I'm with bell Canada and they're pathetic when it comes to android updates. Official bell Xperia.Z version is still 4.1.2. So I went.ahead andnloaded the journalist version of 4.3 and.quite.happy with it so far. Battery life is good and.it's.very smooth.
Bit I get.no update of any apps in update centre since. Mycelium and.Walkman are.still in version 7 whereas version 8 is already out.
Why am I not getting any update notification?

You have no excuse for not using search button being with Xda for this while.
Its been told many times that no one knows how Sony deliver updates and no point of opening new threads for asking this type of questions.

I tried the check for update option on my phone yesterday without joy but then connected via Kies at it was there.
It might be because I got my handset before official uk launch and was therefore imported from Europe?
i hate the way that the uk always seems to get everything last
as for OP, just checkecd kies again, nothing
Still nothing on wifi or kies, UK sucks, we give so much to many countries n always get everything last, so annoying

Any news yet on uk roll out? Anyone had it yet

isnt it only Germany that has it so far?
I can tell you when this update will arrive. I'm going to be out of the country next week, I bet the update lands just after I walk through airport security and can't update until I get back. Either that or when I fly out again in July. I just have a jinx for things like this.

Pathetic!

No update here either but is it really make a difference? I hope it stops my rebooting issue but apart from that we wont notice anything lol

Ironic that there are developing and commercially marginal nations (Nepal???) that are getting Samsung love before the UK, France, Sweden, Ireland etc...
Makes me feel so valuable as a customer.
I know the feeling, another thing that is annoying is they are already talking about jelly bean and a galaxy note 2 which has a possible release date for autumn, sort of takes the Mickey a bit ay

The way global rollouts work is that they often release the software to nations with very few of the devices and see if there is a significant spike in errors/bugs/repairs and then roll it out to nations with larger numbers of device users
them avoiding the uk is a blessing because: do you want to do a firmware update to a firmware that can brick your phone?
just wait until the bugs have been ironed out and then we will get it
id much rather wait an extra month and have a decent rom than flash a half-baked rom and then go through all the hassle of getting my device repaired!
and anyway, if your so desperate to go ics - grow a pair and flash it yourself
I have a German Note (imported from amazon.de) and got the ICS update through Kies as soon as it was released.
First impression - I really didn't know what all the fuss was about.
Second impression - What is it with all these wakelocks and battery drains?
Third impression - Maybe it's a little smoother when running properly, but not chalk and cheese in performance.
I'm sticking with ICS, because it's working for me and I can't be bothered to fiddle-ass about, but I wouldn't lose sleep over any delays, especially if it means getting a better product and less fracking about trying to get the damn thing to run smoothly.
Fair points there, just makes ya wonder why they are already talking about the next update and next phone when they haven't perfected this one yet, PS I would flash roms but I had a galaxy s 1 and it's so hit and miss finding a ROM that a suits the operator

Hi guys,
long time lurker, finally posting after having acquired the beautiful One.
I seem to have a amistake though as I got it from Three (first time customer) and it seems that I will be waiting quite some time for the updates: 1.29 now, Android 4.2.2 and KLP...
I know I could root and install any other ROM but I want ot avoid going down that route aas much as possible.
I am pretty happy with Sense 5 for now.
So that leads me tot hte following question:
Can I "install" the official Sim free ROM on my 3 branded phone?
What I want is a phone which is not rooted and gets as timely updates as possible from HTC (I'm aware that they are not that quick but adding the 3 branding as a layer makes it even longer).
Thanks
Sorry but buy a companion nexus tablet for quick updates.
I'm sure someone's custom rom is pretty untouched but I don't know which yet.

Thanks for the answer, I don't want Google quick updates like on the Nexus devices, I would be happy with the longer HTC quick updates, but right now I have Three UK quick updates.
I want to go from: Google Release -> HTC Release -> Three Release
to Google Release -> HTC Release
I know we have a lot of threads discussing 4.3 already, but those seem to be for people who have successfully downloaded it and worked with it. I'm curious to see how many others are still waiting on the update. I live in Canada and so far I've seen no sign of it, my device tells me I'm still up to date with 4.2.2. I don't have 3G but I regularly connect to WiFi.
It's not a very big deal... the update doesn't seem to have much that I need, except maybe a slightly faster speed when doing things. But yeah, I'm curious. Share your locations if you're still waiting.
EDIT: I really wish there was a way to edit the titles for threads...
EDIT 2: Thank you for that.

Im in russia with a UK model still waiting. Im too busy at the moment to actually flash it so im going to be patient and wait for OTA.
It seems we are always last on the list here to get OTA or any updates.
Could any Russian users post and let me know if they have the update
Kind regards
Richard
In in South Carolina and one of my N4 has gotten the update but my other N4 hasn't gotten it yet. And neither has my N7 for some reason.

Canada here,
Still waiting on my N4 and N7.
N4 is on and off 3G doesn't seem to make a difference.
Last time around, the N7 got it within the week and N4 had to wait 2+ weeks until it arrived.
Austria; 212K N4 (stock everything) still nothing ...
I am on a custom rom and I am too lazy to go back to stock. Would wait for a week untill PA or CM have cooked their 4.3 builds.
UK, London - Tried the framework thing - Nothing....
Phone bought in UK, using Norwegian sim-card. Now travelling in Europe. Have checked (WIFI) in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Still nothing.
Croatia still didnt get it hopefully soon
No updates in Bangladesh either...

got tired of waiting after the OTA zip was published. downloaded the thing and sideloaded it. easy as pie and stopped me from checking the damn system update like an addict
check the excellent OTA thread, it should be easy enough for moderately literate geeks to flash it in a breeze

I am waiting, but not for the OTA that arrived on my phone a couple of days ago. I am waiting for all the bugs to get squashed and for the apps to get updated to accommodate 4.3.
UK
In the UK just received the update
Austria. Got it offered today via OTA. Default System w unlocked bootloader. Installed wo problems.

Is it recommended that I wait for the next 4.3 update that is supposed to correct some of the issues seen in the current 4.3 update? Don't wanna update to a host of new bugs when nothing is really wrong here.
Since I got the phone this week, I immediately upgraded to 4.3. Experienced no bugs so far. I've heard people talk about problems. But I haven't experienced anything specific or broken. I say upgrade.

I remember reading online a few months ago, that the S4 Active is currently stated to receive the 4.3 update on 12/24/13. Does anyone have any current information regarding this. Are we finally going to get the update tomorrow?
I've been curious about this myself but without a solid root method for the 4.3 leak that we have im staying on mf1 even if they do have a update.

It was mentioned on a couple websites a few months ago but there were really no details gave about it. It won't happen tomorrow and if it does the international version will get it first. The att users will have to wait.
