wow that looks sick!

I had roms installed on my Motoactv, but to be honest it's just not that useful to run full android on a watch... Was interesting for about an hour until I saw the battery wouldn't last long. Also, without wifi (which the motoactv has), it won't be that great since you'll still need your phone.

I wonder since the gear is based on samsung architecture have the develpoers of the CF-autoroot tried to root the gear.

I think the one thing you never forget to take with you on any occasion is your phone so I cant see the problem .its not to replace a phone its to acompany it

i could not find any other thread on this so this is my question:
Is there a way to change the gears wristband?
it would be nice to do that if it was sold as a replacement accessory and one could do that easily!

Nope not possible. There are wires running through it for the camera and speaker...

Yes unfortunately it cannot be changed.

Yes wires on the camera side but shouldn't be on the other side correct? I'm actually still using a watch extender haven't tried to see what was on the other side yet.

samsung galaxy gear + note III

so i have the null 10.1 what is the latest null available and what are the capabilities? i am new to this and i have downloaded so many things just trying to see what this watch is all about? i think i have understood that i cant' use the wifi on the watch unless its tethered..is that correct? do i need to tether it in order for it to do other things.. i just really wanna know what all at this point is the watch capable of doing with the right downloads? just looking to be able to check my emails...connect to wifi from gear not phone only..download facebook and be able to view it on watch and respond..play some of the games that the gear will allow u to with right downloads that is mainly it..TIA

It will be very very hard to use Wi-Fi no Wi-Fi with the Gear...

Notisync

I found this app though a bunch of searching. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattprecious.notisync)
I think it is close to getting us to seeing notifications from any app on the gear. So, far with things set up the way I have them it only vibrates/rings when I get something. It could be that I don't have hangouts installed on my watch (didn't want the google apps...didn't see a need).
Could someone with the google apps (and possibly the status bar installed via Aroma) test this out and see if it gets us further?
Only other thread I could find: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560308 It mentions battery life issues. I'll test these out tomorrow.

Overnight the watch went down to 87% battery. I may try again tonight without it justvto see.

I can choose to get notifications on my gear from all of my phone apps without this.
Am I not understanding something with this thread?

I think I'm a bit lost here too. I can get notifications from any app on my phone without this app.

I wouldn't say badly. I'm able to spend an entire day at Disneyland (about 16 hours) getting/checking notifications using this and still have enough battery power for the 1 1/2 hour ride home. Sure you would get better battery life without it - but you would also get no notifications (non-touchwiz) without it too.

We most likely have to wait for Sammy to get out a version that matches that hardware. Word on the street is its coming .

That would be great, but I would expect them to wait several months at least to port it to the Galaxy Gear, just so they can help ramp up Gear 2 sales. Many might not switch if they did it too early.

Is tizen playing nicely with anything other than touchwiz?
