Hello again XDA!
Firstly i understand that there have been many posts like this one (a seemingly common problem) but none of them have experienced the computer specific problems that i am experiencing,
My phone- HTC ONE, Rooted, cyanogen mod, 3 months old.
The other night i was drinking with some friends and i let my htc one die completely. My phone had, recently, been behaving strangely with regards to charging, as in not charging/taking hours to do so. After my phone died it refused to turn on again. Pure blankness.
I have tried various methods suggested here and around the net from various volume and power combinations to proximity sensor tricks. None of which have worked.
Adb does not detect my phone when connected. Normally at this stage i would give up and set about getting a replacement however something has deterred me. Whenever i plug my phone into my macbook or windows xp machine a message saying that 'USB devices have been disabled as one is drawing too much power' pops up.
This gives me hope as it proves that my htc one is still drawing juice and therefore not a complete paperweight! Anyway guys any help is appreciated as i am a college student on break and being at home is really hard without being able to keep in touch with my friends. I will, at this stage, try anything. Thanks!
I dont quite understand your problem. Its normal that the phone stays.black for the first minutes on the charger when it's completely discharged. Try leaving it at the charger for half an hour and check back then

The phone has now been charging for three days nonstop.
NOW I unterstand your problem A destroyed USB connector is no option? (PC is basically recognizing the device). Maybe the battery is just broken? I hardly doubt that a non charging device can be a software bug. But I'm just guessing at this point, maybe someone knows more :/

As the title says, my HTC Vivid won't turn on, charge or anything. The orange light that says it's charging doesn't turn on, buttons don't vibrate or anything. It shouldn't be bricked because I haven't done anything to brick it. I was using Xbox Smartglass on it, I locked the phone and went back to my game, about 15 minutes later I tried to unlock it and it did nothing. The battery shouldn't have been dead because I charged it the night before. Any suggestions or help please?

LOL The reason I got a Vivid is because he gave it to me. Sadly, I was hoping there would be a technical solution instead of trying a new battery. I've got one ordered though. :/
Some have bad batteries.
Mine started doing the same thing. For a while I thought the battery life on Vivid was horrible compared to the Aria I had at the time. Then it progressed and one day finally quit completely and would not take a charge from any charger I had. So, being a techhead I decided to probe the battery with a multimeter and it showed very little voltage, so low I guess the charger wouldn't even recognize or try to charge it.
So what I did was take a battery charger I had for a walkie talkie radio and touched the leads to the battery for 3-5 seconds or so, put battery back in phone and it would then charge. I did this a few times until I could get to ATT store and the guy ordered a new one through warranty. Haven't had a problem with the Vivid since.
Same Problem
Last night I pulled my battery at 21% after shutting the phone off to clear the memory. I put the battery back in and put it on the charger, I tried to turn the phone on and nothing. It is not showing that it is charging. I have four batteries for this phone and none of them will turn on the phone. I am at a loss here. The phone was working fine until i shut it down and removed the battery. Any ideas on what is causing this or any way to force it to turn on.

That sounds like a royal pain.
Could it be the changer or its USB cable? Work some contact cleaner into the power button?
I'm having this same issue. I'm not sure if it's the battery, since the phone boots to bootloader just fine. But the battery won't charge when the phone is off (red light comes on for a second, then quits) and I can't get past the HTC screen booting to ROM or recovery. Where is a good place to buy a battery?
Even if the power button was bad the phone should still charge a battery. I have a charger that will charge the batteries without the phone so I know the batteries are charged. I have several different chargers and none of them will show the phone charging. I even tried connecting it to my computer. The phone is dead, I guess I am going to have to crack it open and see if anything has come loose inside. I really like this phone and am going to hate loosing it. I paid a lot for this phone. That shinny penny I paid to get this phone was my favorite.
Have you tried plugging the phone USB into a desktop and using that to try rebooting the phone into bootloader or recovery?
Hasoon2000's Vivid All-In-One Toolkit in the dev section can do that pretty simply. i used an earlier version of that to unlock the phone a year and a half ago.
i don't remember if the phone has to have debugging turned on for the desktop to feed it commands.
Even if this works i dunno whatall it'll prove.
i like this phone too a lot, and am sorry yours seem to be having hardware problems.

That sounds like you lost your boot image... try flashing a new one that you know works... and if it won't charge with power off... sounds like you have CWM installed... switch to twrp...

The phone does not turn on at all so getting to the bootloader is impossible. It does nothing. Does not even charge a battery. .

That's the definition of a bricked phone, was what i meant. No screen, no led, no button function, no sign of life, and from no explicable cause.
Android phones don't have real on-off switches that directly disconnects the phone from power. Its failure to manifest signs of life doesn't absolutely indicate irreversible hardware failure. There's a bit of a chance it's firmware.
Aside from the power button, Android phones can be controlled thru the USB port.
I took your advise and plugged the phone into the computer and left it over night. This morning I rebooted the computer and the phone screen lit up. I got all excited and tried to use adb to reboot into bootloader, Of course the phone was not found. I took the phone off the cord and the screen shut off. I pushed the power button and the screen lit up. Let go of the power button and the screen goes off. I tried another usb cord and now the screen no longer lites up. Maybe there is hope for this phone.
If the screen lights up like that... there is power to it...
Sounds like you have dirt in your power button... or the button isn't making contact...
Time to disassemble and check the power button...

Yeah, that part where the phone was seen by the desktop, and then not, can have something to do with the Windows drivers. Most of the folks on these forums know what's with this stuff better than me; i usually have to tell windows to stop the hardware, disconnect and reconnect the phone USB and start the connection up again, every time before i do one set of commands, like put the phone into bootloader and download a kernel image into it.
There's a Vivid unbricking project over in the dev subforum, you must've seen that. Whether or not you get your phone working again, i hope it'll be a productive journey for you.
i was perfectly happy just messing with apps until i bricked my tablet; that got me into all this device unlocking and rom burning and fun stuff. It's too bad the Vivid isn't simpler to hack.
my phone cant boot to desktop after i flash the kanel
my phone cant boot to desktop after i flash the kanel please can you help me
9 times out of 10, if the phone will not turn on at all it is the battery. For some reason, the Vivid will occasionally stop seeing the battery. I have fixed this on mine when that happened by using an external charger. That worked because my battery was actually OK, the Vivid just wouldn't charge it or even see it. Once it was charged it was fine. If your battery really is dead (sounds like it might be the case), get a new battery. There is a 2000 mHr battery on Amazon that is not too much worse than the original (when new).
I had the same issue once, it turns out that I fixed it using a external charger
Hi Today I'm here to try to solve a problem that started yesterday in the morning when my cell phone began to restart optimus black and later he was not calling when I called him he flashes the LG boot screen like a flasher when I connect the charger it alloy usually already checked the battery and reinstalled the whole system with the ROMs cyanogem Nemesis and V30 is useless without connecting it remains so with the battery in my concept I think it's the battery that bad anymore esteje this phone has 5 months I bought and would wonder if anyone has gone through this problem and how to solve it or I have to change the battery will also make sure this is not happening in the short cell then I open it and check. thanks for the help
Please, try to reformule your question. Which ROM do you use? Cause in CM10 and 10.1, selfrebooting is known issue, i think.
Or maybe your phone is overheating. Did you overclocked it?
There are many factors to consider.
Cheers.

already tested it with several roms to call and see if he does not turn flashes and erasing the name on the LG boot screen only turns on when I connect the charger leave it there when I turn off loading and shooting the charger takes about 10 seconds and shuts down again and when I connect the charger it notifies you that the battery is at 0%
Maybe HW issue...

Sir, i am sorry, but i realy dont understand you...
Did you tried leave the charger plugged in longer? Maybe your battery is bad.
But i still dont know what is the issue. The phone is turning off itself?
If you tried with several roms, and still the issue remains, it can be HW issue.
But that is all what i can tell you.
I did not understand either. I suggest you to write with your original language and the translated one both in one post, so that someone that understand your native language could answer properly.

Odd.
Have you tried a different battery?
I'm seeing that all works well as long as it's plugged-in. You remove the battery and get about 10 seconds or so. Is that right?
Batteries go bad, and sometimes are counterfeit as well. They are cheap enough, so purchasing a new one is a relatively inexpensive test. Otherwise, something might be wrong internally with the hardware.

First find out if it is a software or hardware problem. Turn the phone off and then plug in the charger. If it starts charging up then it's a software problem. Otherwise, try cleaning out the usb port.

Also maybe buy a spare USB board on ebay. Cheap and very easy to replace. I have one in stock in case it breaks down.
Mine also acted weird on every charger/cable, so do what XxPixX says and if that doesn't work just put it aside untill you have another pcb board.

Hi Daniel,
You didn't specify what your symptoms are. There are three common issues with charging:
Cable / Adapter issues
Charging indicator on but battery not charging
Battery is empty and cannot be charged
In the first case, there is no charging indicator. When connecting to a PC, the PC doesn't recognize the phone. Or it will cycle between connection/charging and disconnected. This may be because of the USB cable (easy to check: try a different cable). Another option is that the adapter itself is physically damaged. For some reason this is common with n7000. The remedy in this case is to replace the adapter.
If the charging indicator is on but not charging, try shutting down the phone and then connect the phone to a wall charger. Wait a little while to see that the battery is recharging (quick click on the power button to see charging indicator). This happens occasionally (in other Galaxy models too). If this is the case, try reseting the phone to factory setting and don't install any apps for a while. Operate the phone to see if the problem is solved before installing your apps one by one.
If the battery is fully drained, it may not charge back. You will need to manually charge it a little to get it started, then charge normally. This is done by connecting exposed wires directly to the connectors of the phone and battery and booting the phone. There are instructions elsewhere on the net. Don't try this if you don't have some electronic skills!
It is also possible that the battery is ending its life. But that would normally manifest in a long charge - quick discharge cycle. Easy to replace the battery and test.
If all else fails, try telling your phone that you are about to replace it with a new model. I don't know why but sometimes it works.
Good luck!

Thanks man!
I have a problem with my xperia phone where when I connect it to its charger the red light will turn on and stay on but the actual phone its self will not turn on. I believe this has to do with water damage. Yesterday I tried using my, "waterproof", phone to take underwater photos and 120fps videos. I kept it under for maybe 35 seconds at the most. I took it out of the pool to look at the videos and it was working fine. When I went in next to take one picture I took it out and the screen was really dark so I went inside and the screen was working and phone was vibrating but screen was blank. I held down the volume up and power button to turn it off. When I went to turn it on again the sony logo flashed and the screen was bright again for less than half a second and then got really dark and the sony logo became very hard to see and then it turned off. I went inside and opened the flaps to check for leaks but there was no sign of any water at all. I left the phone overnight with the flaps open and when I plugged it in the next morning (today) the red light turned on. After leaving it for maybe an hour I could still not turn the phone on and there were not even any vibrations. Is there anything to do to save this phone? I LOVED this phone and its never let me down and my only backup phone at the moment is an iPhone 4 which I hate already after a just a few hours.
Please help me.
Thanks
The water can go through the backside maybe there are a leak.
I would turn the heating to full up and put the phone with open flaps on it.
Then wait 1-2 days and don't forget to put between phone and heating a paper then wait.
After 1-2 days you can try to start your phone.
A other solution (only for advanced user)
is disassemble your phone and looking on the indicator inside.

I'm sorry but I couldn't quite understand that could you try re-wording it?
Turn your heater up and put your phone on it.
Wait 2 days and then try to turn your phone on.
Maybe is your backside not waterproof.
You can try to dissemble your phone and looking for the indicators.
You understand?

Hey guys,
Been using my G Watch since it came out, almost daily.
A couple of days ago, after placing it on the charger over night (as usual), in the morning the screen was blank.
I tapping, and holding the button, but nothing shows up on the screen.
When holding the button, I can feel the vibrations. I can also see it in fastboot.
Is there anything I can do in fastboot to it? A reset command?
I have exactly the same issue... Did you find a solution?
Gesendet von meinem p8000 mit Tapatalk
I think the update caused the issue because mine crapped out after the update.
Yes, I've noticed after the recent update my watch shuts off exactly 1 minute on the cradle. I noticed this yesterday when my watch wouldn't power on, so I thought it just needed to be charged. I let it charge all night powered the watch before going to work and noticed the battery was low, I placed in back in the charger and cradle and came back to it after work and realized that some how the watch isn't even charging. This definitely started happening to my watch after the update.
I am also stuck with the same issue. The watch only vibrates and the heart sensor blinks once when the watch seemingly boots, I guess. I also disassemble the watch and everything inside looked fine and crisp. The battery also seemed to be good physically. Also tried to run the watch via cradle with the battery removed, to no avail. Fastboot does recognize and gives some alphanumeric device, but adb does not show any devices attached. Also looking for a solution.
I am also facing this issue.. anyone found the fix please?
