Did you check the MD5? It's possible the rom didn't download correctly. the MD5 ensures that it matches with the file online.
Try re-downloading and flashing. You can push the rom using TWRP, or flash the previous ROM and start again.
It should work. ViperOne does seem to have Sprint support...

I have never done this before. I had one of my friends root and unlock my phone for me. I have a htc vivid. He installed the holics 1.3 version for me and he is in a different country now so I can ask him. My wifi wont work. he sent me a link for a kernel but it says that the installation is aborted. the name of the kernel is:
0816holics-kernel-for-son(pc).zip
but this wont work.
can someone please tell me what to do to start my wifi again?
Are you S- On or S- Off? If you're s- On you have to flash the boot img before flashing the rom. That will fix wifi. If I'm no mistaken you should have a boot img saved in your ad card folder.
You also have to do this via fastboot. Also when you flash the rom you must select the S-On option, if you did you'll find the boot img you must flash in your phones sd or internal storage.

You have to unzip "0816holics-kernel-for-son(pc).zip" and the boot.img is inside
HTC VIVID 4.0.4 SENSE 4.1
Actually that won't work, his phone will boot, but he will still have problems with wifi cuz the rom generates the boot.img acoording to the selections made in the aroma installer so he has to flash the rom and then get the boot.img and flash the rom again. Try using WCX recovery its easier and it let's you flash the boot.img from recovery instead of doing it via fastboot.
HTC Pushed an update to my HTC One Dev Ed tonight..
1.29.1540.16
When it tries to flash the update it just goes into TWRP recovery. No other actions.
I then drilled down to the directory that it downloaded to /data/media/downloads and tried to flash with TWRP.. no dice.
Here is the update.. but honestly I don't know what it does.
any Idea on what is preventing the flash?

It only work on stock recovery, not on any custom recovery like TWRP or CMW.

You must go back to stock recovery in order for the update to successfully flash on your device.
You don't need the update from HTC, just go and flash the latest revolution 10.2 rom, it is running 4.2.2 and it has some nice performance tweaks. And it isn't modified so it's running sense 5.

How to do you go back to a stock recovery? Been down that road and it still didn't update.

For some of us, going to a different ROM is not a viable choice, and frankly a solution to load a different ROM does not answer the original question.
Hi I have the same problem here.
When I try to install stock 4.2.2, the phone reboot & automatically enter TWRP & thus stock update was unable to run.

None of the HTC direct updates will work while TWRP is installed.
you will have to
Fastboot flash (stock recovery .img)
then the updated from HTC works with no problems. pst if you can't find the img

boy, i don't know at this point, you may have borked the radio, i would try to ruu, get back to stock and start all over.keep in mind if you run an RUU you have to relock the bootloader to do so. then you can unlock again and go from there.install recovery etc/

Also, I suggest using the revone s-off method from the revolutionary team. It allows you to flash ROMs more easily without flashing the boot.img separately. The link to the thread on how is in my web signature.

ok so here is an update- i went back to stock, re unlocked via htc dev, installed clockwork custom recovery, used viberboys link to put SU on there, got s-off with moonshine, able to boot. i flash the rom on there and it wont boot plus it breaks my custom recovery and i have to reflash it.
Try TWRP

i have tried all of this with both recoveries. I just tried cleanrom and it boots into safemode only with no signal. this is so frustrating...
What rom are you trying to install? The losing signal after reboot I've experienced but that's from trying to install intl

Hi,I"m at my wits end at this stage.I've rooted my phone and it says tampered and unlocked. But when I try to flash CM11 in TWRP I alway"s get a failed message.I noticed during flashing it states no MD 5 file found! I've tried TWRP 2.7.1 and 2.8.5.0 versions. When I use TWRP using the external SD card I get the failed msg. I've even tried flashing by USB OTG but it fails to even start flashing by this method . Any help much appreciated.

If you read the post you'll find that cm11 is very faulty.
the problem its not TWRP but the cm11 you download. Make sure its the correct version for mini 2 and from a secure source.
Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.I downloaded the ONLY Snapshot version available for the HTC one mini 2 from the official Cyanogenmod site! Thanks...

There is no Philz recovery for the One mini 2......See if you have the latest version available for our device(See the TWRP thread)
Also try a nightly if you are not able to flash the snapshot version
TWRP Thread [for Mini2]: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/orig-development/recovery-twp-2-7-1-0-one-mini-2-t2801370
I quite like the Sense UI so I'm not CMing this device...yet.
I have installed the team win recovery project on my s3 mini 18200n, and forgot to back up my stock rom. I then wiped, and flashed a zip, as said to do in the guide. When I try to flash a new rom, it states that it has failed, and that "Skipping md5 check : no md5 file found" and then states of how the zip signature failed. I am genuinely stuck, and if anyone could help me, I would be forever grateful

I tried to flash a few different roms, all which where variants of the stock, but deodexed or customised. I tried philz recovery at first, but for some reason i thought that didn't work, so I installed teamwin. Thank you so much for helping, I have been so worried!
