click the clear button next to greenify in the default applications listing, should work, next time you longpress you should be able to set it to google now, you can also go in the menu of greenify and press "Reset pull-up gesture".

With the way Huawei forces their "power saving" down our throats you are likely not getting all of your notifications for things like news apps and social media apps etc. I like their idea on trying to find ways to consume less battery, but man they are aggressive on the way they do it. Here is a fix that should work on all Huawei branded phones.
Step 1: First go to settings, advanced settings, battery manager and then to protected apps. Look for the app that you want to receive notifications from and then select "protect it".
Step 2: Go to settings, apps, advanced, ignore battery optimizations, then find the app and ignore it. This sounds kind of weird when you select ignore the app, but actually this means to allow it to run....... basically you are telling battery optimization function to ignore that particular app. Also known as "Doze"
Step 3: Go to settings, notifications panel & status bar, notification center, then find the app, then activate "allow notifications" and also "priority display". You must select priority or you won't get the notifications.
Works perfect for me. I spent countless hours trying to figure out why I didn't get notifications from my news apps and it drove me crazy. BTW....I have not experienced any battery drain at all.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO HIT MY THANKS BUTTON!!!
Solution already brought up on the 4th of July!

Hi, I have to say that Step 3 is not convincing.
Enabling priority display allow notification to appear during "do not disturb" mode. I don't want to be woke up during the night.

That is correct, but if you don't set priority you won't get the notification . Been there and done that ready. You can try not setting priority and see if works different for you, but when I turn off priority for the app I do not get the notification.
Please let me know if yours works differently as I am interested.

If you are right, then Huawei software developer must be brainless. For god sake, why on the earth getting a simple notification is so freaking complicated??
I'll try to set priority notifications, but even if it works it's not a solution for me.
I'll let you know man.
Thank you.
This one is working for sure, i found this solution out myself.
Push notifcations
To make push notifications work again create a widget (provided with the app) and place it on your home screen.
The widget will keep the services alive, even when you close the app in the taskmanager.
Make sure you toggle them on in the protected apps menu and put the powerplan on performance mode.
This works for all apps that came with the option to create a widget for it.

This sure would have been nice to have had this info prior to my 2 days of trial & error to get things working. As I do not receive or read all news outlets in regards to this phone, as is the case with many others, this was my sole purpose of my posting it here for others. In July I wasn't even considering this phone....actually I didn't even know this phone existed then. Another reason for my posting the info here. Luckily we have this forum as a go to place.

Deleting it does not solve 100% of the problem!

My guess would be a Gremlin in the system, it happens on all mobiles. Either that or when you changed mobiles you used your old mobile to copy from or the cloud in which case sometimes things do go wrong.
I was told years ago to always start a fresh with each new mobile. I don't I use Samsung sync but there is ALWAYS some sort of minor **** up and its never perfect. :crying:
Like I wrote sometimes its just down to an odd behaviour...Gremlins as I call it.
I hope you got it sorted?
