Gt i9000 Problem with Camera (especially video)

Hi everyone...
i have this rom : cm-9-20120611-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd
Camera have some problem.
Sometimes Camera doesn't work (not so often).
ALWAYS Video Camera doesn't work!
Any solution?

which rom did you use previously. did you follow the instructions as stated on the CM9 Nightlies thread.
I'm thinking this is caused by some installation problems, Try reflashing the ROM and see if it helps(with wipes if required).

Can you play videos and stream with youtube? do you have a bigmem kernel?

Photo works perfect.
Video start to rec but the image force close....
My friend (with the same device) has the rom of 06.04 and work everytingh. can i flash my rom (06.15) with older one? just "update" from CWM?

Camera work 1 of 10 times.
Now i install the lastest rom, 0717.. nothing changed.. camera crash again or do black screen...
any ideas to solve it????

U r having a camera hardware issue
i had the same problem on my htc Nexus one camera works 1/10times
then i removed my camera n cleans its metal pins n fixed it back..
n now its work 100/100 times
just try to clean ur camera once n c
this must a caused by fone getting dropped on the floor ...
dont forget to press THANKS Button

Galaxy S [CM9 - NightlyBuild 0715]

Hello everyone,
I have installed CM9 - Nightly0715 on GT-i9000 recently and I'm facing some small issues but for me, a bit annoying. Maybe you could help me to resolve it !
1/ Can we switch off the sound of camera when we take photos ? If no, nevermind.
2/ The front camera isn't working with Tango, I got a black screen.. Is it a known problem ? Any tips for resolving it ? Or a fix is coming soon ?

With a root explorer you can delete the ogg file
You can find it here /system/media/audio/ui/
Mine is named camera_click.ogg but the name can be different depending to the ROM

Still need help with the Front Camera

Why don't you flash it to the latest CM9 version (RC2 as of now) and try testing it there?

I am encoutering the problem, that my calendar sync wont work.
I already installed the "old" g-apps fixer, but it didnt help.
Any ideas?

Sorry, problem solved...
First time flashing ICS to your Galaxy S (or coming from another ROM)?
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
WIPE again or Calendar Sync will not work.
i forgot the WIPE again...

Is your front camera working on the stock Camera app? I don't actually have tried Tango, but you can test it by installing other app that uses front camera to see whether its a ROM issue or an App issue.

For me it is working.

Make a back up of your rom then try it, if it fails you can install your backed up rom :good:

How I can flash it because before I have to delete camera apps in the system but there is not any camera app in the system apps folder.

LG G2(Jishnu's Camera) for CM's based roms WORKS on our O4X!

YES. IT REALLY WORKS. Even HDR mode worked properly. Now if someone could mod the apk for 720p and 8mp camera(shows 13mp as the highest, not that there will be any differences).

give it a try. i haven't used stock android for ages

me i use it sometimes zaiben when i board cm10.1 and so and now i am stock

i tried the cm version on cm10.1 and it ays camera has stop working

buggy on slim 4.3.1, lots of options make camera crash. can anyone test it on stock or stock-based rom? if possible, it'd be nice if someone could test both versions

gave me a bootloop on stock ROM so i guess it either would work on CM ROMs or not at all .

Try to delete our stock camera app first, then install

It gives you bootloop because the package you flashed for stock conatains hw libs from optimus G.
And not working no cm 4.2.2 based MIUI.

Report if you install flashing it and not moving it to system/app
For CM ROM they have this version only and working fine:

Copy to system/app
Set the permissions to 655

Probably miui frameworks conflict with the camera app ,cause i see the loading screen ,but then FC altough stock 4X cam works on MIUI ,weird.

I am running latest Zaiben Rom. Here's my experience:
Deleted CameraApp.apk
Flashed the zip file via recovery
Wiped dalvik & cache
Fixed permission
Reboot system
Result:stuck at "Android is updating" screen
Disconnected battery and start phone at bootloop.
One more time wipe and fix permissions
Again stuck at android is updating.
So zip is obviously not working..

Here you have stock g2 camera ported.
Some stuff don't work as it should someone with free time should mod it.
Just install as normal app

Video capture failed to Save
As said before front camera gives blue screen And for me video capture fails to save the file.I am using CM 11.0-20140110.

CM11 solved only the video saving, in new nigthly video works, this Bug was not a camera port problem it was a CM11 and all old Roms.
