Gear Screed went bad! - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Woke up this morning and while removing my gear from the cradle I noticed that there were interlacing horizontal lines that went dead on the screen. So I loaded an official firmware and will be sending to Amazon for a refund.

I/O 2012 N7 now hard shutting down (crashing)

I got my Nexus 7 at I/O this year and I've been happily using it for nearly a month now. I don't know if my device differs in any way from one you can get form google play other than the white back.
Last night I was plugged into my wall charger at around 14% battery and playing SongPop with my girlfriend when my screen just shut off. It was like when you hold the power button on a laptop and BOOM, everything is black. It wouldn't turn back on so I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Got a charging screen so I let it set for a bit.
I came back maybe 15 minutes later and I was at 9% battery, which was odd given I plugged into the wall at 14%. I played with the phone for maybe 30s after boot and it happened again, I saw some weird artifacts on the black screen as it quickly shut off and the speakers played an awful crackly screeching noise. Plugged it in again, came back a bit later, still at 9% and played with the device again, same issue only after a little more time.
I'm currently at work with my N7 plugged into my Galaxy Tab 10.1 charger and charging it from 0 to 16% currently. The device is on but I haven't been touching it (and I don't plan to until it's at 100%).
Has anyone else had this issue?
I cant tell if it's some way I'm touching the device that's causing it to shut down hard, some issue with the battery or charging that is causing a rapid battery drop or even a short in the way I'm holding it when it's plugged into the charger?
I don't really want to deal with ASUS warranty returns already, though I have been unable to find anyone else with the same issue through google, so I turn to you for advice and similar stories.
Mine did the same thing the second day I had it. Now it won't boot. I'm waiting for Google to send me a new one.

Mine did something similar last night. It was at about 6% battery charge and all of a sudden the screen just went black. I went and plugged it in, but it wouldn't power on completely (the screen was on but there was nothing there). I started seeing really thin, small green lines running down the screen. I turned it off and on a couple of times, and finally it booted up. I left it plugged in for awhile, and I just took it out at work to use a bit and everything seems perfectly fine. I wonder if there are some firmware issues with the power management or something. I was all set to put in a return with Google, but it appears to be okay. I'll keep a close eye on it for the next couple of days (I've only had it for a week).

After leaving mine off and charging at work to 100% it seems to be working fine. I used it all last night with no issues. I haven't tried wiggling around the usb cable yet in the port to see if that caused any issues.
Firmware issues sounds about right, some sort of low battery safety feature or something? Who knows. I'll update this thread if I continue to experience problems. I'm already past my ability to return to Google so I'm in no rush to warranty to Asus and lose a development tablet.

Charging Problems

So out of the box, this was fine. But while downloading its update, it suddenly crapped out on me. I assumed it was battery life, so I set it up to charge. I came back a while later, and it was overheating. So I unplugged it.
I can get it to start to turn on for a brief second, but then it stops. So I plugged it back in to have it charge, and the battery charge icon keeps flashing, but I can't get it to boot up all the way. Any idea what's going on?
What was happening when you tried to charge it? Just nothing? The charging icon keeps flashing on mine, and it's getting really hot, but it's not turning on. sigh.
I'm having the same problem. I was using it and then it shut off while downloading the update. It never came back on. Google is sending a replacement. I'm so disappointed.
Mine I received and it was just plain dead.
Been it the charger hours, no sign of life at all.
They are sending me another ... disappointed as well.
wow, looks like I have same problem, just received, gear live was downloading and all over sudden stopped, I am not able to reboot anymore, reacts on nothing, disappointed since will be such a hassle living in the netherlands...
Did you buy it, or is from Google I/O? What was the current version of Android Wear, and update to which version? I am asking because I ordered mine a Gear Live and I am scared about these problems. I hope that is a problem with first devices and that I have not spent 220$ for nothing...

Gear live not charging
I'm having the same issue. I got a replacement watch but unfortunately same issue. I'm trying to give it back and I' switch for a LG R. Not the same design but I know it works

Galaxy Gear PermaBricked?

I have an original Galaxy Gear, model V700 as always. A few months ago I had rooted it and flashed _nullrom to it. I grew bored of it and the battery life sucked worse than stock firmware so I reset the entire watch. Everything went back to normal, but maybe a month and a half ago I had offered it to a family member as a Fitbit replacement. They declined, so I just put it in a drawer and it eventually died.
Fast forward a month and a half later and I end up getting a Galaxy Note 5. I remembered I had my Gear, so I tried turning it on: No success.
I tried using the crappy 3rd party cradle I had gotten when I had bought it used: No success.
Tried at least 15 different power bricks/mUSB cords: No success.
Finally, a few days ago, I ordered the original charging cradle. Plugged it in. Still no success. I got a few half second flashes on the screen of the battery with the spinning watchhand on it, and I rarely get that, but so far no luck. I'm sure it charges as the watch and the case get warm, it just doesn't want to power up. It's not the screen as it flashed a few times. I unplugged and replugged the battery when I first took it out again. Any ideas guys? Don't wanna waste 250-300 on a newer Gear when I have a perfectly (un)usable watch right here...
This (half a second flashes) was the exact symptom I was having. Fixed by replacing the battery, see:

Gear now fully operational, charged, everything working. Not difficult if you have some repair skills and tools.

Unresponsive LGWS..

I just received a w281 from Taiwan (I'm in the UK). I put it on charge, the display read 28% so I powered it on while charging. It booted, entered setup, paired with my android phone and showed the default watch face. Now I only glanced at the display but I'm pretty sure I saw 1% displayed which I assume was the battery level. It then said shutting down and I've not been able to reboot it since. I've tried pressing the crown for 10s, nothing. First boot to shutdown was less than 10mins. The watch gets warm when on the charger so I guess the charger works.
Anyone have any ideas?
Ed
Charge first at 100% and keep on charger 30min after reached 100%. After you can see if you have a problem or not
Thanks but I'm not seeing a charging display at all, the screen is off, no response to button presses and it gets slightly warm on the charger. Other than the 10s crown press is there any other method for a hard reset?
I've ordered a replacement charger from Amazon, will see if that's the issue. Coincidentally a reviewer of the Amazon charger mentioned receiving a faulty charger with his new watch a couple of weeks ago, hopefully I've got the same issue....:fingers-crossed:
Fixed! So the problem was the charger. It is either completely faulty or not compatible with UK voltage (though it should be...)
FYI I bought the 'Aresh' replacement charger from Amazon UK for £11.99. If you're buying a W281 from Taiwan for use in the UK you might want to be aware of this

Help: Note 9 suddenly died

I pre-ordered the note and received it on Aug 22. But it is dead today. I full charged it this morning and then went to airport. When I seated in the plane, I noticed there was about 90% battery. Then started to play a game of 2048, a small and simple game, about 30-45 minutes. Then the screen was frozen and went completely black with no sign of life. Try to reboot with different ways, but no luck. Off the plane, try to contact Samsung customer service, but wasn't able to get connected. Any one has any idea what happened to the phone?
How to remove all the contents inside the phone given its current condition?
Thank you in advance.

Is it charging if you connect cable?
Try booting into safe mode or boot to recovery mode n see if it boots in.
Try to contact Samsung customer service first to get warranty before doing any fix by yourself.
