Firs off let me say thanks for the quick response
Yes I can get into both of those modes but when I try to flash it freezes' what I did
Wrong was not doing the new debugging method since I did the update to mk7
My debug option under gear info is gonna but I saw I video on how to do it but that was
After I got stuck at this point will your method get me out of this jam

Are you sure twrp installed on your gear?

I have forced my gear into this mode issue before, no worries you can restore your gear.
Reboot your gear, Once it is on the " ( firmware upgrade encounter an issue please select recovery mode in kies and try again }"
connect it to your computer, the open odin and reflash your mk7 firmware.
This will get you back to stock firmware.
Note: Info was available here in my Tutorial.
(Note 2: Null_ roms are not flashed using odin)

Guys thanks for the replies no I'm not sure if it loaded the trw but I am
Sure that it took the mk7 update I was trying to load the trw when it got stuck
I am trying to flash it back but it is taking forever its been running since 9pm last night
Will this work even if its not in debug mode is there a way to force it into debug mode

might be time for the typical Odin troubleshooting:
try a new computer
try a new microUSB cable

guys i have tried flashing the mk7 back no good i hope its not dead i don't know what else to do it starts running and gets stuck on the system part

you guys are awesome it worked i had to use odin 307 instead of 309 thanks again guys you guys rock

If anyone can help - I am totally new to rooting, and my Galaxy Gear is bricked. It won't boot past the "Samsung Galaxy Gear" logo - and It says "No OS Installed in recover mode. I can boot into Recovery, and Download.
Please assist me into installing an OS.
I had tried installing the custom ROM I tried before (but wanted to remove because it wasn't allowing data connections on the gear) but i need to allow USB debug - but Obviously I cannot access this.
Please help if anyone can!
Thanks in advance!

Just flash stock rom via odin

Garbled Screen When trying to get into recovery mode.
I've update my Gear to Tizen then tried to get back to stock state to install null_
I've followed this instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2776157
Did not work (process completed but unbootable).
Then tried installing TRWP
http://liliputing.com/2013/11/twrp-custom-recovery-samsung-galaxy-gear-smartwatch.html
Not I have it unbootable. ( it's stuck at Samsung logo, like the one from stock V1 android firmware )
When I tried to get into recovery I get a garbled screen like the one attached. Unresponsive device.
Ideas?

are you stuck in the firmware encountered an error message ? If yes, does Odin still identify your watch when you plug it in ?? I ended up with the firmware error screen when attempting to upgrade to Tizen without following the correct order of items to flash.
If Odin can read your watch, you can probably reset the watch. If you plug it in, and Odin does not show it as active - try another usb slot on your computer.
I had to "start" Odin three times before it finally started to flash my watch again.

@bill_in_mtl: OK. I'll try this out when I get home from work. Thanks for this in advance. =)

I faced that too. Then odin could not recognise the gear. So only way was to restart laptop and change USB port. Then flash NE9. Then flash OA2.
However after that you might face gear manager connect issues.

[Q] (Q) Galaxy tab P1000L wont turn on

O my problem is i was trying to flash OVERCOME Icarus and following the guide on the overcome site i downloaded the stock v5 file unziped and started the included odin in download mode selected the files as instructed set repartition and pressed start. After couple minutes odin gave me a green PASS and rebooted my phone but it wont turn on soft keys are on but screen is of. If i press the power button the keys turn of. Conecting it to power outlet (original included charger) turn on soft keys after a few secs but no battery icon displayed.
After about 30 mins in this state i tried plugging it to my pc (windows 7x64Ultimate) and windows made the sound that it detected something but i cud not check what hardware it detected and odin did not detect device.
Is this a SOFT-Brick or a HARD-Brick and how can i correct my problem if possible
Edit: ok when i plugg it in windows Device manager shows SAMSUNG Android USB Modem, and SAMSUNG Android composite adb interface. Also if i start kies it tries to connect but after a while gives me a device not responding to resolve this issue reboot the device. Odin still does not detect it
Edit2: Ok tried going tru command prompt adb with adb devices command and it gives me a device conected in recovery mode i guess the is still hope still if some1 can help ill apreciate it

Recovery mode shows following errore:cant mount /dev/bñock/mmcblk0p2 (invalid Argument)
E:install_aplication_for_customer: cant mount DATA:
Good news looks like a software brik bad news=a really bad software brik any help will b thanked and apreciated
i think you need to flash your firmware " http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/auth/login?why=pw&try=1&wp=1&next=WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm" download it from this link ans flash it with PIT FILE
Finally
Ok Im a very happy tab owner now dont really know what worked but i tried the rom from samfirmware and the same so i retraced my steps got overcome in there again managed to get the sexy voice withoout screen went back to samfirmware at this point the error changet to cant mount dev sdcard or something like that so i went back to my own rotobackup and was back on last error.
I was almost thinking of sending it for repair when (and i dont know why i did) in the factory recovery menu i pressed home on the wipe cache option i got android with sign so i get desperate and press home dunno how many times and sudenly the cache was wiped i did the same on factory reset and after that my tab booted into my operator rotobackup(rooted ofc).
Guess I will stick to froyo for now and thanks for the help

So... same problem here.... My tab p1000l bricked and then when i finally got the answear the battery got drained... so... if i understand it correctly if it was not a hard brick i can charge already if i plug it for at least 4 hours to charge?

[Q] [I9001] SGS+ bricked/broken

Hey guys,
I own a SGS+ and tried to flash a ROM a few month ago.
Not sure which one it was in particular but it was a 4.1.2 ROM.
Normally it worked pretty well but that time it broke my phone apparently.
So now a few month later I tried to get it to work again.
My phone stucks at the splashscreen, easy said.
It boots till the splash screen and then it's on for about 3-4 minutes I guess and then the screen turns off.
But apparently it still runs because if I try to start it again over the power button it doesn't work.
I have to remove the battery, insert it again and then I can use the power button.
I tried several things and I'm out of information here.
So maybe one of you guys can help me out here?
Thanks for reading!
Try wiping cache an dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't help do a full wipe and install a new rom. If it still doesn't work, flash a stock rom via odin. Also, which recovery are you using?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
Already did everything you mentioned, multiple times.
Well I used at first CWM 6.0.1.2 then switched to 6.0.2.8, then 6.0.3.2, then 6.0.3.6 and then TWRP 2.4.0.0 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
I tried those who should be for the bricked phones.
Try to flash a new kernel, then flash a new ROM. You should be able to get into download mode...

That's not the problem.
I can get into download mode, I could get into download mode all the time.
I don't think you got my problem right:
My phone stucks at the splash screen.
Doesn't turn off only screen turns off but the phone is still running.
I can only reboot if I take the battery out.
So it boots up to the splashscreen and stucks.
I flashed a few new roms and nothing worked.
If you can get into download mode, try flahing a stock rom via odin.

Download BroodRom(Not ics or jb just the old GB edition) it's a lifesaver.
1.Go to recovery.
2.Format EVERYTHING(data, cache, dalvik AND system.)
3.Download mode
4.Flash broodrom with Odin.
That should work!

Maybe you didn't flash appropriate ROM for your device. Read this thread, especially the first post by our forum mate xsensman and try to check if it could be concerning also your device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890667
Even through I know how to flash, I tried the two links from the guys above and tried them.
Again nothing happened either.
Flashing was okay, everything was fine.
Unfortunately the phone still stucks in splashscreen.
No one else knows what I could do?

Mate, something is strange there. With splashscreen you mean bootloop, right? So you see the logo, but the phone doesn't really loads the Android?
OK, here we go: please remove the battery and write down your serial No and google a bit is it really i9001? There are about 20 different types of SGS so just to make sure which model do you have.
That bootloop can happen for several reasons, but I would assume that in your case it happens either for:
bootloader isn't working properly
you haven't flashed the proper ROM for your device.
I suspect very strongly the bootloader, so re-flashing the bootloader via Odin, theoretically, should revive your phone. Just check (as written above) do you REALLY have i9001, (as otherwise -if not- you could brick it with the bootloader for i9001):
First post, "5. Follow the instruction" (all files there)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32144697
I'm 100% sure that I have a real i9001, not a special edition or something like that.
And I flashed before it got broken a few month and the roms worked just fine.
Well but then it broke somehow.
I just see that my phone with the CWM-Recovery can't format /data and hangs.
Can't do anything unless I remove the battery and boot up again.
Could this be a hint for you guys?

I have no idea what may that be, but are you sure your phone is bricked?
Have you tried to use normal TWRP 2.6 instead of that one for bricked phones?
I don't know, but maybe this helps:
Guide: How to Recover from a bootloop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660596
@tetakpatak: Yes, I did it like the post "suggested".
@3L4CK_5C0RP10N: No, I'm actually not sure, that's why I wrote "bricked/broken".
I'm not the best guy at those things as you can guess.
No, I didn't tried the normal one, gonna try it now, atleast it's worth trying.
I read the post you linked me here and tried those things, unfortunately nothing happened.
Even tried it with ADB, also no solution found there.
But thanks already for the work guys!
suggest you try the following:-
1) power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and entering CWM recovery
2) In CWM recovery, enter Mounts and Storage and Format every partition, that can be formatted, repeat it twice ( You will lose all your data ) meaning you will be trying to get a clean environment for a fresh start. Do not reboot but pull out battery, press power for a few seconds and insert battery.
If you need your data, in mounts and storage, enter usb storage, here with usb connected to PC you can copy your entiere internal SDcard to PC, for salvage later.
3) get into Download mode, to flash the oldest i9000 Stock ROM 2.3.3 with AriesVe.ops using Odin 4.43 ( with ops ticked) How to flash follow this

[Q] N7000 bricked?

Hello, peeps!
So I was when starting an application, my phone doesn't respond. Tried the power button and it didn't work so I removed the battery and placed it back in.
Here's when my nightmare starts. My phone is stuck at the "GT-N7000" screen, and I cannot proceed further. I'm unable to start Recovery Mode (Vol Up + Power + Home), and only Download Mode works.
However, I tried flashing stock roms, Odin showed no progress even after almost 2 hours.
What seems to be the issue? Is it a hard brick?
Questions should be in the Q&A section.
Is odin able to detect the phone.. ( the port square in odin turns yellow/blue?).
check if there are any Kies processes running in the task manager.. kill them, restart odin and restart phone in download mode and try again.

stuck at the NAND Write part, and the progress bar shows no progress at all (the green bar thing). Could this mean hard brick?
do you have warranty? If yes, take it to Samsung and tell them to rectify it. If no warranty then, you will need to get into recovery may be by flashing a kernel using odin.

Wow...thank you for such quick replies!!
Nope, no longer in warranty..Can I have a link to the kernel file?
Thank you so much!
Before you go about this.. try a reboot PC, reboot download mode phone. try a original USB cable and main USB port of pc and flash again,
If above still stops at NAND
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
look for a tar.md5 file which is odin flashable. If you remember the build number of you phone, then pick that else get any JB kernel and flash using odin. check if odin gives a pass.

Sorry for double posting, here's the screenshot..
you dont need to select it everywhere... just the PDA ONLY.
1. download http://d-h.st/FVh.. this is a PIT file.. select it in the PIT partition. Check it and also repartition.
2. select the kernel file in the PDA..
3. press start... (you will need to reboot into download mode every time to start flashing. so remove the battery.. reboot into download mode.. (vol down+home+power)... after you get the screen volume up to continue.. once the screen shows DOWNLOADING, then connect to pc .. open odin
Thanks again!
How long does it normally take for the entire process to complete? The progress bar of "Set Partition" isn't moving at all
There seems to be some issue with the USB Port or Cable or PC.. you need to check ...a full flash of rom takes about 5-10 mins.
use only the back usb port, don't use the front or extension usb ports, they often throw up problems.. good luck
elprix and
I tried everything suggested, but the progress bar doesn't even move
What are the symptoms of hard brick btw?
EDIT : I tried with Odin3 V3.09, and it is stated Re-Partition failed.
EDIT2 : Tried multiple files, progress bar not moving at all.
It don't write to NAND. But it still is able to set partition. Have you tried a different pc? Uninstall Kies completely and then again install Samsung usb drivers.

Hi everyone!
I experience a similar problem as the original poster! Yesterday my phone was fine, but then it rebooted and got stuck. Now I can only get in to "Download mode". There it says:
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-N7000
Custom binary download: No
Current binary: Samsung Official
I've had it running Paranoid Android successfully for months and then this happened! So where do I go from here,,,? I have Odin downloaded, drivers installed, so what should I try to flash and in what order?
I would be thankful for any help - feel a bit handicapped without a phone!

Make sure that you have right clicked and unblocked both odin 3.09 and do the same for the mk7 firmware.
Reboot your galaxy gear watch,
Flash the MK7 in Odin.
Thank you for your assistance helped
I have uploaded MK7 and watch works
I have one question that room from the list is Tizen? and if I can upload it on MK7?

What do you mean by right clicking and unblocking Odin? I tried right clicking on my windows 8 pc and I don't see anything about unblocking. I tried running as admin and checked file permissions, which were all in check.
I believe when he said right click, he means to right click the odin icon, and select "run as administrator"
as for unblocking, I think he meant to make sure the "auto reboot" and "repartitioning" is unchecked.
Thank you. I think my issue is that I cannot get my pc to recognize the gear. I know that it has worked before, because I used this same pc to root and install roms on the same gear watch.
Edit: I got it figured out. I was trying to upgrade to Tizen. Wouldn't work. Flashed back to MK7.

I've tried so many Tizen firmware downloads, and haven't had any success.
I'm going to keep on trying though
Will keep you guys updated.
Similar issue, haven't found a solution.
My watch is stuck on a screen saying
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Can't get it into recovery or download mode.
If I hold the power button, it just flashes off quickly, then straight back into that screen.
If I try to flash something in Odin, the device does "connect" or show up in Odin, but gets stuck on the Setup Connection stage.
Any ideas??

When your Gear displays "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again", it's already in download mode.
An emergency-recovery-sort-of, download mode.
Just flash matching version rom, depending on what you were trying to do.
If it was android or null_rom, reflash android.
if it was android and you wanted to upgrade it to Tizen, flash the very first version of tizen (NE9), not the newer NF1.
NE9 allow to upgrade Android to Tizen, NF1 just allow to update Tizen to newer Tizen, and bricks Gear if trying to upgrade from Android.

To update you can use Gear Manager on your smartphone, it will download the 2 or 3 MB update package, and send it to the Gear.

[Q] re-post: gt-s5830 stuck at bootloop

Hi, I am reposting here because I posted in the wrong section. If any action is required by me to have a better troubleshooting, ask please!
Hi, after one year using CM7, I decided to go back to stock rom on my galaxy ace. After flashing with odin, I keep getting stuck on a bootloop. I tried wiping cache and doing a factory reset but the problem persists. I tried unbranded stock as well as wind and vodafone, but the phone keep bootlooping. I also tried again with CM7 but the phone doesn't boot again. Please help, I believe the phone is ok but I don't know how to get out from this situation. I read several forums and all of them suggest to factory reset it, but this procedure seems to not be effective on my phone. How can I solve it?
I'd like to provide more detail in order to give a more complete description but I'm not able to know which error messages are given by the phone...I just see the samsung logo. I'm quite a newbie but I have a lot of experience with computers and electronic devices, so if anyone can point me the way, I can easily learn how to do...

thank you for answering. anyway I already did these steps for the whole last weekend. I tried no-brand stock rom, branded (wind) and various versions of android (2.3.3, 2.3.6, ...) of course I have countlessly factory reset the phone but the result is always the same: samsung logo loading and reloading till the end of humanity.....
any other option?
I forgot to mention that I've followed this guide: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-in...mware-on-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-using-odin/
I found many smilar others on the web but the procedure is the same. Download .tar.md5 from sammobile and then flash with odin 4.38 using cooper_v1.0.ops
....but the phone keeps bootlooping.....
......time for my phone to be launched into the trash bin?

Hi, if you can access in recovery mode, do a wipe cache/dalvik cache/factory reset;
flash another ROM for S5830 model, for example S5 reincarnation;
later flash with odin the stock rom,
wipe cache and do a factory reset again;

Hi, i have the exact same problem with my coworkers Ace gt-s5839i !
His Ace crashed in normal use and was stuck in a bootloop after the crash.
I looked up the internet and tried the factory reset/wipe without success.
Then i tried flashing several firmwares for the 5839i and even 5830i fw´s with odin v1.87 and 3.10 (took me 2 days to figure out that you need to split the fw files with odinatrix for flashing... ).
But still everytime it either freezes in a black screen after the samsung loading screen (after the model logo followed by the branding/animated Samsung logo) or shuts off and starts over the bootloop.
Is there a chance that this error is hardware-sided ? I wiped everything countless times but it doesnt change anything. What else could i try ?
I would love to get some suggestions that could do the trick !
Sorry for hijacking this thread but it fits perfect to my problem

Hello
Well Actually if u can clear the EFS of your phone and the eMMc, it would work normally.
#Flash a Custom Recovery using Odin
#CWM much better. Go to Advanced and clear the efs and emmc there.
#Normally flash the Stock Rom using Odin or Heimdall

the version of CWM you have flashed for your cooper doesnt seem to clear the Emmc and Efs etc.
If your device doesnt boot up to Download Mode then Force boot it using Heimdall Rescutor and flash the stock rom using the same tool or Odin.
In odin tick the option of NAND ERASE ALL.
Still doesnt work give me a ring on +918715031141
Hit THAAANKS button plx
