Getting same version system update - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone.
I am facing a strange thing in my Xperia Z1. It is already updated to build number 14.2.0.290 but today suddenly it started showing system update available and the update has the same build version 14.2.0.290. What shall I do now ? How could this possibly happen ?

This has been mentioned in a couple other threads. Probably nothing bad will happen if you let it update, but no one seems to know why it happens. If you don't want to update and it annoys you, just disable notifications for the update app.

No reason to update if you already running a .290 FW so forget about that update. When will come out .114 then yes, you will update.

Thanks a lot. Waiting for 4.4 update !

First saw it on the Dutch site, but also on globle site www.sonymobile.com
You are right!
But I have something more - every site where Xperia T is available to be previewed there is an info about this update! But our current build is 9.1.A.1.140 which isn't even officialy certified on PTCRB. Strange

Sony site shows this for me as well, but PC Companion gives no update... it says my phone is running the latest version, which is 9.1.A.0.489
I've tried installing PC Companion for UK and Hungary, without success. Anyone know how to get this update?
I also cannot update to this. Hopefully there will be someone who can get the update and will kindly create a download link for us

Yeah, looked there first. No-one has even mentioned the 9.1.A.1.490 update there yet. I'm wondering if Sony made a mistake putting up the new version.
Well yesterday was published in PTCRB and 140 days ago since it was released, so perhaps have anticipated
Hello all, I've had the update, a few days ago, I live in Belgium, just hooked my phone up to pcc and bam, update xp, tough I don't notice any changes.
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app

No. I think the build number would be really different and not just differ with the last three digits

Me too! I hope Sony will make a correct decisions and we WILL get another updates
And the possibility that Sony support to the range 2012 to android 5.0 T Xperia including (of course) does not seem outlandish.
Sony announced it would give support to the 2012 range (high end) to android 5.0. Hopefully so be it!

Im currently on android v4.1.2 build 9.1.A.1.141 (which is what came installed on the phone when I bought it about 2 years ago) I now want to update to a newer version of android. I want to keep my root, but Im unsure whats the best most stable rom to update to and Im not 100% sure how to go about updating. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

4.3 is the final update for all 2012 xperia devices (official) you can use towelroot to root your phone

So confused - will p7 ever receive Lollipop Update, or do you really have to root?

Hi guys.
So I've been searching for this information for a very long time. Every news say that p7 is going to receive the update and that it would roll out in June / July.
Am I missing something? I really want the update, but I dont want to root my phone.
Btw, I live in Denmark, Europe, if that helps.

Then you haven't searched enough
There's currently a BETA test running for P7 Lollipop. The current version (B815) is running pretty well but we're still waiting for the final release.
Huawei keeps changing the release dates so no one knows for sure when we'll receive the final version.
Some sources say November...

Thanks a lot for your fast reply!
Ah okay, I heard about the BETA but I heard that it would probably just be out for 3-4 weeks before the final version was added.
So just to be sure: I will receive the lollipop version for my phone - whenever Huawei is ready?

You are totally right, normally a beta test lasts only a couple of weeks. Apparently this doesn't apply to Huawei
You will receive Lollipop whenever it's ready and automatically via OTA.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. Good to know I will get it eventually.
Weird they are so slow. I really like this phone - but Im not sure my next phone is going to be Huawei because of this slow android development.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now released 7-1-2016

I checked system Updates and found new update
It is large, so seems it is not a minor update
But an upgrade to a new version.
Ladies and gentle men, marshmallow has arrived.

This time is true.

EVA-L09 version number

Hi guys!
2 weeks ago I received an update with this number:
EVA-L09C900B191
But awkard things started like:
Bloatware from a French carrier and I'm from Portugal with a unlocked version
Everytime I search for this version number at Google, nothing seems to exist, not even a changelog
And the "themes store" is totally gone and I only can use the themes that I already had.
Someone has the same version? Its just to know If I am the only one with this "problem"
Thanks!

Hello!
Same problem here. From Portugal with this update and also having problem with theme store. Can't access to it.
Regarding the bloatware I think that I have that problem since I bough this phone.
I hope that nougat fixes this problem.

each time you have this problem, or every time you se a "C900", it means, that your p9 had a software modification, its not that bad, but if you want updates you will have to do them manually, and the themes you can download them and install them on the HWTHEMES folder on your phone,

Anyway I sent a email to Huawei assistance reporting this issue.
Hi there.
I was thinking about that C900 version and I searched a way to change that version:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/how-to-change-cust-c900-c432-t3392824
After this tutorial I already have de nougat update through HiCare App.
Thanks for the help that I needed to resolve this issue
