Anyone have any ideas of why this is happening? I can flash other roms.. tried flashing HD revolution both in GPE and sense edition and both works. The phone is s-off, supercid
Have worked before, but it has been in for service, and got it back today.. and now this dosn't work.. HEEEELP

Error flashing a Kernel

I am trying to flash the RCMIX 2.2 kernel on my IncS, but I always get the following errors:
Code:
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/RCMIX_VIVO_2.2_OC_1.6_TUN_CIFS_2WCR_EXT4.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
can anyone help? Do I need to convert my partitions to EXT4?
EDIT: I figured out the original boot.img had to be rooted prior to flashing the kernel... But now my phone becomes unresponsive... Would I need to deodex the operating system so it can successfully rewrite the apks?
Sorry if this sounds sstupid but do u have s-off?

Hi! You need to flash 4EXT Recovery before flashing this kernel! I ran into this situation and this method worked for me, I hope it works for you too. )
Flash the latest EXT4 Recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104765
After it should work!

Really? OMG I'll try that tomorrow! (Went back to Cyanogenmod since you can't overclock the stock kernel very well, so I have to re-root the Bell Mobile RUU) I will give you thanks if it works.

Boot loop after flashing recovery

Hi there
I tried to get a recovery on my phone with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030777 app.
I pressed the first option ( so Install recovery), then it said something like "flashing succesfull" , so I tried to boot into recovery.
That didn´t work, though, I only got into the preinstalled android recovery, not TWRP.
So I tried to reboot my phone, but ended up in a boot loop...
Any ideas how to solve that?
Thanks in advance,
Metlca

Don't use TWRP. CWM is 100x better and actually works - plus you will find it far easier to get support on here.

FFS - Learn to SEARCH before asking questions that have been covered 50+ times already.
Flash the newest cwm recovery and search next time it's a known problem and is well discussed.

[Q] Phone not regonized as LT25i

Hello, i installed Revelation HD with DooMKernel and had that on my phone for like half a year.
I then thought i wanted to update to KitKat and tried installing Pacman (pac_tsubasa-nightly-20140313), when i install i get this error:
This package is for "LT25i, tsubasa" devices; this is a "mint".
I then thought it was a problem with the Kernel and i upgraded to the kernel NK(nk140-tsubasa).
I got the same error again.
I have also tried with different roms:
LOVINS-Z1-4.4.2-tsubasa_14.3.A.1.347
LS-KK-v3.0-2014-03-02-tsubasa
But i get the same errors on both of them, and sometimes i get this error instead:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "LT25i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "LT25i" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "tsubasa" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "tsubasa".
To solve this problem, manually extract "boot.img" from your ROM's zip file. Flash Pac kernel with fastboot. Then reboot and install your ROM.
Hope I helped you

I have this exact same problem. However, I'm unable to find a place to download Pac kernel. Also, what do I do after I extract the boot.img from the ROM zip?
Best regards
Kaiseen
Flash the kernel you have extracted from ROM zip with fastboot.

Your phone does have fast boot, every phones has it.
you just start up adb and fastboot and run this command:
fastboot flash boot "path/file.img"
And then it installs.
The way you get into fastboot mode is to hold volume up while you insert the the USB cable in the computer, and your phone has to be turned off before you do this.

[Q] error executing updater binary in zip when installing CM11

Dear HTC One users,
I have Rooted and S-OFFed HTC J One (japan verion of HTC One)
Recently i have tried to install new CM11 ROM, but I am getting error below with different recoveries.
Code:
error executing updater binary in zip
Code:
this package is for m7wlj devices this is dlx
I have tried CWM and TWRP. I have also tried other CM11 verisions
Can anyone please help with troubleshooting these errors? It seems like the package is checking if it is being installed on a correct device, and fails to pass the check for some reason. Maybe there is a way to disable this?
I have also tried to sideload via adb sideload, but I am getting exactly same errors.
Thank you

Have you tried installing on latest TWRP or CWM like TWRP 2.7.1.1?
Helo,
Thanks for reply. Yes I have tried TWRP 2.7.1.1 - same error unfortunately....
maybe no matter which recovery i use, it thinks my device is not m7wlj and thus refuses to install.
Anyone with similar problem?
